My analysis. Kobe plays great defense on Lebron, and really knows how to hassle him and make him uncomfortable. Give him props for taking the challenge and giving effort. For Lebron, a lot of these plays he’s trying to set up offense (playing point guard), not attack him 1v1. The lakers also always had multiple guys helping and sagging off their men. Both these factors allow Kobe to really get up on Lebron, which was a smart move and good defense by Kobe and the lakers. Lebron has never really been a true 1v1 player. He can get by Kobe or get his shot off, but he cares about winning the war not the battle. Kobe always been a great defender and you gotta respect that.

Then why can't kobe win the game if he was guarded by Bron
@thomaswayne20764 жыл бұрын
@@francispaden3105 when did Bron guard Kobe for a whole game 🤣 Besides Bron actually plays really good D on Kobe, you gotta hear the point Bron plays really good D on Kobe but Kobe still scores like 40% of the time Kobe plays total lockdown defense on Bron I’ve tried to watch as many games as I can of them and I’ve only seen twice where Bron was able to score on Kobe without a screen However Brons playing style is way more pick and roll dominant than Kobe’s is Kobe will way more likely go one on one with Bron or whoever guards him like in Cle he went at Larry Hughes, Miami D Wade/Battier, Cle JR Smith while Bron will more use screens when Kobe’s on him and goes at Bynum/Odom more often or other laker defenders not named Kobe This to me tho only means Kobe is better one on one it doesn’t mean he’s better at winning So to say Bron torched Kobe sounds dumb cuz he never actually scores on Kobe lol Kobe has actually torched Bron tho But if you wanna say Bron is a better winner/team player/helping his team win then that’s a better argument for using their regular season records But at the same time Kobe has more rings and has beaten more 50 win playoff teams and Bron has been lucky to stay healthy because if he had gotten injured like Kobe’s Achilles at 34 he wouldn’t of even been able to get a 4th ring, so by the age of 34 Kobe had 5 rings and Bron had 3 It’s all about the type of argument you want to have Longevity is clearly Bron One on one is clearly Kobe Better winner/basketball player up for debate It’s just when fans say Bron is 16-6 vs Kobe regular season where the fact he uses screens matters because they say 16-6 implying he torched Kobe when that has never been the case The fact he’s 16-6 can only be used for the better winner/team player/overall hooper debate but within that debate that’s only one small point for Bron For one reason if you really break it down Bron won 8 of the last 9 games he played against Kobe which included from 2013-2016 when Kobe was injured with a torn Achilles and 2011-2013 when Bron had Bosh and D Wade and Kobe had Pau Gasol and Bynum and the supporting casts weren’t even close Up to 2010 Bron was 8-5 vs Kobe but that’s not even accurate because two of the lakers wins Kobe was injured in the first quarter and barely played so he really only beat Bron 4 times in his career in my opinion, and 3 times before 2010 So it breaks down like 2011-2016 Bron 8-1 with a way more stacked team and vs an injured Kobe on terrible Laker teams 03-2010 Bron 8-3 when they both had more similar teams with Bron winning more often when Kobe didn’t have Gasol so 05-08 and Kobe winning more often when he had Gasol and Bynum and Bron had Mo Williams and Ilgaskaus Actually breaking down the games it tells me that more often whoever had the better supporting cast normally won the regular season games and that Kobe was better then Bron in one on one scenarios It’s hard to read more into it than that because saying Bron is a better winner just because he was 16-4 in the regular season doesn’t make sense because the ultimate way to judge winning is championships and Kobe played in a tougher conference and with less all stars but still has more championships in less amount of time, Kobe also played with Shaq and Bron carried all the teams he’s on so there’s arguments in both directions as far as who’s the better winner, my point isn’t that Kobe is the better winner or Bron, my point is that just using regular season record doesn’t tell us everything about who the better winner when the goal isn’t to win regular season games, For instance Duncan and Steph both have better regular season and playoff records vs Bron but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re better winners, and Kobe has a better winning record over Duncan, Simply put normally the star with better supporting cast wins so to actually judge who’s the