Hi rebellious cooks, in this video I show you how I prepare a kougelhopf, its original Alsatian name, or kouglof, kougelhof, kugelhof, kugelopf, kougelhopf, kugelhopf or kouglouf (in Alsatian (Haut-Rhin) Kugelhupf, in German Gugelhupf, in French Lorraine Fùrmekùiche, in Czech Bábovka). This is a raised bun, whose appearance is characteristic because of its mold, which gives it a high shape, fluted and carved in the middle, an Alsatian specialty, Austria, the Republic Czech Republic and southern Germany. I present here the sweet version, with raisins that you can soak with rum or kirsch, and almonds. This specialty has been for a long time a cake of celebration, prepared for many occasions: Christmas, wedding, birth, village festival, etc. It is rather tasted, nowadays, at the breakfast in sweet version, and at the aperitif in its salty version. Bon appetite 😃
