I think that Koreans and other people in Asian Countries may not know what the swastika is if they didn't particularly learn about the holocaust in school. I mean they should learn about the holocaust but i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't since in America we learn pretty much nothing about Asian countries in school. The swastika is both a native American symbol called whirling logs and I believe an old Buddhist symbol as well. You can see it on a lot of buildings in the backgrounds of historical fiction kdramas. So people in Asian countries might relate the symbol to the Buddhism meaning first.

My school in the US didn’t even talk about the holocaust until like 10th or 11th grade. I am not making excuses for them, but I also don’t see how it’s right to believe that everyone in the whole world definitely knows about this and has access to this information and that it is common knowledge just because it is for me. I mean it’s a humongous global event and EXTREMELY important but idk how relevant certain things are in their culture. Like everyone in the west knows about this stuff because it’s still all relevant in our daily lives, there are neo-nazis and there are a lot of Jewish people in America, but korea is a very homogenized society and other countries also tend to not find certain things racist that we find racist here.

For illets bloomer situation, I don’t think it’s promoting a “Lolita concept” aka relating to the book of the same name. It’s referencing the “Lolita fashion” aka a Japanese fashion style which is very modest in nature and takes inspiration from Victorian and rococo fashion. (I don’t remember her name) but in another magnetic stage, the girl in the purple dress (she also wore a white one as well but I’m using her in for this example). She looks to be wearing a babydoll dress but with the accessories (headdress, accessories, etc) it reads more like sweet Lolita to me (aka a poofy dress which usually is more cuties then classic and or takes less inspiration from the rococo and Victorian era fashion, usually having elements of sweets, bears, rabbit printed on the dress. Usually it tends to look more casual and less formal than other Lolita fashion styles.) I understand why they are using the term “Lolita” but in the illit situation, it’s a reference to the Japanese fashion style. Especially since we Lolita’s usually wear bloomers as shorts to add extra poof to our dresses and skirts. A lot of the other members had Lolita and other J fashion inspiration. Just wanted to add a different perspective to that situation specifically. The rest of the situations which use Lolita are….smh. They are something else.
