It’s interesting how both Garam and Soojin were accused of bullying but were then said to be the ones getting bullied. I don’t know about other cases, but I wonder if it’s the same for anyone else. I’m inclined to believe that the bullies, now jealous, are out to get them and ruin their careers. I was bullied in school too and I would never tell their bosses and publicise it in an attempt to ruin their lives. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d much rather have the bully gone from my life than go through a battle like the accusers have. I really wish Soojin would come back though. She really was amazing

From what I have gotten from the friend the person who complained was the older sister and the younger sister and SSJ was part of a certain group in 7th grade and Soojin drifted away from them in 8th grade. The younger sister was still part of the said group and they started outing Soojin after that since she stopped hanging out with them. Which means that they started bullying her. Then came the issue where she was called to report or something and her mom came rushing because she was told that something happened to Soojin. Soojin was actually the victim in that issue and not the perpetrator. Which debunks what SSA said about Soojin bullying her. Also SSA was friends with that younger sister.

It’s a common bullying tactic, actually. To accuse your victim of bullying you first. I imagine the accusers must be very jealous to see the success of the other person, and jealous people will often go to extremes to take down the person they are jealous of.

There is one other famous case, with the group AOA where a group member (Mina) accused another member (Jimin) of bullying her troughout their many years of AOA's carieer. Jimin got unspeakable amount of hate for it but it was later revealed that it was most likely the other way round; the accuser (Mina) was the one who was bullying Jimin. And no I don't think it's only you, I think it seems more common for the people who are bullied to forgive or try to forget and move on rather than try to get revenge or apology. Logically speaking why wanna try involving yourself with the bully again when they're not in your life anymore? I could be wrong but so many bullying accusations seem to point at the theory that the bullies are actually the ones who get jealous and try ruining the lives and carieers of their victims once more. This is why I dislike the cancel culture so much, because so many innocents have fallen to the false accusations of bullies, with help of the cancel culture mob. Even if they prove they're not guilty the deeper damage has already been done and many people are still gonna remember the victims as being the "bullies"

Actually, true. She is the famous one and the leader. They actually became more famous after the scandal. No offense to fans but the group really thrives at their peak. Actually, there are some groups who really thrived after a scandal and this is why some fans accuse agencies promoting groups or new groups using a scandal.. 😅 not saying it’s a particular group but it happened a lot of times. Maybe Kokielit can make a video on who actually thrived after the scandal or who regained fame, or groups/agencies accused of using scandal as a marketing strategy to promote the groups. Anyway, I agree with you. As long as Soyeon is there, G-idke will thrive.

I think one of the biggest reasons they were able to stay afloat comes down to their leader. Don't get me wrong, the efforts of the entire group to continue to put on fierce performances despite all they went through of course had a huge part to play in their success. But with Soyeon's extensive talents for writing and producing music, she continued to make hits for them that were not only tailored to the individual members (ensuring that no one was left with an extra part or one that didn't suit their voice types), but also a variety of songs and styles that just fit their brand. The sound and aesthetic are always something new for the audience which keeps them interested, but are still close enough to the vibes that G-IDLE has always maintained that when you hear it, you know that's a G-IDLE song. Other groups might not have survived without a leader like her or a company that had already invested so much they weren't going to falter and let the group die- MONSTA X is an example of this. They have great producers within the group, but Starship had already begun a huge international campaign to push them, so there was no way they would allow the group to burn out. In G-IDLE's case, I think it really came down to the members (especially Soyeon) to pull the team out of the wreckage, especially when you consider that CUBE had/has other upcoming groups that they could have shifted focus towards if it became clear that G-IDLE was not salvageable.

