Kreg 720 / 720 Pro Pocket Hole Jig - How To Use

Thanks for this video and your other ones on the jig! I just got the 720 Pro, however the drill bit doesn’t fit all the way through the hole. Is this normal and I need to drill out the holes on the first time? Though that seems a weird. I can’t find any information about this in the instructions or online.

No problem 👍Hey, first thanks for watching. As far as your question, I did not experience that nor do I think you should. I don't know anyone that has. The drill bit should drop right down first time you use it. It could be that there is just something at the end of the hole that didn't get cleaned out, or it could be that the metal collars were inserted crooked and that is why the bit is hitting something. I would probably suggest to exchange it for another.

I reached out to Kreg Customer Service via live chat on their website and they told me the following: Kreg: We do over mold those guide just a little bit. So once you drill through them the first time, they will become the exact size of the bits. Me: Oh okay, so this is normal and expected that the bit won't be able to slide through, right out of the box? Kreg: Yes. That is to be expected. Honestly, it still seems a bit odd, and that I didn't see any info about this in the manual or online. But I went ahead and tried it out last night and the jig works fine! But there was a bit of black plastic shavings left after the first drill through of each hole. Hopefully this is able to help someone else out in the future.
