The media hated Kobe, but the players always pick the Black Mamba. That's all I need to know.
@DubboU5 жыл бұрын
@Curly Que it has a lot to do with the rape case. The media was all over Kobe before that happened. They were desperate to find "the next MJ" so they can carry on with their money making. After that case broke out, the media basically set Kobe as a villain. Not giving him any credit, even though he went on a massacre for YEARS, destroying his peers every single game. Not giving him MVP when everything points to him as the clear winner. Pushing Kobe down the list of all time greats, when most of the players themselves have Kobe right there with MJ. Then LBJ came along, who had the most perfect life story for media hype, and the rest is history.

No Doubt about that. That is exactly what i have said. If anyone wants to believe that Lebron is better than Kobe, I say what Allen Iverson said; '' What i don't get is when they talk about the GOAT, how can they just pass up Kobe. Have they forgotten? Look at the TAPE! " That's exactly what i would have said. I will even go step further, I don't believe that that even Lebron really believes that he is better than Kobe. Whenever the media finally get's smart and ask the only people that they should ask which are present and former NBA players that played with and against Kobe, we will finally settle this. Just look who the players pick when they are asked the question of who is better. When they finally get around to doing this, THEY JUST NEED TO ASK THE TO BE HONEST WITH THERE ANSWER AND NOT BE BIASED. However, regardless of whether one or two does not do that, I believe that at least 70 TO 75% WILL STILL PICK KOBE.

It's simple man... Kobe brought FEAR to every opponent's heart... they were SCARED of the mamba cause of his relentlessness... they knew Kobe wasn't scared of anything... they knew he would keep fighting like his life depended on it... Kobe NEVER gave up like Bron in those finals where he knew he had the massively inferior team... Kobe played with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown against the Nash and Amare Suns that were destroying the league and took them to 7 games and only lost cause he CHOSE TO... Reality? Lebron is a regular season stats player that has had some success in the playoffs due to his immense talent and some really OP teams... Kobe was straight up A PLAYOFF PLAYER!!! The man lived for the playoffs and he raised his game in the playoffs every single time... Anyway... I've stopped caring about the NBA just cause of LeESPN... the amount of hype based on meaningless stats this man gets and the disrespect all the other greats get from the media just to shove him above them has ruined the NBA for me... everything is about Lebron... the NBA pushes narratives to keep pushing him... the refs are ridiculously biased in his favor (the Nuggets last year got MASSACRED by refs whenever they were playing better than the Lakers in those West Finals)... I just don't find the will to watch that rigged shit anymore... it's not basketball... it's moneyball...

If I may add to this, his confidence comes from HARD METICULOUS WORK. If ur in school, studying for an exam, taking practice tests, doing experiments while others are sleeping and reading to no end, you step in that classroom, see that 1st question you're gonna be licking your chops and smiling because it all looks so familiar to you. You'll KILL the exam before you put a answer down on the sheet. Same thing with Kobe. There's NO opponent he didn't study, no offensive move not downloaded into his arsenal(dude shot kareem hookshots and left hand jumpshots in a game like it was 2nd nature because it WAS). So that confidence was like any other kids confidence early in life. He'd just taken it to another level by the time he was 17 because even then his work ethic and ambition was insane.

Only thing I'm going to disagree with this video is how could Kobe be far from it to be the best player ever. I think he was closer than u can ever be in my opinion. I mean his skill level was unmatched. He could shoot from anywhere. Had a post game. Drive, pull up, spin, shoot with either hand. Dunk on people. He could make moves with either hand or dribble. Great free-throw shooter and a pretty good three pt shooter. He passes pretty good. And he defended very well also. So what else is left that he was far from it. I'm going to finish this GOAT debate here. Back in the 80's there was a competition between the best players in the game on who could get the first three peat between them. Jordan did it and then did it again, who got a three peat since? Kobe Bryant, everyone else went two to 1. It's hard. So now we know.

The media will let you think he’s bad just to create some space for all star team needing lebron. Kobe was evil and the writers didn’t give Kobe those mvps that were mentioned due to that Colorado case. Sad

Bottom line, Kobe didn't give a shit about stats or personal achievements, all he cared about was winning at all cost. Kobe greatest attribute was his ability to show up and play every game at a high level weather it was on the road or at home you were getting his best, even with illnesses and injuries no problem! BLACK MAMBA!!!

Numbers can be analyzed by anybody and can make a quick generalization of a player. By stats, Kobe may not be top 10 but playing ability, Kobe was a killer. A monster. A bonafide Legend. The fact remains the same he has 5 championships 3 with Shaq and 2 more literally with no help whatsoever. Kobe was the offense and defense from 05-13 of that team man. He was my favorite player. I never got a chance to see Jordan play but ive seen Iverson, Melo, Lebron, Wade, and Dirk and now Curry, Harden, Durant. None really compare to Kobe. Kobe had it all.

