For someone who is currently learning Mandarin, would it be easier or more difficult to learn Korean at the same time? I'm a native English speaker from the U.S. who also dabbles in French, Spanish, and ASL. 😅
@btsmultistanАй бұрын
@@tinyguitarthewanderingbard ooh I'm learning Mandarin Chinese too!! I'm bilingual (spanish & english) and I also learned a bit of french too!! Ok I got a little excited but my professor said if you learn Mandarin, it will be easier to learn Korean and Japanese. But I'd say it could could be helpful to learn them at the same time if you can handle it since they use similar characters sometimes
@tinyguitarthewanderingbardАй бұрын
@btsmultistan ok, we should become friends so we can practice together!! 😅 I don't have anyone around me to do that with anymore. I want to try them all at the same time now but I'm also sure that's how I'll overwhelm myself. I frequently get overzealous. 😂
@btsmultistanАй бұрын
@@tinyguitarthewanderingbard I'd love that! I don't usually meet people to practice with so it's kinda hard to know if I'm sounding right lol. I tried learning French and Portuguese at the same time and almost cried haha. Same with Thai and Korean. So now I guess I'll stick to one language at a time. But I'd definitely be willing to help you anytime!

Same here. German teacher. Also, that moment when there's a blatant, recurring mistake but they're in the groove right now and you're so proud of them, so you're debating whether to break their flow to make sure they don't internalize the errors or whether overcorrecting them will make them feel insecure and more hesitant to speak at all.

As a language student, that will definitely make us feel insecure if you point it out straight away lol, because at that moment we're really making an effort. Probably point it out later during the class or at the end, one on one. We're more calm and will be more open to the correction.

I ended up only doing gestures, sign language, and saying 네 네 네. I don't know, maybe they were feeling awkward, or they didn't have any patience to wait. ㅠㅠ

Try preply. I have a teacher named Yeseul 예슬 and she is amaaaaazing. She waits so patiently until I am like ..."help," and then she tells me the word.
