An absolutely amazing performance. The combination of the African American Spiritual, combined with the classical elements of the orchestra and choir is phenomenal. The lyrics are powerful and inspiring. The arrangement is especially great. Often in pieces like this, the orchestra overshadows the vocals. In this arrangement the incredibly powerful voice of Oehlenschlæger is at the forefront beautifully supported by the orchestra and choir. All and all, an amazing performance, especially by Oehlenschlæger. I particularly enjoyed how much the artist next to Oehlenschlæger seemed to enjoy and respect her singing.

I enjoyed this rendition but, it is absolutely not the best. The best was sung by the singer, song writer and actor Cynthia Erivo at the 2020 Oscars. This is an anthem for those who have been other-ized, a choir of little white kids was distracting.

I agree with Dr. Betty Schueler... I just discovered the Danish National Symphony this morning, and it is the BIGGEST Blessing in musical performance yet. It should be declared a World Treasure, and this very moving performance sets the foundation for doing so. I could feeeeel this in my bones. You could see that the performers were emotionally touched/moved too. I'm crying.......WOW!!!!!!