better winner you have to look deeper than the records Do I give Bron any points for dominating Kobe teams in the regular season sure a little, but compared to all the other ways to factor winning it’s a small factor so my biggest takeaway from watching them play is that it was CLEAR that Kobe was much better one on one but Bron for a majority of the times they played had a better supporting cast it wasn’t like he ever played Kobe when he had Shaq so he basically beat up on Kobe’s teams when he had Kwame Brown, then lost to Kobe once Kobe got Gasol and then beat up on Kobe again once he got Wade And it makes sense they’re both so great they’re gonna kinda cancel eachother out and the result will fall on the supporting cast I’m sorry I wish I could give Bron more credit than that but why would I give Duncan credit for beating Bron in the regular season when he has Ginobli and Parker and the spurs winning teams vs Brons average cav teams You measure one on one by the times guys matchup and go at eachother And you measure winning by championships/level of supporting cast and difficulty of road to the championship If that doesn’t make sense to you please explain to me so I can see it a different way Also last thing I’ve noticed is that typically teams that play a pick and roll style normally do well in the regular season but then fade in the playoffs, I think that’s because it’s a pretty basic offense that allows guys to pick it up quickly AND the defenses aren’t game planning as hard so a simple offense led by an all time great player/really good player will get the job done for regular season wins However once the playoffs start and the best teams can really game plan how to guard your pick and roll action it becomes harder Meanwhile the teams that have a more complicated offense do better in the playoffs cuz it’s harder to game plan for Breakdown: (this is why I think that way) Look at all the teams that have won championships the last 30yrs Bulls won 6: they didn’t rely heavily on pick and roll they ran the triangle where multiple guys controlled the offense Houston won 2 was not a pick and roll team Detroit won 1 also not a pick and roll team, they would run it for Billups but they also ran a lot of plays for Rasheed and Prince in the post and for Hamilton as a shooter running around Warriors won 3 they run a movement offense not heavy pick and roll where Draymond, Iguadala, Klay, Livingston all ran the offense too not just Steph Spurs won 5 team offense And Lakers won 5 with the triangle Dallas/Toronto/Boston won one not pick and roll teams we’re super balanced with some pick and roll for J Kidd but mostly post ups for Dirk and Jason Terry ran the offense too or Lowry and Kawhi and Van Fleet or Marc Gasol top of the key ran the offense or Boston Rando/Pierce/Ray/KG all ran the offense thru them in 08 That’s 25 of the past 30 championships were mostly won by teams that didnt have a ball dominant wing/guard offense Only Bron while needing super teams until 2020 has been able to win OR Wade in 06 when he went crazy in the finals and they mainly ran pick and roll for him Compare these teams to The Suns heavy pick and roll with Nash as the main and only guy running the offense, those teams won in the regular season but never a ring Iverson and Tmac teams could be really good but never won CP3 teams where he basically runs the whole offense had some great regular seasons but couldn’t win James Harden and Westbrook both will have amazing regular seasons and run the whole offense but don’t win Stockton and Malone most famous pick and roll team but couldn’t win it all

As I suspected, Kobe would DOMINATE, EVISCERATE, ANNIHILATE Bron one on one WITHOUT Lebron's BEST friends: the refs. Without the Refs, Kobe would ANNIHILATE him. Lebron operates off of cheap fouls and guys too afraid to play hard D on him when he drives lest they be called for some ticky-tacky foul. Kobe 365 Days a YEAR > LeExcuses.

Lebron didn't beat Kobe. Kobe made him go left because he shaded him to his week side, because he knows Lebron can't drive hard left and he usually pulls up which is what you want.
@delconagher1210 ай бұрын
That was the purpose. If your man beats you, the Center and Forward are in the lane. The NBA changed that so that low skill players like Lebron can keep competing.

@@delconagher12 …. Everyone has the same opportunity but there are only a dozen players or so that are “elite” quality. So don’t use that lame excuse. In the 80s and 90s there were plenty of players that if they got the ball 15ft from the rim, they wouldn’t even attempt to dribble or shoot. Now you could get crossed by anyone.
