Hey bud, when you’re gonna take down your Px4 Storm, you don’t have to pull back gently on the slide, all you have to do is pull down on the 2 levers & the slide will pop & slide up forward a little instead of racking the slide back a little like on the Glocks that you have to rack back to do but you don’t have to on the Px4 Storm since I have one on the full-size in Inoynox color.

I agree. I prefer more flat shooting guns like the CZ P-07 for a compact hammer fired gun, an the PX4 Storm Compact does all of that in a better package. The trigger is worlds better, the slide is bigger making it easier to grab when you rack it, and there's more aftermarket support available while remaining one of the most flat shooting handgun I've ever shot. I don't know if it's worth the $200-300 more though. If you're okay with a slightly more gritty trigger and don't plan on customizing your gun, I would still take the CZ P-07 because it's a better deal. I've seen more PX4 Storms in general in recent years so hopefully the price will decrease even more. When the PX4 Storm Compact came out, most places were selling them for around $800. I see them more around the $500-600 price point these days.

You don't have to pull the slide back at all to remove the slide. Just remove the magazine, pull down on the tabs, and pull the slide off. Probably the easiest takedown of any firearm on the market.

I have the full size Px4 first pistol I ever owned. It’s a great gun I have 2,800 rounds. Softest shooting 9mm I have. It still looks brand new. Great finish. Doesn’t move a bit in my hands.

Great review as always. I've had mine for about three years, several thousand rounds fired and no issues. I converted it from a type F to type G, installed a low profile decocker and a set of Talon grips. Beretta makes a superior firearm in my opinion. If one is considering one, one won't be disappointed. S/F.

The Px4 Compact Inox is my daily carry. Love. This. Gun. Every time I think I’m going to try a different gun out I end up coming to the conclusion that there’s not a better carry gun out there for me! I stippled the grip. I swapped to a lighter main spring. I made it decocker only and put on stealth levers. I put on some Trijicon HD’s. Now it’s perfect!

I cc a full size PX4 9mm with a remora iwb holster and I love it. Never regret buying this pistol. It is super accurate and a pleasure to shoot, and I love that it’s different than the more popular striker fired weapons.

I purchased the PX4 Storm Compact and love it. I did change out the trigger for the Langdon Tactical Trigger in a bag - a pretty easy job for anyone with a little mechanical ability. The trigger pull DA is around 7.5 lbs and SA is around 3 lbs. This gun is probably the flattest shooting gun I have. Can't sing it's praises enough. Very good trigger out of the box but the Langdon Trigger will really spoil you. As for your comments about the grips - I agree - Talon grips work wonderfully for me on this gun. I have heard the DA/SA controversy - I shoot the gun better DA than SA. However the more I shoot the gun DA the better I shoot it SA - don't fear the Double Action.

Good review on what is a somewhat under rated pistol. In fact they can often be found on the used market at attractive prices like the LE turn in I got for $325 on Gunbroker. One point I'd like to make is that, unlike the 92 series guns, the PX4s can all be converted to decockers (the G model) without any additional kits. There is slimmer profile lever set available from Beretta for those who find the standard levers too large and awkward. Also available from Beretta is a "competition" fire control group that provides a noticeably lighter single action pull and a smoother DA pull. The 92 series hammer springs will interchange with the PX4s and can be had in various lighter weights that will cure the heavy DA pull (these springs provide a heavier pull on a PX4 then the same weight spring would provide on a 92) These are available from Langdon tactical or Wilson and well worth the money. Langdon Tactical will also sell you a "trigger job in a bag" which provides all the parts you need (or he can do a trigger job for you ) . Again well worth the money. I find the added safety of the DA/SA trigger can provide piece of mind in everyday carry (especially for appendix carry). Keep up the good work.

