I gotta tell people though. Don't count Kobe out. This man's drive is stronger than anybody else's. His will to win is stronger than anyone else's. Without this man last year the Lakers would've plummeted and wouldn't have even been close to the playoffs. With all the injuries, the coaching changes, and all the problems with Dwight. The Lakers making the playoffs was FAR from anyone else's mind, but they did it and made it. Kobe promised his fans that the playoffs wouldn't look good without the Purple and Yellow in the playoffs. And he made it happen. Don't ever count this man out. With his drive and dedication to win. 2nd Greatest of all time.

I can't necessarily say Shaq was the most dominant, but Kobe did win 3 with Shaq I can't deny that. However, people act as if Kobe didn't play a dynamic role in their championships. Kobe did score a lot more points than Shaq did. Had Shaq hit more of his free throws during their era, he'd probably average about 45 a game. But what can you do; right? Anyway, Kobe's drive to win is like no other's. Don't count him out.

Peter Putnam I agree Shaq played better in the finals, however, he was in his prime, kobe wasn't (at least first year), east had smaller teams, so shaq had the ball more. Kobe actually had greater statistical overall seasons during the kobe-shaq era.

IamRangers Stats are overrated. I'd like to look at the actual play of the players. Also, how many rings did Shaq win without and how many did Kobe win without Shaq? That should sum it up right there. Another thing. Shaq was just a huge force down low. Who did he really have to go against that was really going to shut him down during their era. Kobe was a shooting guard you had a better shot at stopping him as opposed to stopping big Shaq down low.

Kobe's averages and accolades don't equal Michael's, but I must say that Kobe faced much more elite competition at the SG position than Michael ever did. During Michael's prime, the best players in the league were not of his position, of which Scottie, Horace, or Dennis took care of shutting down.
@blackadam06
@blackadam06 5 жыл бұрын
Oh really? Then go ahead and give us the names of any guards that went into the playoffs avg'n 20+ppg, BEFORE facing kobe in ANY rd of the playoffs? That's what I thought. Because MJ wins that comparison 15-6! And when conducting that comparison in the 90s, he still wins 12-6! FACT: MJ faced 15 "wing/perimeter guys" who came into the playoffs avg'n AT LEAST 20ppg in the 90s. Under this same criteria, kobe only faced 7 in his entire playoff career! That means that MJ faced TWICE the # of wing guys who were avg'n 20+ppg in the playoffs than kobe has, to which he won more against 'em!!

WRONG. At the SG position, MJ played against Michael Cooper - DPOY, Alvin Robertson - DPOY, Dennis Johnson - HOFer, Reggie Miller - HOFer, Joe Dumars - HOFer, Clyde Drexler - HOFer, Mitch Richmond - HOFer and Penny Hardaway who would have easily been a HOFer if he didn't succumb to injuries. Then late in his career he played against Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, Vince Carter and Allen Iverson and STILL proved he could compete against them even though he was old. Try naming that many elite 2 guards that Kobe played against. I dare you! Not only that, but MJ was routinely double and triple teamed throughout his career because NO other player on his team ever got doubled including Scottie. Kobe had Shaq and Gasol who were major offensive threats and got doubled a lot which freed Kobe up on the other side of the court. This myth that MJ had better teammates and Kobe played against tougher competition is a joke.

Honestly the NBA has changed A LOT!!! the styles of the game have changed and Jordan had a unique playstyle that separated him from the rest and in the 90s lets be honest there wasn't that much competition and he had the best roster ever seen in basketball too thats how Jordan accomplished what he did. But Kobe is a better shooter than Michael and is more durable with his body. Impact and Press is important and MJ got everything and all attention. Bryant is seen as the player "We can't compare him to Jordan because they don't want to see how he is superior in many ways" At the time Jordan could be compared to anybody and trust me if Kobe came before Jordan this would be flipped flopped.

