Obviously Kraig is lying when he says he hiked 100 miles by himself in Alaska. Who's taking these aerial shots of him in the beginning, eh? Didn't think of that, did you? Obviously Kraig has his pet bird accompanying him to take all these different camera angles. Fact-check: FALSE. Myth busted.

Guys (and Kraig) when crossing a river like at 16:49 please remember the two main rules: 1: don't cross perpendicular to the flow direction, face upstream and either walk sideways facing the flow or walk at a somewhat diagonal line 2: ALWAYS open the buckles on your hip and chest belt, NEVER cross with the buckles closed. If you fall the bag will drag you down or get tangled in the rocks, you will not be able to get out of it quickly. If you fall with your bag closed you are at a high risk of drowning. Also, have a lighter in a zip-lock bag on your person so if you lose your pack you can still light a fire.
@soccerplayer2277
@soccerplayer2277 4 жыл бұрын
not arguing, just a question, i understand the diagonal line but don't understand the walk sideways facing the flow. What is the logic, wouldn't this make you more prone to losing your balance and falling backwards?
@bongieger7871
@bongieger7871 4 жыл бұрын
@@soccerplayer2277 i assume that you can hold your balance easier cause you can lean against the flow. I personally use the diagonal line but many agencies recommend the sideways method.
@soccerplayer2277
@soccerplayer2277 4 жыл бұрын
@@bongieger7871 I see, thanks that makes sense. I guess you would want to lean forward a lot. I'd be very afraid to fall backwards so I think I'll stick to the diagonal.

Hey Kraig! After being inspired by your trekking videos, I flew over to Iceland to do a solo 3day trek at the age of 17. I had no idea how to set up a tent, but I managed to pull it off. I was born and raised in a bustling city, so I thought being in the wild was not going to suit me. I was wrong. I absolutely get why you are doing this. I found pure happiness by venturing the unknown. I am working my butt off to pay for my trip to Everest Base Camp after high school graduation. Thanks for the inspiration. I finally found meaning in my life. The novelty of discovering.

@Alexander NANCARROW Hey Alex from Australia! Being out with family is definitely wonderful, but there's this magic of being alone in the middle of nowhere that just can't be explained in words:) My dream is to travel the world visiting awesome mountains (I have also done Camino Frances 800Km in solo. Well, this is more like a flat trail). Keep me updated on your journey Alexander. Who knows, we might end up on the same mountain. Cheers!

@@galopolo1114 Hey Galo! You are making the best choice by choosing Iceland. I did the Laugavegur hike 55Km. Depending on how long you are planning you can add one or two days to Laugavegur hike by continuing to Fimmvorduhals trail. I really wish I could have done both. The experience is life-changing I must say. It's tough, no doubt, but you are always surrounded by these mesmerizing views that will just push you to take another step. The rest is for you to figure it out! I don't want to spoil the surprise. You are not allowed to wild camp in Iceland. However, every 15km or so, you will find a campsite. (If you want my itinerary, I am glad to send it to you. Let me know.)

its so nice to see theres a youtuber who doesn't talk all the way through the trail, but rather let the scenery speak for itself, as well as the music that is ever so subtle there, its so gorgeous. had tears trailing down my face.
