Does anyone else just love their relationship. They respect each other while being mother and daughter but are clearly friends as well. It’s refreshing to see.

I love seeing mothers cook. And hearing the story about how she made the balls small so you could continue your art without stopping fills my heart. In so many cultures food is the pathway to show love and affection. And that anecdote just exemplifies it.

I'm in Washington State too (KZbin says you're in Washington)! My mother died when I was 13, but she tried to teach me what Korean recipes she could when she was alive. This is one of the recipes that I still hold dear to my heart. We sometimes mince red bell peppers and scallions in ours. So simple and such a favorite! I've been doing this for my own kids for about 15 years.

i just made rice triangle balls today for my daughter's traveling from Southern CA to Washington with her husband, brother & sister in law, niece and nephew to visit their parents. I used bbq tri tip roast, carrots, baby kale, yellow dikon radish, rice & seaweed . They said it was delicious and easy to eat because they were driving. I love the rice triangles.

Your mom is literally just like my mom, I am currently attending Harvard university and studying to become a cardiothorastic surgeon. and I am currently home due to COVID, and when I study I don’t stop until I feel satisfied. so my mom would literally make me little snacks and bring them to me. Your mom is so sweet 😃

My son loves rice balls! I’m African American and love Korean foods. I make them often. I don’t want my son to be limited in just one type of food so I introduced him to Korean food which he loves Rice balls being his favorite especially when it’s stuffed with seaweed on it.

Just made rice balls for the first time (using this video as reference). I tried black garlic/peanut butter as filling and then fried them on the sides. It was pretty damn good (judging from a very small test one; letting the rest cool). Could probably add some meat as well but... Very happy with the result.👍