Both are phenomenal athletes! The debate is tired & generally pointless. KB would be the first to say MJ was his childhood bball idol & so he learned much from him. I'm not sure who MJ emulated (possibly Dr. J or others?). Either way, they're the most athletic/acrobatic players ever (the highlights & numbers validate it). MJ might be better on defense & KB might be a better outside shooter. Both were clutch, extremely dedication & had that killer instinct to win at all cost. Individually they're the most exciting to watch but I personally love the "team bball era of the 1980's" with Magic's Lakers & Bird's Celtics (the two greatest team dynasties) . The San Antonio Spurs of 2014 were a flashback to that era thanks to Popovich's great coaching, Tim Duncan's unselfishness, Kawhi Leonard's skills & their 'whole team' buying into the system & implementing it.

Power Gear Ok put this is perspective when you point out shooting percentages. If you compare Lebron's and Kobe's best shooting seasons. The percentage of shots taken beyond 3FT from the rim Lebron is 60.1% and Kobe's is 75.2%. Therefore Kobe is less likely to shoot a 50% season because he takes more difficult shots. But what you should be waiting on is Lebron to reach higher than 50% in winning in the finals. Lebron's finals game record is 11 - 16 with 2 out of 5 rings. Kobe's is 23 - 15 with 5 out of 7 rings.

I never seen any other case in which you had two players where one of them (MJ) averaged more pts, reb, ast, stl, blk, high fg% (in regular season, playoffs & finals) has 4 more MVPs, 4 more finals MVPs, 8 more scoring titles, 3 more stl titles, 1 more DPOY and did all of that while playing significantly less time and people actually feel the need to ask the question who was the better player. What is harder to understand is how people can attempt to make a case that kobe was the better player.

Kobe might be top 10 all-time. It's tough for me to put him ahead of guys like Magic, Bird, Hakeem, Kareem, West, Erving, Oscar, Pistol Pete, the Iceman, and other major legends of the game. While some of those guys I mentioned may not be as talented as Kobe (granted) or have scored as many points, most of them shot a better field goal percentage, were better in at least one or more areas of the game than Kobe, and they used their heads better, in addition to being better teammates and outspoken leaders for their teams. But, its a total joke to say that Kobe is the best player ever and/or to compare him with Jordan (other than to say how similar their moves were and how closely Kobe modelled his game after Mike's). Clearly, MJ owns Kobe as the more complete player, as well as in so many areas of the game from leadership to athleticism to total scoring to field goal percentage, assists, rebounds, blocks, steals, with the notable exception of 3-point shooting (for which Kobe averaged an amazing one percentage point more than Mike for his career!). Moreover, Jordan's accomplishments are far more impressive than Kobe's, including more NBA championships (having never lost in the Finals), an NCAA championship, 5 more MVPS, 4 more Finals MVPS, 8 more scoring titles, a defensive player of the year award, 3-time steals leader, and it goes on and on. I get so tired of making the case over and over. It's driving me a little crazy at this point, and I know a lot of other people are seriously tired of it. Having said all that, I still respect Kobe as a player and I know that he's one of the most talented and skilled players ever to play the game, a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame, and probably deserving of at least one more MVP than he currently has, but lets just leave it at that and not get too carried away.

Because kobe 33% from 3pt mj 33% but the one guy got 3 times more obiviously kobe shoots better. Even scottie said kobe is a better shooter than mj. Kobe won 2 rings without shaq and mj never ever won or got past the 1st round with pippen, theres that. Side note mj dont have that handle, he cant hit 1 foot fadeaway contested jumpers like kobe he doesnt have the complete skillset with the blend of everything like kobe. You gotta remember mvp doesnt mean your the best in the world otherwise lebron should be getting it every year from 2011-18 Mj is top 5 but to say hes the goat like that is very disrespectful because that whole 92 dream team everyone says wilt is the goat.....

Honestly those awards don't matter. Look at the overall performances and games. Kobes seasons like his 35+ pts per game no MVP that year why beacause of his team. Teams matter and Jordan did have a better team and if his team wins he would get the MVP obviously. Kobe still has the most assists of anybody in the 30000 point club so that shows hes not the "Ball hug" everybody calls him to be

No, folks, first of all, this is a straw man argument because it appears to offer a logical "it's either this or that" argument, whereas a more fair, logical comparison for Kobe would him vs Duncan or Shaq or Nowitski; THOSE are the people you compare Kobe to, for God's sake, not against the true greatest player. No truly knowledgable Hoop expert would even pose such a specious argument. Jordan, hands down.

