The idea of charity shop’s is that they are cheaper than the high street stores. I volunteer in one and worked in a few. Yes we need to make money for the charity but if we’re going to charge similar prices to the high street stores people will just go to the expensive stores in the end.

The mug with the brushes was a men's shaving mug. The mugs had a cake of shaving cream in the bottom. He would use a wet brush and swirl it around on the cake to get it creamy/foamy then brush it on his face before he shaved. Being Burt's Bees, I'm not exactly sure if that's what it was, but that's what it looks like.

I'm so glad you bought the green wall shelf. It is beautifully made and can be so versatile in your new place. My grandparents in Ohio didn't have an indoor bathroom in their farmhouse until 1967. It was installed off the kitchen in what was a pantry. So I've always understood why bathrooms are either in what used to be a bedroom or crammed in an odd small spot. Can't wait to see your new old house.

Hi Kristen… nice finds !!! Love the boots and they look great with your top ! Oh the rug, the shelf, the sled….. exciting !!! Since you talked about INDOOR BATHROOMS …. My husband is 72 years old and they didn’t have an inside bathroom until he was 8 or 9 ! I can’t imagine having to go outside in winter or the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT to the bathroom! Unheated in snow country ! But they didn’t know any different 🤷♀️ They were a farming family and money was short. I grew up in town with indoor bathrooms. But you are totally correct about “sticking “ a bathroom ( TOILET) in a closet, etc! SO THANKFUL FOR TECHNOLOGY RIGHT ? LOL!!! Can’t wait to see this new house ! So excited for your family ! I used to fold my kids’ clothes but I stopped doing it because they would just mess it up anyway. It’s not important when you think about it. I do like to hang up their nice clothes right out of the dryer (but that doesn’t always happen!) Letting go of certain things is very liberating. It takes away some stress of feeling like it all has to be perfect.

Franco Sarto boots usually go for at least $100, so that was a good price. I get your point though. Thrift stores really have jacked up their prices.I love the green shelf and glad that you got the toboggan.$5 was a steal! I always think the deals I get balance out the things that I paid more for.The Burt's mug looks like a shaving mug. The brushes look like nail brushes.Maybe someone just threw those brushes with the mug to donate even though they weren't a set. The old school vibe of it would have looked cute in your bathroom though. So excited to see your new house decorated!

Absolutely love all of your finds! I don't think of thrifting as being a bad thing. I mean, if a person is spending too much money and bringing way too much junk and clutter into the house, that's a problem. Otherwise, for me, going to a thrift store, but especially an antique store, is a very pleasurable experience. I find it so calming. Anyway, the platters with lines near the edge are restaurant ware and that mug with a brush was a men's shaving cup. Yes, that was yellow ware. I loved the painting that you nixed, for the exact reason that you didn't buy it....red is my favorite color (mostly, burgundy). Lavish master suites weren't really a thing until the 1980's. However, I have been in plenty of houses here in Jacksonville, Florida, built in the 1960's, that had tiny master baths with just a sink, toilet, and shower stall. Love that shelf just like it is! And what fantastic finds were the rug and sled! Thanks for sharing! Blessings! ❤

Love your finds. That sled will fit right in at your new home. Love the green shelf. I’ve been thrifting for about 20 years and love it. Don’t discount antique stores though especially for certain items. Thrift stores have gone up in price that I’ve often found something instead at antique mall. We live in KC and the Brass Armadillo Mall off I70 has great prices. Maybe when the vendor purchases from an estates sale they can offer a better price or watch for sales. But even one of our thrift stores had a crock for $120 that sat there for over a year and I’ve found them at antique stores for $60. You’ll find a crock for a great price I’m sure as you patiently look. 😊 Oh consider calling that antique store and ask them to check with the seller about their best price on those blue chairs you’d want or make them an offer. Never hurts to ask 😉❤️

Your thrift store has the blue and white bowls I want...😭😉 Aw that old rocking horse & Jesus pic brings back memories! Gosh, they had lots of stuff! I wonder how far past the Ks border that place is. 😁 I love going to Branson for the shopping!🥰 Glad you found your boots!!🙌 Blessings!💖

Well that would make sense why the bathrooms in my house are weird.. my house was built in 1901! They definitely feel like an afterthought.. the only full bath is definitely an addition on the back if the house and I doubt it was done until early 2000s, it doesn't feel like it's to code at all. I still love all these bizarre challenges and charm. Thank you for your videos! You are definitely inspiring me :)

I saw a cute saying at Valentines Day..."I'd give up chocolate, but I'm not a quitter!" I think the same philosophy applies to thrifting!😍
