I think that is more true to Yunjin. Yunjin is classical trained singer and is stronger in higher notes. Whenever she sings higher notes she sounds good, but she struggles with low notes. Hybe should give Le Sserafim songs in notes that suits the members.

@@vixxexo6855 Yunjin had mic problems at Coachella. If you watch the whole video and listen for it you'll definitely notice it. Her mic was really low, to the point that when she yells "Make some F@cking noise" she only sounds a tiny bit louder than Chaewon did when she was just singing normally. So it seemed to me like Yunjin was trying to half yell just to be heard and, because of that, she would go off-key and certain points. She wasn't even the only one that had that issue. Kazuha's mic also sounded very low and Lana Del Rey who was the headliner for that day even had that same issue. I do agree that they sometimes give her lines that are too low for her but most of them are in what seems to be her comfortable lower range judging by her "When We Were Young" cover. The most annoying thing is that there are so many videos of Yunjin singing live including her just taking random cover requests during lives but haters point at that one performance and say she can't sing.

Often singers and groups on-stage do not have quality monitoring mixes, this can throw even the best singers as they cannot hear themselves properly. So I would say if this is going to be done LS should work with top quality sound and mixing persons at the venue during rehearsal to make sure the group hear themselves and the track correctly.

@@princecoffee2349 Yes and no. The ranking OP used came from a post that was made on the night of the PD48 finale by someone claiming that the results were all rigged. So, when the truth came out a year or so later, a lot of people took that post as word of God. However, it is provably false at least in part based on what we actually know about the situation. The Korean trainees that received compensation were Chowon and Gaeun which proves that both were supposed to debut, but Chowon is ranked 13th in that list so it can't be accurate. Also, the companies that got in trouble were: Starship, 8D Creative and Woolim. This tells us that their trainees were the ones that benefitted from the rigging. Hyewon was the only trainee from 8D so she's obviously one of the contestants that were rigged in. Additionally, Eunbi was very popular so it's suspected that only Chaewon was rigged in from Woolim. With Yujin and Wonyoung it's confusing. Some people speculate that Yujin got edged out during the finale but a lot of people believe that both were included in the original lineup but only Wonyoung's spot was rigged. This is because Sakura was insanely popular during PD48 and no one could believe that she didn't place first. Starship is also suspected of having a long history with rigging. After it was revealed that one member from IOI was rigged in I think it's pretty unanimous that that member must have been Yunjeong since she was the 11th place and also got some evil editing right before the finale but still made it somehow while the other members were trainees that no one was shocked got in. Additionally, it's suspected that more Japanese trainees should have actually been included in the lineup for PD48 but we don't know because their agencies didn't sue. So that's kind of where we're at. So, yes, it is not the 'real' ranking but it's also not something that the fandom randomly created. It's mistaken as the real ranking because it was attached to a post that accurately announced that the voting was rigged way before that was proven true.

But that’s the problem. She isn’t working hard, or rather, not given an opportunity to work harder/train. Their schedules are too busy for her to find time to actually PRACTICE. She has always had a jam packed schedule. You can’t improve without practicing. Learning a new single, recording it, and performing it is not genuine training/practice with your vocals especially if they are 85% recorded “live vocals” when you’re performing. And ultimately that’s the biggest comment about her. It still doesn’t excuse the discourse and negative remarks towards her but she isn’t working hard to improve at all but that isn’t her fault it’s her companies for not seeing the comments and allowing her adequate time and trainers.

From what I understand the hate after the oncore was mostly just criticism with of course your fraction of antis and trolls, as it always is. Overtime as more people heard about it random people just started hating on her or abandoning the group, but the real kicker started with the comment from her that basicly said that she doesn't listen to anything of this controversy. That's when the hate really started because she also shut down any constructive criticism and incentive to work on their vocals! She doesn't deserve hate but that was really weird of her and kind of let me drop her as a person. Even though as a seasoned Idol she has the right to defend herself from haters the root cause of this all was still kind of her fault for not improving to the industys standards (which are already pretty low at this point). It doesn't really matter how hard your life was, how long and good your training was and how much effort you put in, if you don't come out a decent singer in the end, because as a singer you should be able to hold a note while standing still. (Sometimes mistakes happen and that's ok but if it's all the time it's not a mistake anymore) Results don't care for effort when you're past the starting point. Effort only counts in training. And I hope they take the constructive criticism apart from the hate and build on it to become better artists. I must say though that LS did start to improve their vocals recently so I hope the best for them and check in on their live singing skills again in the future

Sakura is a survivor. The fact that she’s been able to navigate such a shady industry on her own and go from one career height to the next is worthy of respect, especially since half of it was done in a foreign country. Say what you want about her talent but she is a savvy business woman. On top of that it’s obvious she takes care of her juniors, especially Eunchae. And for those that say it’s Hybe’s responsibility to train their artists.. it’s not that black and white. Yes, that’s why they have the trainee system, but when they signed Chaewon and Sakura, it wasn’t for their potential but what they brought to the table now! At this is point in their careers, I’m sure they have barely enough time to keep up with all the choreography, recordings, filmings and performances. Training on top of that would exhaust them. You can’t improve when you don’t have TIME to practice/train and not only that but adequate teachers helping you correct and understand your mistakes, as well as improving your technique. K-POP is a singles market and it moves quickly. They are moving in my opinion a little too fast. You can clearly see HYBE/Source cares more about capitalizing on them rather than perfecting them. Maybe if they had a bit more time between all these activities they would actually have time to get in a classroom and hone their craft. If they keep going at the rate they are they are bound to continue receiving hate and improving at a snails pace. You can turn it around with time and dedication, I mean look at Giselle…

