Good effort, Indonesia in fairness showed competitive moments in the game and even managed to cut the lead to 8 points but South Korea is just the better team period. I don`t think Indonesia is good enough to finish top 8 this August to qualify to the world cup. Even with Jowato or their young star derek, other teams in Asia has also talented veterans and young players. Other teams like Syria, Guam, Saudi shows more promise. Even Thailand managed to keep the game competitive against an older and taller South Korean team, remember that this South Korea them that they sent for the Clark bubble is a team without their strongest and taller players.

Pero football p rin ang main passion nila pero hirap din silang manalo sa Vietnam at Thailand. Tayo, nakakalungkot kasi kulang p rin suporta natin sa football. Nasanay tayo sa fast pace scoring tulad ng basketball at volleyball kaya pag sa football, feeling natin boring yun lalo na pag 0-0 ang score. Sa japan, tatlong popular sports sa buong mundo, meron silang naproduce na players na dekalibre. Ang dami sa football at baseball. Ngayon hachimura at watanabe. Hindi ako hater ni kai pero pag naglaro ang dalwang un sabay para sa japan at nakalaban natin with this present line up, tagilid tlaga tayo.

Actually, indonesia is a strong contender now, they just need another center that can protect the rim and get rebounds while prosper is resting. Prosper looks fatigued in this game and cant go all out unlike when he was playing in the Philippines.

Even if they have Lester Prosper and Brandon Jawato at the court the result will be the same. As long as the other local players will not improve, indonesia will not get pass through Philippines in South East Asia. The reality is that Indonesia is small but not that skilled and quick enough to play with taller and more physical player from other countries.

The question is can Indonesia sustain their program all through out until the professional level? And to what I see is that the team that represented the PH is NU Bullpops. Not even the top schools like Ateneo, La Salle, UST or FEU. I don't know what comprises that team PH but its good to know Indonesia beat the Philippines. As long as they learn from the game it is nice.

That's how gilas was like when bansot loving coaches were playing the Castro(5'10), Wright(6'2), Abueva(6'1) backcourt lineup, the only difference is we had at least some soft fragile big baby players who stands at least 6'9 like Japeth and Fajardo with Blatche soloing the offensive package. Indonesia seems to still be in the Pingris era with their 6'2 small forwards and 6'5 power forwards.