Not to mention they were able to use the scandal to their advantage - don’t get me wrong it’s absolutely HORRIBLE what happened to soojin and 6idle. But they were smart with how they went about it. Their marketing strategy was out of this world. Not to mention they really fed into the narrative of “what was going to happen to them” and used the scandal/drama as momentum to help skyrocket their career to where it is. Truly genius. However I still miss ot6 idle dearly. Doesn’t feel the same - but regardless I’m still extremely proud of their success - I just wish that they all could’ve made it there together

100%. Her leadership is so admirable. The thing about Soyeon is that she's HUNGRY. I'm talking like, anime protagonist hungry. She's always looking for ways for her and her group to not only rise and go to the next level, but in the most impactful and meaningful way as possible. She certainly has her worries and doubts but at the end of the day she wants her team to win in the best way possible and absolutely be on top. She loves proving people wrong. I read somewhere on twitter that during a fan call, a fan told her that the concept photos of Nxde were badly received initially but then everyone loved it after Nxde got released, and the fan asked Soyeon if this was her plan. Soyeon said it was all planned and she actually expected to be criticized and cursed for the entire week. The fan asked if she was afraid of the hate, and Soyeon said something like what they did wasn't wrong, so she wasn't concerned at all. I think she has such strong beliefs and ambitions--really, her drive is the fire of IDLE.

Shuhua is now brimming with confidence and popularity and we know how blunt she can be with critics. I’m not here to compare which idol deserves better and which agency dealt with their respective talents’ bullying scandals until it was done and dusted, I’m just here to state that whatever Soojin decides to do next, all we need to do is respect whatever that decision may be. The most important thing is that she is happy. We can adore Soojin the idol, but we must also consider the feelings of Seo Soojin the human being, the woman. If she wants to continue pursuing a singing or dancing career as a soloist, or an acting career, great. If she decides retire from the Kpop industry amd live like all of us, it’ll be a shame, but we just gotta respect her decision. I don't believe the rumors were true and I think it's already been proven that Soojin is innocent but even if it was true, while bullying is extremely wrong, I don't understand the logic behind someone's career as an adult being ruined over something they did when they were 13/14 years old. Not only was that a child making a mistake, we are not who we were as children. I'm just glad that Soojin is back as a solo artist and that the girls have never forgotten her and keep incorporating Soojin in small aspects of their work (the cartoon in Nxde having a mole under her eye and being heavily inspired by Soojin's idol; multiple songs about Soojin; and more recently "Revenge"'s mv directly referencing Soojin's birthday). The girls haven't forgotten about her and neither have fans. Idk if we can hope for Soojin to join the group again after their contract is up in a year but I wish that we will at least get some interactions when they're no longer forbidden to interact in public.

I hate that when allegations like this happen, the conclusion is usually the same, that a member leaves because they don't want to bring harm to the group any longer, even if they are innocent. And I applaud them for doing so, for not being selfish and thinking of everyone else instead, but a lot of the times there ends up being no conclusive evidence to anything and they end up leaving without the truth ever coming to light. I wish idols and companies would be more willing to wait til all the investigating is done before making a huge decision on removing someone from the group. And I wish fans would wait for the evidence to come out before jumping to conclusions and taking sides. There are always three sides to every story, the first person, the second person, and the actual truth.

I think Soyeon's allegations got disproven like days after the posts as people quickly pointed out the timelines the accuser was giving didn't line up with Soyeon's. Also, not sure if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that Soyeon was homeschooled through most of her childhood, and when she did go to high school, she only had a few friends because most of her time was spent in Idol training. I can't remember where I read that, so take that with a grain of salt.

Seo Shin Ae is actually a devil 🥺 She destroyed Soojin for no reason and just kept silent when the truth was revealed. Is that fair for our Soojin, she was nice, and kind, and cared about everyone she met, then after all that’s what she received. 😢😢 after 3 years I still can’t believe what I have seen at that time. Both CUBE and HYBE are to blame here, they literally allowed the real bullies to win and destroyed innocent people's hard work. I really wish there was a poetic justice but sadly what you learn from life is, bad people win most of the time. Best you can do is to be ready for it and adapt as fast as you can. If you sink low and don't fight back they only get worse. Best of luck and strength to Soojin and Garam. I learned all of these things much later but my heart will always be with them.