A valuable member of her team regardless of what the haters say. She's beautiful & popular, of course there are jealous haters. Idols, especially these days, have crazy people being awful to them nonstop. We should bring back official positions, it would save idols from being considered lacking in areas that they are not 'officially assigned' you know? Give them a buffer for their struggles in certain areas. Slightly different topic, this probably is one of the hardest fall from grace in awhile for a group ngl and it was all due to a mere encore stage that wasn't much thought about until then. Don't get me wrong, it was quite the fumble but no one imagined how much effect it had; now, other groups focused more and showcased their vocal abilities regardless of level which allowed them to thrive................at the expense of LS sadly. Honestly she needs to switch companies. Sakura is a talented girl with potential but she lacks freedom to grow in her craft. When producing an idol group their's sometimes a idea of the groups image planed beforehand. The switch from cute to bold style was shocking to see Sakura in, yet she managed it well. The real problem is no one helping her with vocal stamina. It's one thing for a tone of voice to fit a specific genre, it's another to have technique to sing any genre.

I criticized her singing ability despite her 12 yrs of experience being idol but I respect her passion and persuading her dream continuously so I don’t blame her but I blame HYBE for not giving proper vocal training for their idol before debuting its just like sending soldiers to the war without any equipment. This. I always use Hyeri from Girl's Day as an example because she's someone that was admittedly tone deaf (She actually called herself that) but was still the most popular member of her group. Literally no one criticized her for her singing and, if anything, as the main dancer she got some criticism for not being as good as other main dancers but yet she was (and is to this day) usually hyped up as a good dancer. And now she's super famous as an actress who still sometimes sings randomly during games on variety shows but no one ever mentions the fact that she's a former idol who can't sing at all.

I think the problem lies on how there are no strong singers on LSFM. Yeah, there was a tone deaf individual on every group but also a vocal line. And most people defend the other girls over being rookies so all the weight has been put on Sakura. She's the oldest and most experienced. Should she be able to sing her lines? Yes. Does she deserve all the hate? No, no one does. I honestly feel bad for LSFM, they've been thrown to the wolves by the company.

i've watched produce48 from start to finish. indeed her performance wasn't good enough for A grade. i doubted that the producers were trying to pacify japanese audience. but it is not her fault. one of the japanese contestant told in 1st episode that the style of kpop and what they have been doing in Japan till now was completely different. while kpop focuses on vocal aspects and dancing capabilities, japanese songs were more focused on the singer trying to look as "kawaii" as possible. Sakura trained all her life to look kawaii, and going to produce48 was a completely different ball game for her.

Most importantly though, the Liancourt Rocks are as Japanese as they are Korean; that's why I think it's unfair to use the Korean name. It's not a right-wing claim btw. In Japan, every single party supports the Liancourt Rocks being Japanese, even the ones that support the Statue of Peace and are against visiting Yasukuni shrine (like the Kyousantou) support it. The US and Canada literally have a share claim to an island on the East coast and they don't argue about it, even if by rule of land you could give birth there and you will be a citizen of both countries. Japan and Korea follow the rule of blood, meaning that if someone would give birth on the island, they would take their parents' citizenship. This dispute is the single dumbest way to ruin a relationship between two countries. Beyond Hybe, Sakura is Japanese and she can say whatever she wants regarding the islands. That should not be an issue in the first place

What are you even arguing right now? Sakura never called Dokdo Takeshima. Some netizens made up a bizarre theory that LSF's song was Japanese propaganda and claimed that Sakura's boobs coming out of the water represented Dokdo, lol. If Sakura actually called Dokdo Takeshima she would be run out of Korea in an instant and blacklisted for life. Koreans don't play with that. As someone that actually lived there... it's Dokdo in the East Sea and you had better make sure you only use those names or you'll offend the entire country. Hell, if you're on the train that goes to or from Incheon Airport you'll see videos playing with Japanese, Chinese and English subtitles that explain why Dokdo belongs to Korea. It's that serious and is a matter of pride for the country that stems back to the Japanese occupation. Dokdo is just a symbol of that and the relationship would be just as bad if Dokdo didn't exist. And Japan is to blame for a lot of that because they refuse to own what they did and instead happily admit that they hide the truth from their citizens by not teaching the real history in Japanese schools. This is why a lot of Japanese people are shocked when they come to Korea and hear about why Koreans hate the Japanese government.

Her own statements certainly haven't helped things, but she is very much a product of circumstance. She focused on "aegyo" because that's what got popularity as a Japanese idol in her situation. Already barely any vocal training. Then going from that reality show to HYBE, still very little. It's like the only training she got was for the reality show, which wasn't nearly enough since she was basically starting from scratch. Then HYBE rushed to debut her, and still little vocal training, even tho HYBE has so much money. They were more concerned with debuting the group before New Jeans out of spite than the actual preparedness of the members. Usually groups have YEARS training together before debut. They had months. All HYBE cares about is money. All Bang PD cares about is money. Sick of delusional company stans who think that supporting HYBE helps the groups at all. Just throwing it out there but I don't believe it was out of spite at all. Given Sakura's age and bargaining power, I would expect that she had some kind of guaranteed debut window included in her contract. They might have also included the same thing in Chaewon's contract. I think Hybe thought it would be fine but then, when NJ got delayed, they had to push forward with LSF's debut anyway. At least this is my guess since Sakura is already the oldest 4th gen idol (as in, she debuted at a later age then anyone else. I know that G-Idle Miyeon at the very least is older than her but Miyeon debuted at 21).
