Thanks for another entertaining masterclass. My key to casting reliable and precise over 30 wraps is not releasing the line with your finger to early. Like that, the rod can start to accelerate the lead by unloading and it goes and goes… I cast with 3.25 lbs 12 ft rods…

Modern carp anglers need so lessons in set ups of rods & reels. In the early 90s onwards for a few years, this was very important. 3 rods so close together that reel handles needed to be tucked under another. It was harder to set up properly that catch them. Carp Cred on the Bank.

I’ve just got back into fishing again and have some questions if anyone can help? 1. The constant spombing, does this not spook the fish? 2. Is 10/12kg of bait out not excessive? Any explanations, thanks in advance!!
@Faargkjidmip Жыл бұрын
Answer to both questions is it depends. Spombs may spook fish on one lake, but I’ve also seen fish being attracted to the spombing (high stock lakes). That amount of food on low stock lakes is ridiculous indeed, but again it all depends. In my experience it’s better to start with too little bait. You can always add more but you can’t take it out once baited

If fairness mate all depends on the lake your fishing why don't you experiment one rod against other two? I.e fish one away from the two and spod regularly and see what happens there's no magic other than suck it and see pal

You could buy a set of three 13 ft Shimano TX2 intensity for one of these Daiwa rods and and still have plenty of Change and you can still it 200 yards in the right hands as Terry does
@Kingcarparpeggio Жыл бұрын
Where can you fish at 150yds let alone 200 yds ??….. and can you put a Spomb to those ranges !!!….forget it mate and carry on fishing those 15 to 20 wrap spots.
@markmason13 Жыл бұрын
Thing with the tx2 rods are that they are made with a 3k carbon weave so have a high resin volume compared to rod made out of a 1k carbon weave, meaning that the 3k carbon rod will go softer faster.
@maxoneson9616 Жыл бұрын
@markmason13 or you can buy Shimano TK 2 for £100 each so you could get 5 to every one Daiwa rod therefore the Shimano Outlast the Daiwa 15 Shimano rods to 3 Daiwa rods

There is a story about Mr Peck fishing Rockford lake in ringwood where you could use bait boats to put your mix over the bait you casted out ! Rigs could not be dropped by boat . The myth goes the baylif questioned Mr Peck over him using his boat that far out as no one casts that far .. Mr Peck reeled in then smashed his rig too the horizon.. is this true?

So having very expensive rods on a very expensive & exclusive venue rammed with huge fish will help you catch huge fish?
@Kingcarparpeggio Жыл бұрын
No, having the ability to get your bait to the fish will help you catch huge fish …..if they’re there. No venue is exclusive, but people like you probably expect to just walk on there and yes it will be expensive because of the head of good carp. Get real son, you’re living in a dream world. Take my advice if you want to fish venues like Pecky is fishing, start looking now and get your booking in now for next year or possibly the year after. Good luck.