I've had my full size PX4 Beretta 9mm for several years. I've always been a DA/SA Hammer man and I scored 98.6% on the NRA 60 round Police Qualifier course the day after I bought it !!! No modifications... 1 outta every 6 shots was DA ! Then 5 SA .. (10 DA-50 SA) .. Love the Compact too! These will eat virtually ANY ammo without a malfunction, & both are a pleasure to shoot! Dependability is PARAMOUNT with any semi-auto, & I trust my life with the Comact, & of course the full size PX4 Storm! I personally have no issues with the "wings" (safety/decocker), but I can understand how some might .. All in all 2 of the best semi-autos I own! I have others I love too (Walther P38, Colt 1911, Beretta 92, & Tomcat 32, Ruger LCP Max, etc.), and dislike others (Walther PPK/S 380, S&W Shield, AMT 380 Backup, etc.), as far as performance .. Great review! The PX4's are my favorites (not counting the Custom 1911), & is often overlooked & underrated! Most importantly, they never let you down !!!

@BarrelTitor91 I carry a Sig 365XL with red dot mostly now, and occasionally a Glock 19 if clothing permits simply because the width of the Px4 creates more printing as I have aged and gained weight. I still haven't found a pistol I shoot better than the Px4, but I maintain my skills enough to be effective and rapid with the other pistols I carry at typical engagement distances. I strongly suggest you figure out what works for you, no one is the same. Best of luck with your decision and safety.

I have the Langdon Compact Carry. Really like it for appendix carry over my G19. Still shoot the G19 better, but I’ve eliminated the anxiety of carrying with one in the chamber by going back to a DA/SA hammer fired pistol.

I've been shooting it for nearly 3 years now and it's still one of my favourite guns. It's a bulldog of a pistol. Thousands and thousands of rounds never and I mean NEVER a single malfunction. The recoil spring is by now so worn out that I expect a malfunction any minute now...still waiting. Perfect concealed carry pistol. You basically have an almost sub compact pistol with the grip and capacity of a compact. Mind you, I can comfortably appendix carry a M9A3. Despite the size it really is a soft shooter (the rotating barrel does its work). Very accurate even at 25 yds. I just upgraded it with tritium sights. And since I can't find Talon grips for it I just slip a strip of bike tyre round the grip, it works wonders.

I've been carrying the PX4 Storm sub compact in .40 for years as my daily carry. I love the gun, though my only complaint is that my particular gun's spring is extremely stiff. It takes a lot of might to rack the slide. And if I'm sweaty like you mention, it's a bit difficult. As a result of this, I became comfortable with always carrying one round in the chamber.

Love my LTT unit in 40. As in many videos, fails to feed too much for carrying. 40 years of experience and multiple armorers schools and can’t find why? Gun one hole accurate all the time and I want to love it. Multiple videos and comments on same issue. Trusted my 92 for 17 years as issued firearm until department changed my next 11 years. Always loved the PC4 and 40 caliber is so easy in this pistol. I will figure it out. Great video.

This is my latest 9mm handgun since. It feels very good and comfortable in my small hand. It is very well balanced. I think it is a very good home defense compact gun and it will be my back up gun for my AK 74 VERP during SHTF. Can't go wrong with this Beretta PX4 Storm and this is why they call this gun a "STORM". I also bought a non slip cushion for the grip.

With zero parts breaking and no parts needing replacement's. Full Size in .40 cal. with 2X/17rd mags and 2x/14rd mags. Is plenty. PEACE

I really like my compact, it does shoot very softly even with +P, and since I like da/sa this trigger is much better than an M9. Also the Compact Carry version solves some of the issues you raised. A bonus is all the aftermarket support that Beretta offers

Have the PX4 full size in .45acp and just LOVE this gun! The recoil is far more of a "shove" back and "thump into your palm" than a kick and raise (to me anyway). The heavy mainspring gets it back on target very quickly. I get great groups and it feeds Winchester white box 230 ball just fine. Only malfunctions I've had were ammo related, not gun related (extremely cheap stuff). I am strongly considering getting their compact 9mm as well.

I have the Langdon carry edition and i love the chunky little baster@#$ The trigger group (designed by Langston) is truley a pleasure. I like the Ameriglow sights an the fact it comes with three mags and Talon grips. the slide release and safty/decocker have been melted for carry and the cerracoated slide is a nice touch. My Olight Minni fits it perfectly. Super vid brother it just goes to prove if you free your mind you might find some great firearms etc... that you would never have given a chance!!! I sure did.

