@@5-Volt It is until you run into bosses that gapclose with every attack, at which point you're playing a melee with bad armour and stamina. That said, it's a reasonable price to pay for hard-cheesing everything up to said boss.

More like an oversimplification, mages have a big advantage in that they can do both close and long range combat effectively which allows them to avoid more attacks. This is helpful for people who aren’t good at timing their parry’s and dodges, plus they’re easier to set up However Dex and Strength can be just as good if you actually set up your weapons to scale correctly. I’ve seen a lot of people go for dex or strength and hardly touch ashes of war, skills, and abilities. If you don’t set that shit up correctly you’re just limiting you’re damage and making things harder

And it's refreshing seeing each one trying different approaches. If it's a mechanic then is valid.

Kronii playtrough is the perfect example of why Elden Ring isn't a hard game. It's as hard as you are willing to make it. You could either go the hard way, or you could just take advantage of the many, MANY help the game is giving you.

Kronii struggling to even comprehend casting with her staff mirrors my first attempt in Demon souls where I spent my first 4 hours using exclusively the wand R2 or mail breaker to deal with enemies. Needless to say I did not keep playing. Come a few months later, I find out the game has bosses and I beat it like a week later. Yeah DeS was a weird starting point, very little info to glean, even after reading the manual lol

@@the_seeker.entity9206 the brass shield is a good early game, but if you farm the Leyndell Knight south of the Artisans Shack in Liurnia East there's a chance to drop the Golden Greatshield which has exactly 70 Guard Boost which when combined with the Ash of War Barricade Shield gives you 5s of Stamina-free blocking for any blockable attack. Barricade Shield has been nerfed some but it's still useful to get to 100 Guard Boost.

Heck, everything is busted on NG+ espcially when you already know the boss moveset + way overlevelled with maxed out gear + high quality armor + insane talismans. I'm on NG+ using a faith build and it's busted, but that's also bc I know how this game works now. My point is that the gsme gets exponentially easier when the boss doesn't attack you, and you get free hits. You can one shot with magic, you can stagger lock with melee build, and other stuff you can steamroll with when you don't get aggro-ed.

Throughout the boss fights, I'm looking at Kronii wondering why she's healing as they're about to get hit instead of dodging to actually heal, but just her doing this explains that she's not used to it so I'll cut some slack, cutting slack doesn't decrease frustration but it's fine. What I am oddly fine with though is her cheesing all of the bosses, although it's not my usual gamer cup of tea, I still managed to enjoy it.

FYI for the people that think magic is busted: not all bosses can be magic cheesed. Many can, sure, but not all. Final boss in particular, I actually ended up fighting pure melee because it was literally easier than trying to cast. Mage characters just have different struggles than melee ones. (And for anyone wondering; I usually play melee, ER was my first mage playthrough and even then I started melee and switched to mage halfway through. I have the experience on both sides to back up my statement)
