For years, Kobe was believed to be BY FAR the most clutch player of his era. As of late, however, many are making the case that LeBron was not only the most clutch player of the 2000s, but arguably the most clutch player EVER. As always, the TRUTH lies somewhere in the CONTEXT.

The debate was settled when Kobe saved Team USA, then won back-to-back Finals against the two teams that sent the "Chosen One" packing his and crawling to Miami.

Do you think he redefined clutch time bc it made sense or because he looked at a bunch of different scenarios to find which ones Lebron was worse than Kobe then presented that scenario bc it fit the narrative? Why is scoring the only clutch thing? Why not include all of basketball stats? If the game has 2 minutes left and its one possession difference it's clutch, but if it's a 4 point game it's no longer clutch to score then?

Kobe was told by Phil to stop scoring so much and pass so Kobe during that time had to try to get smush Parker , kwame brown, Luke Walton, dj mbenga, Jordan farmer , Steve Blake . Yeah BUMS while himself was injured. Basketball was a team sport. LeBron was a lot healthier since the east was a breeze. I love Bron alot and Kobe was a solid player but when u watch them individually Kobe is the best BASKETBALL PLAYER in the world. But as a team player and a leader I got bron because he can actually work with anyone . Kobe couldn't even do it with Dwight and Nash . They were old but Bron would probably have gotten a little more out of them. Again one on one Kobe is a lot better than LeBron James but LeBron is more gifted had a easier path and left for super teams .

The way I see it is, Kobe, Jordan, and a select few are winners. Being a winner is something that is hard to quantify but you know it when you see it. I think this channel does a great job of providing facts to back up this philosophy, but, even with facts it's hard to explain how much a difference someone like Kobe made when he was on the court. I'd add, part of being a winner is losing. Jordan, Kobe, and others lost all the time and had to figure out how to overcome. As a result, they were able to find a way to be better when it mattered most. Despite the odds. LeBron does not do this. Every time he loses, there's always an excuse. He was hurt, he didn't have enough help, he was facing a super team, etc. Not only that, he's constantly having to "remind" us of how great he is. His work should speak for itself. He's never fit the criteria of a winner in my mind and I think a lot of people are sick of his tactics. In the end, his legacy will have more to do with turning people away from basketball than all the stats he accumulated over a very long career.

There are guys who are there without the same success in those big games. Guys you need to look past the winning numbers to realize they carried inferior teams who underperformed in the clutch and the only person playing like a winner was the main guy. Hakeem and Wilt are top tier guys that didn't win anywhere near their talent level because of the teams they played on.

I laughed out loud when you brought up the argument of Kobe playing against lesser competition, knowing he played in the Western Conference his whole career and knowing how good that conference always was. 8 seeds in the West were like at or near 50 wins in those years whereas the Eastern Conference you'd have sub .500 teams as the 8th seed sometimes

Well, no surprise to that. Kobe was double, triple or quad teamed by his opponents in the playoffs. Because they know how lethal he is in clutch since 2001. If you've seen the playoffs that year, the Spurs got Sean Elliot, Terry Porter, Dave and TD when he attacks the rim but damn! Kobe made like 6 dunks on them. Then in 02, Kings used Dough as their primary D, then Bobby or Hedo shadowing him on the weak side. 03, Bowen, Manu, Steve Smith, 04, Pistons used, Chquncey, Rip and Ty. Malik. In 06,l and 07 suns used Raja, Leandro, Diaw all 3 of them switching and Shadowing Kobe. 08, C's used Rondo, Ray, Pierce and KG to clogged the lane. 09 he he got Ron, Shane and Yao then Pietrus, Dwight, Hedo, JJ and Lee. Also from Denver Melo, JR and Kmart and Chauncey and in 2010, Suns used Grant, Jeffries, Dudley and in the finals Ray, Paul Tony allen, KG and Sheed. Not Just covering Kobe but also physically defending him. On the other hand Le flop was gifted again the in season turnament because it's only his chance to win another title. Are tha Lakers going to.have any good opponent in this.made up BS by the NBA? Wait! I think their free throw attempts are sky rocketing since they publicly criticize the refs

