In our revamped recipe, no need to add any salt! The ratio of 5 cups of rice water with 2 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce is perfect!👌It took us 3 batches to get nail down the measurements heh... so enjoy!!

I made this the other day... and while I am a fan of you guys and all your other food... this did not taste nice :( Too much sesame oil + your alternative suggestion to use anchovy kelp stock --> really masked out the clean flavours you get in more traditional recipes. You should not suggest alternatives if they aren't going to taste good. Complete waste of my money, effort, ingredients and my time. Some of your other recipes are spectacular while others aren't so great... I wish you guys were more consistently great and reliable, then I don't have to waste time testing it out before serving it to people other than myself. I wasted so much food trusting you guys with this one - my husband couldn't eat it and I had to chuck it out.

I just want to say my daughter and I have made this delicious recipe at least 3 times this week (she's getting over a stomach thing and this helped her so much!). I've made this once before using another recipe with lots of steps, BUT there's just something so rustic and flavorful about the simplicity in your recipe, like that of a mommy for her baby. Thank you so much! From a grateful mommy, Dan-yul and KT!💖

yoooo brings me back to my childhood!! my family used to go damn near every week to this awesome place called 'koreana palace' which had this sick fountain bridge entrance and some really great authentic ambience to it. i remember my favorite thing as a kid was always this soup. the lady who ran the place was always so nice to us and knew exactly what the kids' order was gonna be when we walked in :') .... fresh rice, muguk, and a sprite haha those were the good ole days. most definitely gonna be making a big pot of this for the winter!

So I am a Korean American that has a very big pacific influence. I was born in America but raised in a US pacific island territory. I used to make Solungtang, ox tail soup, the korean way but my Turkish adopted American wife wanted more flavor. So I started to make a hybrid soup that is crossed with the Filipino Sinigang soup and he Korean ox tail soup into one. I add in bok choy, green beans, and radish with tamarind and oyster sauce and other simple seasonings in.

I am going to make this soon - Daniel, you say to use the white part of the radish for this. What recipes can I use the green part of the radish? Radish kimchi?
@FutureNeighbor
@FutureNeighbor 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use the green portion for Radish Kimchi (깍두기)... But TBH, you can use the green part for this soup too! The white has a slightly more sweeter juice to it... where as the green part as more of the "radishy" flavor in it.

I was doing some math to figure out how to cut this recipe down, cause I can't (or really shouldn't) eat that much soup. So here's my take on it. (I know you probably don't need this anymore, but other people might? IDK I'm just gonna share my speculation and go) Since there's 5 cups broth + so many ingredients + juice from the radish = I'm approximating it to be about 5-6 cups of soup which, depending on how big you make the serving, can be about 3-5 servings!!