For those who saw Michael Jordan play in the 80`s & 90`s will understand how big this player really was. He did what Magic or Byrd couldn`t do, and that's to win twice three straight championships. Michael Jordan didn't do what Kobe or LeBrown did, and that`s choke in a NBA FINALS. Michael Jordan was the engine that made it possible for the bulls win six championships, and easy could have been eight straight. 6 Times MVP Of the Finals in 91,92,93,96,97 and 98 respectably, that alone in pretty damm impressive. So Houston Rockets please thank Michael Jordan for your two NBA Titles back to back

guevaraz101 I must respond to this. Magic and Bird saved basketball. Magic and Bird went to their teams and made them better. That's before Parrish and Mchale went to Boston and Magic won the championship his rookie year playing another position. go research when the Bulls became a winning team after MJ arrived. MJ got a lot of media and NBA hype. I guess you don't remember the Celtics sweeping the Bulls 2 straight seasons? I saw why MJ was special. It was the media that made him like that and also his lack of competition at his position. Now fast forward to Kobe...what makes Kobe special? How about playing 19 seasons and still the best in the league. MJ had his chance to play the Rockets but he blew it and got beat by Orlando. I know you will say that he was rusty etc...No one told him to retire and no one asked him to come back. That's the same season he dropped 55 on the Knicks. He wasn't too rusty.

Adrian Bethea Kobe has never been the best in the league lmfao.... So the only criticism you have against MJ is that he lost a playoff series right after coming off a 2 year retirement? That just shows you how fking good he is. How about Kobe and the lakers being COMPLETELY useless after Shaq left them? How about Kobe shooting 38% in the 2004 finals, losing 2008 finals and shooting 25% in game 7 2010?

Lastly lets not forget when comparing the two at the same stage in their careers, Jordan spent 3 years in college. Was injured pretty much an entire season. And was in retirement a few seasons during his career. That equates to about 5 or more seasons worth of playing time for Kobe. Who came in straight out of HS, and up until now he's not had a major injury. Even still he may not miss much of the upcoming season as he is said to be ahead of schedule with recovery. Hope he doesn't rush it tho.

Dakota Mayfield doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. So what if this era had better players? It was much more difficult in the 90's, think about the defense Jordan had to play through. People need to stop the comparison, NO ONE will ever be like Michael and yes maybe he plays like MJ but you have to understand one thing...KOBE stole MJ's moves and admitted it on national TV. People need to get their facts right because its so annoying to hear someone talk about a basketball player when they don't know jack shit about them.

Tom Corpus I'll let Joe Johnson address this "better players" claim: "The new rules [definitely changed] the game. If we could [aggressively defend] and hand check [now], things would be [totally different]. If they [couldn't] do all of those things back in the day, then there's some guys that would've been [even better] than they [were]. It would've been [nuts] for the big-time [perimeter players] from the [80s & 90s]. Can you imagine what Jordan and those guys would've done under our rules today?" -- Joe Johnson; "NBA's new rule paves way for two steps", Oct 23, 2009 Notice the title of this article... When you kids today try to talk about eras and who has/had better players, you might wanna take into consideration that MJ's era ALSO featured 17 of the NBA's 50 selected "Greatest Players Ever". Do you think it's a mere coincidence that when it comes to the leagues All Time leaders regarding the various facets of the game (both individually and team wise), the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of those leaders just happen to ALL be from the 80s and 90s? Keep in mind that they didn't have the luxury of playing under rules that FAVORS (and has made it easier) for perimeter players, which is "WHY" they've now become the dominant players in the league since the early '00s. So ask yourself: does this era REALLY have better players?

Can't compare the age thing. Kobe came straight out of high school at 18. Jordan went to college. Other than that it's a hard debate. Jordan played 4 seasons less PLUS retired a whole year and a half when he turned 33. So 5.5 years, Kobe had on MJ and only scored 3300 more points. Jordan played 15 seasons in his career and has 6 championships. Kobe is in his 18th year and has 5. Does this do it for you now?

