I like the free boots rune but honestly I personally prefer to have my hp as high as possible against ranged match ups so I would usually take the second wind rune. Great game though! Have a good day Riste!

This is a solution that Korean Garen players came up with to handle Gnar. There are some risks in not taking resolve so this is more of a daring playstyle with a more potent payout if you can get away with it. I'd say go with whatever level of confidence you have and pair that level with either resolve or inspiration if it's higher.
