Nobody can sing this song with as much conviction as the legendary Kris Kristofferson. RIP Kris 😢

There's a video of Kris singing this song live in which he tells the back story of him writing this one. Kris was a Rhodes Scholar and a Lit major. He wrote well. Kris experienced all the temptations of a super star life. RIP Kris Kristofferson.

He reluctantly went to church with another country artist and was convicted and saved that night. He was living the star lifestyle prior to that. That's what the song is about.

As popular as Elvis was, he wasn't afraid to sing "Gospel" music. In this case, Kris was a country artist who wrote this song. Many singers who are influenced by "Religious" music often return to those roots.

Here's another song by KK, if interested. But this time he's singing a duet with the lovely Rita Coolidge. Rita's another vocal queen. So, get ready to be blown away with some powerful sultriness. lol "Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge - Help Me Make It Through The Night" (by the channel: rocky storm) -- This particular video doesn't have a lot of views, but this song was one of his biggest hit singles. It is a country ballad written and composed by Kristofferson.

RIP I remember him always being around in entertainment. He died last month. First thing I knew him as an actor. He has been in quite a few movies, such as, the Blade movies. He wrote songs and I know you are familiar with the one Janis Joplin "Me and Bobby McGee".
