My last bias is haerin from newjeans but then my friend asked me to watch the universe ticket with her. I fell in love with gehlee right away. She's so kind and very pretty. How can I ignore her? She is charming and cute. I don't even know anything about the beauty pageant but I searched about it cause I want to know more about her. I wasn't really a fan of Gehlee initially because compared to the other contestants, her dance is quite off when you look at it individually (which is pretty important in KPop) but when I learned that she never had a single training in dance since she joined Universe Ticket, I slowly became impressed on how she can still somehow keep up with the others.. Overtime, I learned to love her because of many things.. Not to mention her visuals, she has that cant help but notice aura when you see her.. She also has good vocals (though underutilized even now). She has a great personality as she get along really well with the other girls not only in UNIS but also when she was in Universe Ticket.. She doesn't bring down other contestants when they had comment interviews and you can see how the other girls really adore her

literally from the first battle she caught my eye when she chose jayla because “i’m the pretty girl, she’s the queencard and together we’ll be the perfect match” i thought it was so humble of her. and throughout the show she always praises the other girls and works hard to be “as good as them” in dancing, like she said in the nan competition. she was so bright and optimistic it’s sad seeing people bully her and call her a “pick me” 🙁

I don’t comment frequently but I just wanted to share my thoughts (as others have). I don’t know much about Gehlee but she sounds like she’s a beautiful, talented, and hardworking individual who legitimately enjoys what she’s doing. Netizens/haters are always so picky about what they like and don’t like about idols and it’s so easy to cast judgement behind a screen. I’ve been an on and off kpop fan for almost 15 years and the standards fans have (while many are reasonable) of idols has gotten toxic at times. There’s some weird and extremely particular expectation of what some might justify as “professionalism” as an idol that they hammer down on more and more these days, especially with young idols. I hope Gehlee continues to be the shining star she is, regardless of the hate, and gets the recognition she so deserves. Rooting for you Gehlee!

People don’t understand that Filipino entertainers have a sense of stage presence and charisma and charm that is normal in their culture. It does come off as fake and trying too hard sometimes but she was literally in pageants. Think about why LSF Sakura was so popular in Japan but seen as less talented in Korea. One thing I know apply to the society we live. People begin to hate someone/something simply because they are different. This hate is similar to the fear of the unknown. Growing up, I knew that to majority of the society, being different is a crime. They'll hate you as if your difference hurt them. But that hate is just a mask to cover what they truly feel (fear).