@@skap_attack Lebron has the most playoff game winners. Why are you so salty about Lebron? Is it because he threatens kobe or Jordan’s legacy or something? Lebron is the second greatest player in nba history, Kobe is in the 5 to 7 range behind Kareem, Bill Russell and Magic for sure. Most people believe that including most nba players. Doesn’t matter how mad you get over it, doesn’t change the facts or empirical evidence. The only person in nba history comparable to MJ is Lebron, he’s the only one that even comes close, especially in the playoffs if you look at their advanced metrics. Kobe was always referred to as "The Best Closer in the Game" during his time. even the commentators often say that. During the final minute of games, opposing teams would often double Kobe to prevent him from getting a shot off. They feared him. His excuisite isolation game and fierce mental focus was too deadly, You can smell it. If you're the opposing team, you can just feel he's going to put you out if you don't double him. In comparison, opponents never feared lebron during clutch times because he never gave them a reason to be. He often just drive and kick out to escape blame. To Lebron's credit, he does have some crucial playoff games where he showed up big time and put up stagerring numbers for the game as a whole. He is great in his own way. But if we're talking "2 minutes remaining, of a close playoff game" Who are you picking Kobe or Lebron. It's Kobe all the way.

Let me begin by saying that this man having 20,000 subscribers is KZbin personally blocking him because he speaks the real on Lego James. Secondly, his continent is way too superb for the Low count of subscribers. I see subscribers on KZbin channels that are mediocre as hell and this man has a third of what they rocking with even though his content is 10 times better stop playing with this man content he’s on the honest path and they don’t like it

Another interesting metric would be difficulty/distance of shots and turnovers. (I remember MJ having to heave several prayers at the buzzer in the 98 playoffs and Finals.) Also times passing up the shot or letting someone else cook. :)

Brother, the media completely shifted the narrative into this ridiculous illusion. Clowns will come on these comment sections, act like they’re right when they bring nothing to the table but longevity stats, and ridiculously specific criteria where LeBron looks good.

Facts. Lebron doesn’t have that killer mentality that we see in Kobe and Jordan. He shouldn’t be part of the GOAT conversation because stats are overrated in the NBA nowadays.

Shaquille O'Neal 3 finals mvps best player on Lakers 3peat and Kobe Bryant a sidekick like Pippen 6 rings Finals Mvps (individual player) Jordan 6 LeBron 4 Shaq 3 Kobe 2 Best players on teams titles Jordan 6 LeBron 4 Kobe 2 Jordan and LeBron finals mvps and best players on all they teams championships unlike Kobe 🐐 Jordan > LeBron > Shaq > Kobe LeBron James PPG, FG%, 3pt%, TS%, REB, AST, STL, BLK higher then Kobe Bryant. So its pretty clear LeBron the better player 🤭 LeBron 39,012 on 50.5% fg more points then Kobe 33,643 pts on 44.7% fg LeBron 1st all time points Kobe 1st all time missed shots Bleacher report top 50 greatest NBA players all time 1. Michael Jordan 2. LeBron James 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 6. Shaquille O'Neal 7. Tim Duncan 14. Kobe Bryant Kobe Bryant 44.7% fg only 32.9% 3pt most missed shots in NBA history not top 10 player all time that's why Bleacher report has him #14 Mavericks 4-0 swept yo hero Kobe Bryant to stop him from making NBA finals and winning championship 2011 playoffs Kobe Bryant not in goat convo with only 2 finals mvps and only 1 league mvp and a poor 44.7% fg You got Kobe D ick on yo lips 🥱

Kobe said the best "they don't hate the ones who are not great, they hate the ones who are" That's why Kobe is the most hated basketball player in sports media history, because of his greatness. @@StoneCold2k57 Bleachers Report 🤣 I call them Lebixxhes Report! The last time their POS website had a poll debate between MJ and Lebron it was MJ 77% over Lebron 23%. However, Lebron is second behind Jordan according to them 😆. However, Kareem's resume is better than Lebron's but look at who they have over Kareem 🤦🏻. When it came to Kobe vs Lebron, the poll was NECK to NECK. They really thought their guy was gonna 💨 Kobe but the only player who got 💨 was Lebum.
