Unfortunately Rami confirmed in an interview that many of the characters were nerfed for the sake of the movie. I assume this includes Reed so my cope is simply that they messed him up due to the limitations of the movie having to start and conclude so many plots simply because marvel has made no effort for continuity in the dr strange movies

Seeing Black Bolt and Mr Fantastic made me jump out of my seat, but the way they went out was so stupid. Wanda should have killed Captain Marvel first, Mr Fantastic teleports Wanda with Black Bolt and he screams as loud as he can. Wanda blocks it and the whole planet they're in gets destroyed. Black Bolt thinks he killed Wanda until his mouth gets shut and his head explodes. Wanda teleports back to everyone and Captain Carter gives everyone some time to distract Wanda. Reed and Professor X tells Dr Strange to find them in his universe after Wanda is defeated(to set up Secret Wars). Reed and Xavier teleports back to confront Wanda and they go out in better way this time. Reed wraps around her while Xavier taps into her mind. Wanda breaks through it and overpowers them and kills Xavier. After that in a last ditch effort, Mr Fantastic pulls out the Ultimate Nullifier to try to blink her from existence. Wanda grabs Reed's hand as he's pulling out the Nullifier and turns his hands into glass and shatters it. Reed falls down to his knees in defeat and tells her, "It's not me you should be worried about, it's my son you need to be worried about." Then Wanda kills Reed with a flick of her wrist. That's how it should have went down in my opinion. Because then it sets up Fantastic 4 and X-Men in the MCU.

@@boricuaburst986 It actually would have worked because you could have Dr Strange show up in the post credit scenes of the X-Men and Fantastic 4 films with Dr Strange recruiting Mr Fantastic and Professor X to the new Illuminati that Dr Strange is now the leader of. And the new Illuminati would have Dr Strange as the leader, Mr Fantastic, Professor X, Black Bolt, Namor, whoever is the new Black Panther, and Nick Fury. That's a pretty dope lineup and it's cool because they're a team that would be very hush hush and would work in secret. Plus it would be cool to see Dr Strange showing up in the post credit scenes and recruiting the members the same way Tony Stark did for the Avengers. And it would all lead up to a three part Avengers Secret Wars movie (like Infinity War and Endgame but this time it's 3 films instead of two). Kang would be the villain in the first movie but in the end when he is defeated that is when there's a big twist in the end that Kang had been working for the Beyonders (the Ivory Kings) the whole time, and the Beyonders would be the main villains for Secret Wars part 2 and hopefully Dr Doom would be the main villain in part 3, and part 3 would be released on the anniversary day of the MCU (20 years of the MCU.) And Secret Wars part 3 would be the Avengers Endgame of Phases 4, 5 and 6.

@@callmestorm23 but that’s just not what they were going for, that whole piece of having Reed in was kinda just confirming that they casted John Krasinski. The other cameos were literally just showing off cool what ifs (Cap. Marvel and Cap. Carter) and bringing back beloved or underutilized characters (Xavier and Black Bolt). The big goal at the end of the day was to slightly tease what’s to come for the MCU in general and then to big time show the story of Strange/Wanda along with what’s to come for the future of Dr. Strange.

Reed would never have given up Black Bolt’s power (a TACTICAL ADVANTAGE) or jumped at Wanda head on like that. I also don’t understand Captain Carter and Captain Marvel just watching Wanda kill their friends…? They just sit by until “okay, now it’s my scene”

I was more offended by what they did to Charles. 1. He didn't put up a fight in the slightest bit. He should've mind f***ed & guilt-tripped Wanda for a few minutes before that red cloud rolled in. 2. I've not watched the movie, but I have two problems with this scene: 1) Blackbolt has far too much control to "impulsively scream" when Wanda takes away his mouth. He literally spent his entire life mastering his self-control so that, no matter what, he never impulsively releases his voice. I've heard people try to justify this by saying "but he never had his mouth taken away before" but that's just a lazy excuse. His training in self-control was specifically for this kind of scenario and he constantly learned to control himself so that he never released a scream in horror, fear, anger, sadness, or injury. It's just not realistic to say that he dies by screaming without a mouth. Moreover., while I don't know how they used the tuning fork on his forehead here, in the comics, this device helps him direct his vocal powers in nonvocal ways so him not having a mouth wouldn't be a detriment. 2) WHY DOES EVERYONE JUST STAND THERE AS THEY WATCH THEIR FRIENDS DIE!? Seriously, they just stand and watch without even trying to attack Wanda. It's always bad and stupid when things like this happen because, realistically, you'd rush in to save them! They're supposed to be heroes for crying out loud!