Luan-Vu Tu No, you are wrong. Kobe may have came into the league earlier, but didn't get the opportunity to play just because of his age/coach. Kobe since starting as a starter:28 ppg, 6 rebpg, 5 astpg. 11x All-nba 1st team, 9x all nba 1st D (most of all time), 16x all-star (most of all time), 2xFMVP, 5x champion, most game-winning shots of all time.

TL N Kobe isn't better than LeBron and Durant. Of what aspect of the game are we talking about here? Because neither one of them have come anywhere close to Kobe's records and accolades. Yes, their both talented, and you can debate that now in their careers. Since Kobe is beginning to come into his closing year of the NBA. But don't discredit how great Kobe was in his prime. The 81 point game should say it enough as for scoring. Say what you want about the Celtics in 2010, but Kobe did his part in those first 6 games. Game 7 was really debatable, but did you really expect Ron Artest to show up for the Lakers down the stretch? It was really him who finished off that series with that dagger 3, and his great moments during the 2nd quarter. Kobe should have 4 rings? Are you one of those people who say "Shaq did all the work, and Kobe did nothing". Shaq may have done most of the work, and got 3 of those MVP's, but don't discredit Bryant and his talents during their run. They were called "Shaq and Kobe" for a reason. Last I checked LeBron only got his 2 rings because of his teammates. That first ring in the finals was really debatable. If you're going to say that the Lakers got calls in their favor in 2002. Than you can't even deny that the Heat don't get several calls in their favor in nearly every series of the playoffs. 2011, vs Chicago was all the refs. 2012 vs the Thunder... Nearly all of the Heat's points came from the line. Excluding, game 5. Mike Miller must've drank that water from the movie Space Jam that Jordan had or something. That was just unreal lol. Made no sense he has cold the whole series, and got hot in the closing game lol, and for this year. Had Ray Allen not hit that shot in Game 6. LeBron would only have 1 ring. Kobe is no Jordan, but it's very debatable. It's too early in both Durant, and LeBron's careers to say who's going to be better, but their sure not at Kobe's level yet.

TL N My stats are actually correct. Yeah, kobe was teenager in the playoffs that almost beat a team that nearly beat jordan. So what? Since he became a starter he dominated his era. Kobe should have 3-7 RSmvp's as well. He was the best player in 2001, 2003, 2006-2010
@iamrangers8351
@iamrangers8351 10 жыл бұрын
TL N And we got ourselves a Kobe hater. I mean, you can hate the man, but you can't lie about it. Kobe dominated the 2000s. Why? He had 5 of the 10 championships (wade, lebron, carmelo, t-mac, carter, yao, kidd,nash had 0 rings during that time). He averaged 28 ppg, 6 rebpg, 5 astpg during that decade. Had the most all-stars, points, all nba-Defensive teams, all-nba 1st teams, and championships. Shaq did not carry Kobe either. He may have been the best in the NBA finals, but he wasn't the best besides that, that belonged to Kobe. Kobe was not slouch in the finals either. Getting 27 ppg/25 ppg/23 ppg when he was there. Kobe vs Shaq stats:2000-2001 Kobe:29ppg 6 rebpg 5 apg. Shaq 29 ppg 13 rebpg 3 apg 2001-2002 Kobe: 26 ppg 6 rebpg 6 apg. Shaq: 27 ppg 10 rebpg 3 apg 2002-2003 Kobe: 30 ppg 7 rebpg 6 apg. Shaq: 27ppg 11 rebpg 3 apg Defensive stats (WS= win shares) 2000-2001 Kobe: 9 off WS, 5 Def WS. Shaq:11 Offensive WS ,4 Def WS 2001-2002 Kobe: 9 off WS, 4 def WS. Shaq: 9 off WS,4 Def WS 2002-2003 Kobe: 11 off WS,4 Def WS. Shaq: 10 off WS,3 Def WS Kobe had2 of 3 better D ranking years

