Kohler K161 Engine Startup After Sitting for 40 years!

#shorts - Starting a Kohler Electric Power Plant K161 engine after it's been sitting for at least 40 years! This K161 Power Plant (Generator) was given to me by a friend as a challenge to get it running. It had been sitting untouched in a chicken coop since the 1980s. After pulling the flywheel and cleaning up the points and all contacts, I was shocked to see that the points and condenser were still working! I had planned to make a full-length video out of this project, but it took so little to get it running I thought it would make a decent #short.
Not only was I happy to see the engine run, but I was even more surprised to see the generator still worked with zero effort on my part!
They don't make them like this any longer!