@@Dylasophical Honestly, I decided I wasn’t going to watch this movie when they made it rated R cause I just don’t do R-rated films and I’m not a big horror fan, but I did jack as much information as I could about the plot from reviews, synopsis, and friends and family who did see the movie and I am honestly mostly disappointed with how poor the writing of the entire movie is. I mean, they just completely forget about the cliffhanger from the first Doctor Strange about Baron Mordo. In my opinion, the story should’ve been more along the lines of something similar to this: Because of the incident in Westview during WandaVision, Mordo has placed the scarlet witch at the top of his list of sorcerers that have to be D powered in the name of preserving order. However, he concludes that he is far too weak to take on wander and he also realizes that he needs to take care of Doctor Strange. I such, he uses his magic to travel across the multi-verse to create the illuminati as a team specifically meant to hunt down spell casters and destroy them in the name of preserving order. This, I feel, would be a great continuation of the cliffhanger in the post credit scene of the first Doctor Strange film and it would fit with the illuminati from the comics as being heroes that were well-intentioned but miss guided by their self righteousness. They then target Scarlet Witch which gets Doctor Strange involved and then you have an entire film with a Doctor Strange and scarlet witch team up against a group of morally dubious antagonist. You can still keep the whole thing about the darkhold corrupting wanders mind, but you maintain character consistency with her already having dealt with her loss in WandaVision. Perhaps you could even go further into the use of magic in this film to wear, by the end, Wanda discovers that she could potentially restore the real vision back to his normal self and, by exploring the multi-verse, she could actually learn that her boys could be made real instead of just products of her imagination. This was set up a very unique conflict, maintain scarlet witch as a heroine, and give a bit of hope to the narrative for life moving on which could also fit in well with the storyline of Doctor Strange moving on from his old girlfriend and having the end with his comic book wife.

The direction that he focuses his voice towards, straight in front of him, will be white faces the effects of his voice because that’s the direction that the sound waves are traveling. But Wanda straight up toyed with Richards for a good like 15 seconds. Just like, uncomfortably long. Which btw I think is another subtle fuck men moment from Hollywood the way they did it. But you're telling me they just stood there and watched? Both had access to projectiles/lasers they could've tossed out to interrupt that spell, and fuck, maybe that would've saved his life. I think the entire scene was all about showing that female characters are stronger than male characters. Men die fast, women die brave. In your rant though, amazingly you forgot the fact that Reed just told Wanda that Black Bolt can use his voice to subdue her, which made me sick to my stomach. @Mystical Archives no he had 6 powers that equal up to Wanda's when you combine them. However, they take a huge toll on the user. Wanda can even make it where the Infinity stones NEVER existed. She is as powerful as all of them togeather. Since her subconscious would be against her dying she is arguably more powerful than anyone with the 6 stones because they can't hurt her with a suprise attack if her subconscious won't allow it. While the stones take conscious effort to weld, her powers can be enacted by her subconscious.

The reason why the battle was choreographed the way it is is easy. Both, Black Bolt and Reed Richards are male. So they have to look like idiots. Captain and Captain are female, so they have to look super strong, powerful and competent. That's how the MCU works nowadays.

we have to remember, this movie was solely made to show Wanda go off & kill a bunch of people effortlessly (they had to choose powerful characters to demonstrate this), to introduce Chavez, & to progress Strange. This movie wasn’t made to show how Reed Richards is supposed to be, or Black Bolt, or any of the illuminati for that matter, earth 838 is a throwaway universe. We will see the true forms of the characters in earth 616. Remember Reed can still be the smartest man in the 838 universe, but earth 616 Reed is probably much smarter, and we’ll see that in fantastic 4. The whole point of alternate realities is alternate versions of characters, so don’t get too upset if you don’t like a variant of your favorite characters, they are just a variant.