is everyone on crack here??? Kobe cant even be compared to MJ!!!! "didn't have a lot of competition"???? Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics, Magic and the Lakers, The Bad Boys of Detroit Pistons,Stockton and Malone and the Utah Jazz...!!! I'll bet all of you that think Kobe is better are in your late 20's or early 30's! 6 championships, 2 3peats... something no other team has been able to accomplish, he did it twice! the guy retired from basketball for 2 seasons because he had crushed the competition and had no desire to play! won 6 titles without a dominant center! every dynasty in the last 60 years have won titles with dominant centers! Bill Russel and the celtics, Kareem Adul-Jabbar and the Lakers, Tim Duncan and the Spurs, Akeem "the dream" Olajwon and the Rockets, Shaq and the Lakers... If Jordan had any of these Centers in his team he would've won every single year! Kobe retiring at 37 and keeps promoting himself as an old man! Jordan had 22.9 ppg. in his last season at 40 years of age including a 43 point game at the age of 40!!! Jordan has won every single Finals he's ever been in unlike Kobe who was sitting on the bench in the 4th quarter when they were getting a pounding from the Celtics in the Finals! Jordan has never lost a 3-0 lead in the playoffs like Kobe did to the Suns! Kobe has a better fade away and post up game than MJ??? YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND E!!!! YOU OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T WATCH MJ PLAY... all you saw were highlights from MJ... ask Kobe who he got his post up game and fade away from? Kobe has mimicked MJ since he first started playing! LeBron isn't better than MJ and neither is Kobe!!! all professional ball players from the MJ era have recognized him as the greatest ever compared to today's players! I'm a month older than Kobe and I'm still out running and out jumping young bucks on the court! Have a nice retirement at the age of 37 "old man"!

Think about this before you all rush to anoint Kobe the GOAT: As of tonight, Kobe has played 195 games more than MJ. If MJ scored his career average of 30.1 points per game (which is MUCH higher than Kobe's) for those 195 games, Kobe would need to score 5870 more points to pass MJ. At Kobe's career pace (25.5ppg) it would take Kobe 230 games to get there. Dropping my mic and walking away fellas.

That's a lie Michael couldn't be touched back then. The rules you are talking about were in the 80s. They changed the rules after the Bad boys won back to back. Michael was the favourite child of the Nba look Reggie Michael fight you see who the refs favoured him. MJ deserved the championships he won and he had a great team during his runs. Kobe had to go on a rebuild after shaq left. He was also plagued with more injuries that MJ. For me Michael is better than Kobe but the difference between them is smaller than people think.

I guess my point is that all of these players deserved those awards and show what kind of competition there was playing for those awards. KobeTGOD I've watched Jordan play when he first entered the league. I've also watched Kobe from the time he joined the Lakers. Kobe is extremely gifted, talented and skilled. Yet, Jordan is the better player. Jordan is better defensively, he is more efficient offensively, he is more dominant physically. Jordan was also more clutch in the playoffs and cannot be touched in the finals, not by Kobe or anyone else for that matter. Only 38 seconds to go of the 98 Finals game 6, Bulls down by 3... Jordan scores within 4 seconds, then steals the ball from Malone who was the second best player in the league, then scores again on the final shot with 5 seconds left to win the championship... that's the greatest sequence in basketball history.

biggiejackson I did see that play and it is one of the greatest in FInals history, but it was just one play from Ray Allen. As great as it was, it was not a 'sequence' of plays. A sequence is multiple plays. Jordan didn't just make one great play he made several great plays in sequence (one right after another) in the last minute of the game, pretty much by himself. So, no I'm not dick riding. Show me another Finals SEQUENCE by one player that was better.

The thing about that 1986-1987, is that while Jordan had an astounding personal season, his team had a 40-42, under.500 record. Magic Johnson, who won that MVP, scored a personal best 23ppg, dished 12apg, leading the league in assists, grabbed 6rpg, and had 138 steals while shooting 52% from the floor. The Lakers were also 65-17. The next year MJ won his first MVP and posted similar stats to 1986-87 but his team also was 50-32.

For example Westbrook and d rose are the most explosive point guards we have ever seen in the nba. He might have been a better defender but Kobe had to play with some extreme athletes. These two guys are probably going to be the best we ever see and be thankful your alive to see it. I'm a Kobe fan but respect Jordan but I hate when people call Kobe a ball hogger but Jordan had to do the same thing in order to be one of the greatest basket ball player ever and you can't do that with out having the ball in your hand

really then what do you think about Magic johnson, Iverson, Jason kidd, Carlmalone, reggie miller, kevin garnett, shaquille, motombo, Olajuwon ect what do you call those players? decorations? are you dumb.. they were all great players dealt by jordan and win 6 NBA championship don't speak as if you know better don't compare the present to the past because it's not anywhere near it.. there alot of great players before than you can imagine even Kobe had a hard time dealing with those great players..

