Lolita, the pedo book and Lolita, the Japanese fashion style have nothing to do with each other. Lolita fashion was created to take inspiration from Victorian and rococo fashion and is not meant to be sexualized or seen as erotic in any way unless you are dressing in ero-Lolita (a substyle that uses corsets, garters, sheer fabrics, etc to enhance typical lolita style). Coming in to comment on the lolita section. I do not want to come off as rude, but you have the concept of lolita completely wrong. It does NOT depict "short skirts" and underage girls. It is a fashion based off of renaissance, and mostly rococo style. It is actually a more modest style, always wanting the skirt/dress to be longer, and covering the chest and shoulders (with some exceptions). There are many facebook groups and even youtubers you can watch to learn more. I suggest LovelyLor and scarfingscarves. Just wanted to say as opposed to many people's views Lolita fashion is completely separate from the book Lolita which you know is super inappropriate. It is basically a cute Japanese street fashion with imfluence from victorian and edwardian fashion. Many people who wear the fashion do not intend to be juvenile or sexual. In fact true lolita fashion is actually very Conservative cute and covers much of the body and has no secure undertones. Lolita just happens to share a name with a book. If that was intentional choice I don't know but what I do know is that Lolitas (Avid lolita fashion wearers) do not intend to make themselves into raunchy children. Lolis just like a very adorable type of dressing and like to express themselves.

I wish people stopped calling it the "Nazi's symbol", it has been in my religion and culture for several thousands of years. It has been deemed inappropriate to such an extent that many Hindus can't even have tattoos of our swastika on our bodies, or many Hindus residing in the West can't even draw a Swatika outside their houses on religious occasions such as Durga puja, Diwali, Navratri, etc. without getting called as Nazi supporters. Why is nobody talking about Jimin scandal ! I still can’t believe that Jimin thought it would be a good idea the wear this t-shirt. It was a poor idea. Yes, Japanese did horrible things during the war and what they did to Korean was disgusting too. People seem to forgot that it was a war and people do horrible things during those times. The atomic bomb of Nagasaki et Hiroshima killed so many innocent live. He should have known better. About jhyo outfit, it was super inappropriate because one it’s not her culture and two it’s stereotypical and have nothing to do with what real native outfit look like. Sadly it’s not the first time something like that happen in kpop, in BigBang’s BangBang music video, g-dragon wore a traditional headpiece which is even more inappropriate. About the short outfit, sadly it’s not uncommon, some agence use that to get men attention and make more money out of it. It’s not surprising that some female idol don’t feel comfortable around me.
@markleeswatermelon92633 жыл бұрын
some native Americans address this and most of them didn't really felt offended by these but the g-dragon one had mixed emotions. they also said that the paint the idols wore in their faces wasn't really offensive because some of them doesn't represent a tribe or anything at all. and using some headpieces with feathers isn't that offensive either because it doesn't use a specific feather that natives traditionally use. about gd's headpiece most of them said that it is offensive in a way but they don't consider it deep because of the feather used (assuming that it was fake) but they also said that the headpiece was sacred for them but they still accepted it. you can find it on youtube