I think Wanda taking out Black Bolt first made perfect sense because he was likely the most dangerous to her, so taking him out before he could do anything made sense. It was a dumb move by Reed to try attacking the Harbinger of Chaos with a stretchy arm, but her taking him out makes sense because he’s likely the least powerful of the bunch(contest between him and Captain Carter). Though I think it was obvious they didn’t want Wanda to end the fight too soon so she just stops altering reality and uses TK against Carter and Maria. And if she’s in such a hurry to get Chavez she should’ve taken out Captain Carter more quickly.

He was only the "least powerful" because of the bad script. If they presented him properly, as in the way he was in the comics, he's not just powerful but dangerous. He could wipe out the universe if he spent a few months planning. In the comics he's simply on a different tier than Wanda. This is a fight that should not have been allowed. And forget it if his son Franklin Richards enters the equation. He's more than Galactus when it comes to power scaling.

Reed being stupid was kinda the way the writers were going with his character. Even dr strange remarked sarcastically "no shit genius!" When reed said that they had been breached. The whole point was to kinda have an irony to reed richards in the illuminati because they wanted to show us a version of reed richards who is a genius in this universe and probably a moron in any other universe. Honestly if i had my team mate killed the way black bolt had been by wanda which was very disturbing my knee jerk reaction would also be to reach out to this crazy person and try to stop her immediately because he is kind of a father figure here and he still thinks trying to talk wanda out of her path of destruction. Still i feel this reed richard was far better than any other iterations we have seen in the mcu who were pretty much one dimensional. This reed after seeing doctor strange again seemed to have looked like reuniting with an old comrade after smiling at him looking bemused at an old friend. Also him being a family man was a good thought. They didnt show any new powers because they are saving for future mcu movies because the tone and theme of this movie was magic and magical duels. Mcu knows what they are doing and i think the writers deliberately didnt show us some new and exciting powers because it would undermine the above said tone and theme. I trust the writers on this one.

I'm not sure. But none of them should get a pass. Reed literally has a council of Reeds from other universes, showing that he is a genius in every version of the multiverse. There's no excuse for this scene. And I didn't really feel the arrogance from Krasinski's performance. Maybe a little, but not enough to justify the scene.

Man I thought I was the only person that did not want John Krasinski cast as Reed Richards. Krasinski remains the ABSOLUTE SAME in most of his acting roles and it's very apparent in this film. Horrible choice since the start of fan theories for this film. Marvel introduces Kang (a descendant of Reed Richards, one of the most brilliant and talented minds in the entire universe) as someone who can control and manipulate the entirety of time in all of the multiverse. He alone had controlled everything and everything down to everyone's eventual fate. To have an opportunity at giving Marvel fans not only The Illuminati but a beloved character like Reed Richards should seem like a chance to greatly improve the MCU's pace and tone though by the end of the film a lot of fans were proven wrong to have that expectation for a "Multiverse" movie. For being a Reed Richard that is part of The Illuminati, having helped defeat Thanos saving the universe, having progressed in maturity even having started his family, the film's interpretation and scenes of Richards were completely disgraced. Seconds on screen, second member of an incredibly powerful group to be killed, casting that does not properly portray the character, and given one of the most boring and confusing scripts in recent MCU history. Krasinski is a good actor and as far as I know a good man but the guy is not Reed Richards. MCU fans please reconsider. None of it felt like it was for superhero fans that actually like/love these superheroes.

Its like… the pieces were all there. They went out of their way to show and tell how badass these characters were, like Black Bolt, Captain Marvel, Captain Carter, Mr Fantastic and of course, Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier. To think that all they needed, was just one fight scene where we could see them team up and showcase their powers, but we don’t even get that. I think most of these videos are ignoring the fact that their Wanda is probably age of ultron level, just someone who can use telekinesis. When Wanda came into this universe the 838 Wanda didn’t warp reality. I think this 838 Wanda didn’t know how to warp reality. This would explain why they were confident that black bolt could kill her, they didn’t know that she could do anything other than basic physical attacks. I do agree about the face grab tho…after he realized she could warp reality idk why the smartest man ever would reach for her face. Also agree with captain carter fight. It doesn’t make sense that Wanda would actually have a hard time fighting a captain America variant or a captain marvel variant

He was talking about how Reed (the SMARTEST person alive) sees Wanda legit altering reality to get rid of blackbolts mouth (pretty much their strongest member) and he decides to just try to grab her (literally the dumbest option).