Kobe has proven that he can score better than Mj. Kobe passion for the game is bigger than any other basketball player that has ever lived! Mj is kinda over rated having 10 scoring tittles. 6 of them came from averaging 25.6 points per game

What kind of stats are you looking at? Jordan averaged 30.1 for his career including playing well into his late 30's two seasons with the Wizards where he avg'd 23 points a game at the age of 39 and 40.

So you telling me the 56 wins was handed to him? He is also responsible the 3 rings also.if there was Kobe,shaq wouldn't have 3 rings.Kobe had to deal with things on and off the court. Bumping heads with Shaw,the rape charge that he didn't even do.....once again MJ had it better,he had a better team and you know it.....you think MJ not spoiled, he deserves to be spoiled just like Kobe be spoiled. You act like MJ didn't have Phil. What was the point in saying that?

Bk Takover You have made a factually incorrect claim - "6 of Jordan's scoring titles came from averaging 25.6 points per game." You just pulled that out of your ass and hoped no one would know any better. It's very telling when Kobe fans have to lie and distort the truth whenever they are trying to claim he's the best. If Kobe really was the best, don't you think his fans wouldn't have to resort to lying about the stats? Just some food for thought. By the way, here are Jordan's averages for his 10 scoring titles: (1) 37.1ppg, (2) 35ppg, (3) 32.5ppg (4) 33.6ppg (5) 31.5ppg (6) 30.1ppg (7) 32.6ppg (8) 30.4ppg, (9) 29.6ppg (10) 28.7ppg 8 out of the 10 were over 30ppg. Jordan's playoff scoring average was 33.4 ppg as well - about 8 points per game higher than Kobe's (Kobe's is 25.6). Jordan's fg% was also way higher in regular season and playoffs, despite the fact that he averaged so many more points per game than Kobe. In other words, MJ is the far better overall scorer. He averaged significantly more points per game than Kobe, and he did it far more efficiently. Jordan was way, way better than Kobe. Especially the 1987 - 1993 Jordan - the best prime of any player in nba history, by far. Kobe has always mimicked the older Jordan, but never the younger air Jordan. No one's ever come close. And I notice there are absolutely no clips of Jordan in his prime in this video - the only clips in this video are of Jordan from the 1998 season (when he was 35) and from his Wizards years (when he was 40). These comparison videos really are sort of meaningless if you show one players prime vs the other player at retirement age. Jordan in his prime was 1987-1993. And he humiliated the entire league on a nightly basis.

I'm glad he finally learned how to pass....no seriously, he had that 10 game stretch of assist but then he went back to being "Chucky" and kept shooting. He also played only 38 minutes a night not 45 minutes a night. He did not carry the Lakers as they had to play their way in after Kobe got hurt. Dwight Howard also stepped it up late, going 20ppg,13rpg,2.9bpg,1.2spg over the last 20 games.After returning from injury, Pau Gasol also stepped up with 14.8ppg,10.2rpg,5.5apg,1bpg over his last 13.

Accolades MJ has Kobe beat, Skill wise there's no question Kobe was more skilled, MJ never had a three ball as deadly as Kobe's, MJ couldn't pull up from 30.Kobe has a better post up game because he has the dream shake something Michael didn't have, Michael Jordan was faster and stronger but thats about it, they both could get to the basket and draw the foul, they both could dunk it on your head in there primes, and they both were elite defenders. Kobe has 30 game winners, something Michael or anybody else has never achieved. Kobe has better footwork because he's worked with some of the best post players ever. Kobe has elements of every great players game in incorporated in his. He has the dream shake, he has the sky hook, he even has Dirks deadly fade away. He takes what works from everybody's game and uses it in his that's what makes him truly unstoppable.