They hate and despise Kobe Bryant because he dethroned Michael Jordan he sent him into retirement twice 99 and 03 btw Hakeem Olajuwon did it first in 93. Michael Jordan retired whenever he couldnt win a championship and i dont hate Jordan. Just watch the matchups between Kobe and Jordan in December 97 and February 98 Jordan couldnt guard Kobe one on one because Kobe was scoring on Jordan so easily threes twoos dunks Kobe was torching Jordan and Pippen together. Michael Jordan retired in 99 because it was Kobes time he was younger faster at that time more explosive more endurable better stamina condition Jordan was older Kobe was way better shooter than Jordan especially for the 3 pt and the mid range also better dribbler ball handler more skilled player. There was a new sherif in the town new chief killer assassin which america will never accept and deal with that. Thats the reason why they hate and despise Kobe Bryant

Max Kellerman literally argues that "he's the closest to MJ we've seen but not quite there. Therefore he can't be in the conversation." And okay that's fine if you want to say he's not MJ but that doesn't suddenly disqualify him for top 5. I'm so tired of that stupid take

Terrible attempt at a debunk. You didn't have to say Kobe was your favorite player of all time or say that the level of "disrespect" he gets pisses you have. We can all tell how biased and how this was emotional rather than objective. Let's go over your video: #1.) NO ONE thinks Kobe isnt a one of the greatest players of all time. HE IS GREAT. Most lists dont have him top 10, but he is ranked around 10th-13th spot on average. He isnt mentioned in the GOAT convo with MJ & LBJ because those are top 3 guys. He IS NOT disrespected, everyone knows he is an all time great! Its just Kobe fans go crazy when he isnt ranked top 10. #2.) Your topic is efficiency and you focus on FG%. That's not what is meant by efficiency. Some CAREER examples: PER (where Kobe ranks 24th!! Compare to MJ 1st and LBJ 2nd, Shaq 4th), Usage 3rd (should have waaay more assists), Box +/- is only 38th?! (Lebron 1st, MJ 2nd), and you mentioned the other guards he played with his entire career were crap yet his Value over Replacement player is ONLY ranked 16th?! I could also mention he is #1 in Missed shots, #3 in attempts, 4th in Turnovers and other stats, but lets focus on the efficiency stats noted above. #3.) Lacked Playmaking players next to him. Bro you contradict yourself later on by saying Kobe played in Phil's triangle which is why his assists were low. . . ?? Jordan played in the Triangle, only play maker he had was Pippen. Kobe had Shaq who was the MOST dominate player EVER, he drew triple teams regularly! Then, he had Odom & Gasol. And several other solid guys who could create shots on other teams: Glen Rice, Artest, Fisher, etc. Most teams either have 2 playmakers or a system in play, Kobe had both: the triangle system AND great bigs to create plays. #4.) Kobe was a good passer? This one is easy, your argument is that he ranks 1st for all shooting guards... well yeah he is the only SG to play 20 seasons lol. When you look at APG that is when falls well below other top SGs like MJ, Wade, West, Penny, Iverson, Drexler, Harden-- basically ALL top SGs. Also, like i mentioned above, his USAGE rate was through the roof and its inexcuseable that his APG are that low: he was a ball hog. #5.) Shaq carried Kobe. Again, you really exagerate the general assumptions to favor your narrative. In my 30+ years of basketball, ive never heard anyone say Shaq carried Kobe. Plain an Simply: Shaq was the super star, he was by far the best player on those 3 title runs and was the best player in the league from 2000-2004. He is the most dominate player of all time. Kobe was 21, he hadnt hit his prime; of course it was prime Shaqs team. And you say "Shaq would of never won those rings without Kobe", Shaq was going to win a few titles regardless; whether it was in Orlando, LA, Miami later on-- Kobe definitely did his part, no one denies Kobe was a good sidekick to Shaq, but make no mistake Shaq was the unquestionable best player in the league for those 4 years. #6.) MVP Shares. You say Kobe got snubbed in '06 & '07? Nash turned the Suns into Legit contenders the second he got there, Kobe wasnt even a close 2nd; Kobe was 4th in MVP votes that year and rightfully so, the Lakers barely made the playoffs. Lebron was only 21 and he lead the SUPER garbage Cavs to 50+ wins, even he was voted above Kobe-- come on man, you're using the word "Snubbed" far too loosely. In '07 Dirk won 67 games that year bro... Kobes stats decreased and the Lakers LOST 5 more games than they did last year, AGAIN BARELY making the playoffs; Kobe was voted 3rd No snub. #7.) Clutch shots. I mean you explained it yourself: he was 5/22 on game winners, how is that far from the truth? Lol, as soon as you started this statement you lost the arguement. The stats show that Kobe IS NOT clutch, however since he always takes the last shot no matter how many people are on him people seem to only remember the makes. He airballed game winners vs Utah in back 2 back playoffs. In conclusion, KOBE is great! He is an all time great player and the #2 SG of all time. The consensus is he is around a top 10th-13th player. Some publications have him ranked as high as 9th and some as low as 13th, however when you average out all major publications his medium seems to be right around 12th. That is not bad, the #2 SG of all time and the 12th greatest player of all time! He isnt underrated, it just because an issue with Kobe fans who tend to overate him. You yourself expressed biased as your favorite player and expressed emotion by saying it pisses you off. While Kobe doesnt belong in the GOAT convo with the likes of MJ, LBJ or Kareem; Kobe DOES deserve respect as a top 12 player of all time. Kobe!!!

@Gerren Glenn Ignorance is your failure to respond with facts, numbers or something to support your statements. I am cool if you want to have Kobe in the top 10, its debateable. My statement was based on factual evidence: most major publications have kobe on average 12th. Most old school players have him outside of top 10, current generation players have Kobe in top 10-- its all subjective to what era you grew up watching. But again, my statements were factual based on stats, proofs and not on my opinion. 💯
