JT Taylor is all class. At about 5 lifetime achievement awards, original Kool and the Gang members(DT, Ronald Bell, George Brown, and Kool) did NOT even invite JT to the awards and he was not honored. All with the exception of the Songwriters Hall of Fame which forced Kool and the Gang to invite JT. At all those lifetime achievement ceremonies, they didnt even mention JT in their speeches. But here today, sadly with Charles Smith, DT, Kaylis, and George all gone, JT pays tribute to them. The man who was Kool and the Gang, who gave them their fame, and is the male "voice", showed what a real man is. Your Mom is watching over you James and is very proud. We your fans are blessed to have you and your voice and music in our lives.

J.T. was my very first crush. Kool in the Gang was also my very first concert. It was at Six Flags Over Texas. Aomerime in the 70a. I was about 10.😂😂😂😂😂 He STILL looks absolutely AMAZING!

They came a long way from the battle of the local bands on Fridays at the vocational technical high school on Sussex Avenue in Newark and other communities. And don't sleep their jazz capabilities. To highlight and provide an example of the versatility of this group...listen to Summer Maddness ...a much underrated, under played favorite and classic for those who knew. J.T.TAYLOR the singer is 71 years old, his voice is almost the same as in 1978..just a little more bass in frequency. Superb! (his solo album "baby im back" from the 90's is great I recommend it)

Can't get enough of that "Funky stuff," was the first song that I heard from Kool and the Gang. Its when they were called instrumenalists instead of rhythm and blues artists. Kool was right. They were jazz artists who needed the work so its obvious that they were influenced by the greats.