+E Dude!! You made it sounded like Jordan wasn't better than Lebron James!!! I got even better videos of MJ for you to watch. If you really wanna know MJ'S early NBA history. Checkout "Michael Jordan Mastery" or either, Michael Jordan post moves. Just start with those two first. Then you'll see what i'm talking about. Analogy! Saying that Kobe has better moves or foot works than Jordan,is like saying,jesus is better than God!!! when God was the father of all creations. Point is,MJ created all of his own moves,because he had to! Kobe copied MJ'S moves because he couldn't create his own. Except maybe two! The rest of the 98 percent of the moves were patterned after Jordan. Trust me,i wasn't yelling. Just thought maybe i should let you know, I was only emphasizing a point. So no offense.

+Dean a lot of NBA critics agree that Kobe is more skilled. He has a better jumper and 3 point shot. Defense jordan might be above even tho Kobe has more all defensive 1st teams than Jordan. Kobe is a lot more athletic, Jordan just has better jumping ability. Watch Kobe's 50 top dunks. They're both the best two to every play just face it.

+E What are you smoking man? MJ can finish in the pain way better than Kobe. MJ has a better post up game, up and under, longer hang time, he PASSES OUT OF HIS SHOT TOO,. Did you just say he didn't have the dream shake? If not? Then what was the post up moves vs the blazers in the NBA finals 1992? Clearly you dont know shit. MJ is faster, stronger, quicker, more atheletic, more explosive, smarter, better shot selection, passes better, rebounds better, defends better. They can both get to the basket and draw the foul but MJ can make the and one. Kobe is 7/28 25% in the post season in game winning and tying shots with under 24 seconds left. MJ is 9/18 50% in these situations. Not to mention the more you shoot the higher the chance you will make it and the more you will make. You just said Kobe had the sky hook? fking for real man?... Kobe is one dimensional. If he can't score, hes a liability to the team. He doesn't assist well eg. He can't dominate and take over the game without scoring. Look at MJ, the year he was appointed to playing PG. He went up with 6 consecutive triple doubles, 10 in 11 games. Averaged 33-8-8... Kobes career average PER is also 23 compared to MJs 27.7. Kobes highest ever PER is ONLY 26, to MJs 31.7. Kobe is a very high volume and highly inefficient player. Hes also really good, but hes no MJ.

uh, no. espcailly not when you do advanced stats. Has Lebron ever averaged 37, 8, and 8? No..didn't think so. The last couple seasons, you Lebron has shot a couple percent better than Jordan did in his prime, but that's about it. Jordan didn't have the assist numbers cause that wasn't his role for the most part. He did average 8 assists, which included a steak of 10 triple doubles in 11 games, in 88-89, when Paxon was injured and he had to take over the point. Jordan did whatever he was asked to do in a way that no other player could or will ever do (most likely)-certainly not lebron. I'l enjoy watching lebron choke in the last 5 minutes of big playoff games once again this season. Maybe he won't have ray allen to bail him out this time.

Are you kidding me? Lebron hasn't reached the point where he's passed his prime and his stats go south, and still can't match MJ. MJ has higher PER, ppg, defensive rtg, game-winning %, fg%, playoff ppg, finals mvps, championships. This isn't even close

Corey D haha stat wise. stats dont mean shit when you arent winning championships. when you have a huge steroid body to push everyone around then yea youll win games. jordan didnt need that. he used skill, talent, and finesse to win games. not to mention continuous time and again buzzer beater game winning shots in playoff games.no flopping and no poor sportmanship like lebron. if you think for one minute that even kobe isnt better than lebron then you know nothing about basketball.michael jordan will always be the greatest hands down
@CoreyF84
@CoreyF84 10 жыл бұрын
There are many intelligible means to argue that Jordan was significantly better than lebron was or ever will be. I was merely addressing the statistical comparisons. Any way you cut it, the fact that some people (largely under the age of 14) believe that lebron can even be compared to Jordan is insulting to the history of the game.

If Jordan was playing now, in his prime, he'd still be the cream of the crop. He had multiple skills, both on offense and defense and he knew the angles off the glass, so when fans see him do crazy spin no-look layups and leaner-kiss the rim-dunks, they'd still be creaming their pants. Plus, besides the fancy, he'd be putting up the same crazy numbers, especially with those 2004-2005 rule changes that allow SF, SG, and PGs to roam around like crazy. Oh, Kobe's prime ended in 2009 so yeah, buddy.
