One of the great aspects of his writing is it has to do witn an upbringing of welding power/being feared/ accountability/ nurturing. Fermenting a concern for those not as invincible as oneself. As it stands Supes is basically treating humanity like children. Fair enough, in a way to him we're basically infants made of whipped cream, but it doesn't do much for our resilience to have all of our greatest threats handled by external factors with minimal intervention on our part. His responses to that notion are objectively insane, to be absolutely clear the guy's a maniac, but even a maniac can raise a good point.

Back in Superman: The Animated Series (S:TAS), Braniac kidnapped Lex inside his own company's building, forcing him to build Braniac a new body. During the fight with Braniac, he blasted Lex. Whether the writers planned it, or not, later in Justice League Unlimited, it is revealed that the blast from Braniac carried a microscopic copy of himself. Slowly, and steadily, Braniac has been growing inside Lex, who is unaware. Braniac is also somewhat influencing Lex to protect himself. Eventually, Braniac cures Lex of the cancer, and Lex also mysteriously gains super strength, as if he were a strong young man. Braniac intended to upload himself into an Amazo android body, which Lex thought he was going to upload his own brain into. It (the idea to upload his consciousness in an Amazo android body) was partially the influence of Braniac.
