I’d simmer the sauce on a frying pan so the sugars can caramelize a bit to thicken the sauce to evenly coat and stick to the wings without getting drippy and soggy

I think I'd substitute the sugar with honey so the sauce is thicker and coats the chicken wings 😋

I asked my mum to make this last Sunday and it was SO good! Instead of Mirin we used 1/3 cup rice vinegar with additional sugar around 2Tbs, we eye balled it 😂. I tasted it time from time and went from their. Best fried chicken ever! I'm recommending it to all my friends!

Yummy!!! Delicious. I used 2 tbsp of brown sugar instead of 3 because I’m a salt lover and 2 tbsp was perfect. I got all the ingredients from my local Korean market. The garlic in the sauce was amazing. I was using my fingers to scrape the garlic off the bottom of my plate because the garlic was delicious. Thank you so much. My mother taught me how to make garlic chicken, but I remember it being so much crunchier at my aunties and uncles house when I was younger. The sempio tempura mix solved that problem. Now it’s just like I remembered it when I was a child. Next time I’m going to mix the chicken and sauce in my wok.

When frying chicken at the temp of 350 degrees, when the batter or crumbs are golden brown to the verge of dark golden it is done, the only exception to this cooking rule is if you are using very thick bone in breasts, then a meat themor is needed. When you fry chicken a few thousand times it becomes second nature, timer never work, it is ready when it is ready since every device is different, times are a pointless accord until you get your hands dirty using your oven and stove top

Just regular chinese cooking wine, or if you cannot find it, use cooking sherry. The wines function is to add a depth of flavor, in other words it helps to single out the flavors of each spice used and adds a sweet taste without extra sugar as well as helps to thicken the sauce itself. Some do not like to use it, until the learn what it does. There are cooks and chef's in the world, the taste of the food is what proves who is what.
