The KD question was interesting. If Kobe had done something similar during his run it would have been like if Kobe had gone to the Spurs and won chamionships and then been like “ha! See?! I can win without Shaq!” But everyone would have been like “yeeeeeeeeeeeah, I mean technically yeah. But you’re also playing with three all stars”. If KD had left OKC and gone to another team and led them from scratch to a title, adding a big man like Kobe did with Pau and maybe some good role players then people would have a very different opinion of KD today. Leading a team to a title, instead of jumping on the bandwagon

@@jacobmoore7381 I respectfully agree with your opinion in the regards of Shaq would've been the greatest because he had the capability, he made a conscientious choice to slack off and be lazy instead of challenge himself. He was never going to be that type of player mentally, he just relied on his physical dominance

Enigmatic 1 honestly, if Shaq was as crazily competitive and hardworking as a Kobe, Lebron, Jordan etc. it wouldn’t of even been fair at all. He easily would have been the goat, especially if he worked out more bc we’d of gotten a mix of young athletic Shaq and his prime dominant self rolled into one. I mean its not hard to see Shaq getting jealous of Kobe's streak. If you watch that Orlando Magic 30 for 30 documentary, when Shaq got hurt in what '95 and Penny went on that impressive streak and got some endorsements, then the lil penny commercial Shaq was totally jealous.... He just didn't like seeing other people having success and getting theirs, not even due to selfish reasons but they HAD to do what they needed to fill the void of him being out and its like he wasn't having that.. That attitude can rub a ton of people the wrong way.. No wonder Kobe wanted his ass out of LA. Shaq was a spoiled child.. At the same time I get it from Shaqs perspective, Shaq made everyones life easier, Penny didn't win without him and he would have been justified had Kobe not won his rings with Pau and Lamar in 09 and '10. But still, Shaq was so immature though the team mentality seemed like something he didn't embrace as much as he could. Imagine Kobe with a Hakeem Olajuwon or a David Robinson in his prime. Two men who came from humble backgrounds with Robinson being in the military and Hakeem being just a soft spoke yet intelligent man from Africa who played and moved with the smoothness and intelligence of a performer...

Shaq and Kobe let the media ruin them. Shaq was a bigger part of the blame because as the vet, and as the one people often tried to give all the credit to, he NEVER squashed and said "We win together and we need each other." Kobe's ego is bigger than life and of course he had the ultimate confidence in himself to say "fuck that, let him leave"............ And he proved it.

Had Kobe been born before Jordan and he wasn't chasing Jordan. He would not have been that good. He studied Jordan. Jordan is the blueprint, others are carbon copy.

People like kobe would have been great in any other era because of his mentality and work ethic.. Kobe was also a student of hakeem so he he is not entirely a COPY of jordan. He was a student of the game like jordan was. The fact that both of them are fundamentally sound and flawless is a testament to their dedication towards excellence. They will always have edge over players like lebron, shaq, wilt whom you wont hesitate to foul in crucial moments lol.

Kobe and Shaq did some legendary shit. Out of all of the Hall of Fame Duos Shaq and Kobe were the only ones to win titles without each other. Pippen/Michael Jordan never won a title without each other. Majic Johnson never won a title after Kareem had retired.

That was the unfair judgment against Kobe that “he can’t win without Shaquille his big brother” and Kobe is right Jordan or Magic never had that judgement, he is throwing settle shots that he is the goat 🐐 😉

Instead of Kobe’s 40 pt games de-motivating Shaq, one would think it would motivate him instead. Hell MJ used to imagine ppl played better than him or said they were better than him just to motivate himself or find a challenge to go after. Kobe is cut from a similar cloth. Seems, based on all accounts, Shaq isn’t one of those guys. He becomes jealous and folds.
@sergiogarcia55934 жыл бұрын
The thing that drives me nuts is that after career years in 2001 and 2003 (Kobe averaged 28 points and 30 points), Kobe wasn’t unmotivated when he had to dial it back in 2002 (25 ppg) and 2004 (24 ppg). They won in 2002 and made the Finals in 2004. How come Shaq didn’t do more to help Kobe win the MVP in 03 back taking a backseat and getting his toe and rehab way before.

Everyone out here debating nonsense, Kobe played in a more competitive era then MJ. There were teams built to stop Kobe. Then the no defense era happened and you got guys like Harden scoring 50 points a night
