Being a corporation is so much more different than simply being an ent. company like the Big 3 They don't treat idols as artists with different colours but as products to make money. Even Bang ShiHyuk has said he wanted to remove the k from kpop. NewJeans growth was organic (as possible, considering they are from HYBE), ILLIT, I wish the best to the girls, isn't. It's weird to get so many brand deals and records with barely 40 million views and almost nobody actually knowing the members lol. I don't blame either of the groups since they have no control over their concept and all. BUT NWJS kinda siding with Heejin shows that maybe ADOR's CEO threats her idols well. I see this as Bang Si Hyuk wanting to make his own version of New Jeans since he couldn't control New👖 with Min Hee Jin on the way. He saw the public's reaction to NJ concept, copied the formula and tweaked it a bit so it woudn't be 100% the same but still has similar vibes. Now he has full control of the other grup and can make them bigger than NJ with promotions, songs and projects. EDIT: This is probably why Min Hee Jin was so angry with HYBE copying them. HYBE can give the other group all the resources to make them the next most popular girl group but with Min Hee Jin's copied gg formula.

I'm glad you've talked about it because, outside of Korean media, everyone is siding against Min Hee Jin. I don't approve of her methods but it's clear that Hybe is copying her concept. They saw how well NewJeans's concept worked and are now just blatantly copied it. HYBE owns ADOR and NJ that's clear AF, but if she asked for more decision-making powers (aka be able to sign big contracts without having to go through hoops) and HYBE hit her with a lawsuit for trying to steal the company that's not right. As a CEO she should at least be able to voice concerns without being dismissed and then sued. Just saying she should shut up and let them do what they want is nuts to me. New Jeans is a fairly new group, but HYBE was not helping New Jeans with any type of promotion at all, especially compared to Leserrafim and ILLIT. It's pretty clear. All i know is that the first pic I saw of Illit was the one at the PFW and I legit thought they were Newjeans at first glance. I feel like people genuinely don’t understand how and why min heejin is saying what she is saying. There are some groups in Kpop whose strength lays exactly in their distinctive concepts and sounds. New Jeans is one of those. You can easily hear 20 seconds of a New Jeans song or a few shots of a music video and point out easily that that’s their work because they have established such an identity that sets them apart from everyone else. Another example of this is Aespa. (I’m not trying to drag aespa in the convo, just using them as an example). Aespa as a group has such a distintive image, aesthetic and sound that is really hard to explain but is just so… Aespa. This is an efficient way for groups to establish a brand and put a ‘mark’ on their representative colors to set them aside in the over saturated, over repetitive industry of Kpop. In my opinion, it is pretty clear what happened here. Bang Si Hyuk realized at some point that New Jeans was having a massive success worldwide, but that he would’ve never been able to control them as a group as long as Min Heejin was the conversation, so he decided to make his own girl group, copied the formula, tweaked it down bit so it wouldn’t be 100% obvious and planned to make them even bigger than New Jeans with appearances and promotions. And let’s not even talk about the rumors of their choreographies replicating sounds and choreos from small artists because I don’t even know what to say there… Honestly, I just wish people would understand the point. Min Heejin is a bad person and she has said a not of nonsense but this isn’t the case. Seeing people on Twitter justifying this by showing some random pictures saying ‘’ILLIT is not copying New Jeans because Wonhee is wearing a white shirt while Minji is wearing a white blouse!!!!’ Like... be SOOO fr. You know well that everyone thought magnetic was a NJS song the first time they heard it. Going back to the aespa example… if SM Entertainment released a new girl group with the same formula as aespa where the differences are almost unnoticeable don’t you think that everyone and their mothers would be riding at dawn because of that? This is the same thing. Neither aespa and New Jeans have CREATED their concepts, but they are the ones who popularized it and who represent it the most in the industry, I think they have a right to feel kinda iffy about it. ILLIT is not to blame, but I’d honestly be a bit pissed if I was a New Jeans member.

regardless of how crazy min heejin behaved or whatever, and regardless of how new jeans may not own y2k concept or that they copied a Japanese girl group from 2 decades ago, it doesn't change the fact that no matter how you deny it, an outsider would probably not be able to discern the difference between the two groups at all, I can't deny that the vibe concept songs are similar enough, the song in itself is not plagiarised but the whole vibe of it and the photos the debut and even the hair and make up.... kind of identical tbh... if you showed someone their photos and songs, they may even think they were the same group... like the hair thing.... the crazy hair that's practically part of the choreo I think I first noticed that in bp's debut in 2016 but it can't be said that new jeans plagiarised it from them considered they never carried the concept and its not like bp were the first groups to do it and it was different enough. but the way illit did the hair and make up thing you can't deny that they look identical, like they made the natural long black an essential part of their debut image and so did illit. I mean no hate to illit at all I have magnetic playing on repeat but even the song itself reminds me of new jeans debut songs. Like if another company debut illit, a company that had no relation to hybe (is there even any) like same sm or yg, this would definitely not fly with anyone. what this all is, is that hybe found that new jeans was explosively successful, so they templated them....and they used the template on illit, and well that worked really apparently. anyways good luck to both gg, they are all so young so even if there was bad blood between the both groups, it would be because all these girls are still growing and not yet mature and developing emotionally and mentally, there could be bad blood but because they are all so young it would not be malicious, and they would all grow out of it understanding that all 10 of them are no different to pawns being controlled by rich greasy old men.

I won't lie, when I first watched Magnetic I instantly saw the similarities. Yes, NewJeans is not the creator of the 90s/Y2K style, but you can't deny that they brought it back to a very saturated and repeated industry. They were indeed a breath of fresh air.

Had it been a group from some other label, they would have been sued by now with fans supporting it. Too many similarities, 1)their pre-debut fw appearance, in which their styling was similar to nwjns, that time everyone regardless of anything was saying that they thought it was new jeans. And still sometimes their styling is similar. 2)their hanbok photoshoots has so many similarities, you can tell the motive behind it 3) although dance steps don't have copyright, but there are some dance steps in a choreo that are considered to be associated to that group only. Like, bts' i need u, aespa's next level, sunmi's gashina, exo's love shot. You can't say that a new group can just add their point choreo part in their choreo and their respective fans will be quite about it.

It's quite funny how ILLIT won against BM even when BM's music video got so many views. Winning a lot of awards and having brand deals they all don't seem legit. ILLIT doesn't deserve all the attention and the damn awards when their vocals suck even in encore stage?? Hybe just running after money... Want to make a lot things clear 1)The fight not solely on concept. But mr bang has previous record of being notorious to use hate against any group via fanwars. The concept thing is literally fed to people by mr bang because he knows what will serve hate toward mhj and so no one would be interested to know the truth from her side. Take example of Jennie and v dating scandal yg even gave out statement but what did hybe put out nothing. Suga situation where he even had to report to police but the company did not even care to release any public warning so with that i'll state my second point 2)The company do not care about their artist example 1 kim garam where they didn't even wait for final statement of court and threw her out of the group and you could say but gidle also went through same if you remember soojin first was on hiatus and then entertainment took their time and threw her out but here she was not even protected or asked to resume her activities for sometime but work and we all saw audience reaction clips of kim garam . Example 2 leserrafim received so much hate for bad vocal but boy did the company tried to do anything no and even bought fake reviews of Coachella and deleted all tweets against leserrafim performance not for artist but for the name of their group name of company .