I love mine. 3 back strap sizes interchangeable. I had to suck a$$ with the California 10 round clip. I have had a 15 round clip loaded and I found it to through off the balance. There are hundreds of options for the front rail. You'll have no problem finding an option you like for the utility rail. The gun so great they named a tv show after it.

I was really high on this gun a few years ago when I 1st saw it. Being kind of poor (LOL!!) I have to be very careful how I spend my money. I don’t mean to imply that all of you can buy anything at anytime. We all have our own challenges. But I have to be very careful how I spend my xtra cash. We are a 1 income home and that makes it especially hard sometimes. Ok, no more crying, LOL. I’ll have to see if they have this in my LGS’s rental case and try it out. My newest obsession is the M&P Shield in 45 APC in the performance version. That’s a sweet little carry gun!

The first carry gun i bought was a px4 compact. The second, a shield 9mm. The px4 is still my favorite shooting gun. Bar none. But i carry my sheild daily. I hardly ever carry my px4... just saying. I will also say the finish on the shield holds up better. Ok, it's far superior. But doesn't feel as natural. The sheild has to much grip angle for how God made my hands. But it carries easier. Either way you can't go wrong. But if its a carry gun and you feel safe with half the ammo the px4 holds, go with the shield. You'll love it. You want 16 rounds at your side.... Go with the px4. I don't care for a 45acp personally. Not in a single stack. Not enough rounds. But that's a personal decision.

Been carrying one since February 2018. Coverted too “typeG” with just removing a couple springs. A must is talon grips,granite ones. With trijicon green HD’s. I got the wrong size. But my local gunsmith here in Vegas made them work. Carry with a 20round mag. In a muddy river tactical holster. Love the channel!

I have the PX4 Storm full size 9mm and put a Talon Pro grip on it. Now It fits like a glove. If I had to go with just one gun, although I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that, I'd give up my G19 before I'd give up the Beretta.

The platform is great. Swapping out the hammer spring cost $8 and takes less than 3 minutes and vastly improves the trigger. The Langdon Compact Carry is amazing too. I wish they'd make a single stack version, in that size range nothing exists in DA/SA.

This is my EDC. I love mine. Get the "D" spring and convert to the "G" (decocker only) configuration and you're good. I added talon grips because the stock grip is slick.

Have one, and love it ( for the range). Got a holster for it, and tried to conceal carry it, but a little chunky. Still love shooting it, and one of my favorites. Love my Beretta guns; hell love all of them.

As far as the serrations are concerned, it's the Bruniton finish. I have the stainless version, and they are grippier than Glock or S&W M&P in my opinion. In fact, sometimes I don't know how it is not cutting me.

This PX4 is a little brother of Beretta Cougar, and some of the parts are made of polymer that why it is much lighter than the Cougar. I especially like the way it takes down just lower the pin in front of the trigger guard and push forward unlike those need to slide back, till up a little bit then push forward, the rotary barrel reduces recoil which I like much .... excellent Italian design ! For myself, I prefer the full size instead of the compact, just less than one inch longer but well balance.

Great review and I love it! I have a full size PX4 Type G LE demo w/ Trijicon night sights in 40 S&W. I recently installed the stealth decockers. I pack the 140 gr Barnes TAC-XPD ammo and a Wintrhrop pancake style leather OWB holster. I use lightweight bullets to save weight and enhance control for EDC. The PX4 is a bit too thick in width for me for IWB concealed carry, so I use it OWB in fall and winter months. My primary EDC is a Walther PPS in 40 S&W. Anyway, overall I love the Storm! With soft recoil I can shoot all day with no fatigue.

I had the full size and loved it! One of my favs. I did trade it in and put it towards a czP01. It hurt me a bit because I loved the px4 BUT it’s easier to get your hands on a px4 storm than it is a czP01. Great review!

I bought the full length PX4 when it first came out and then the compact when it came out. Since then I have bought, traded and sold bunches of other semi-autos, but I kept the PX4s. They really are that good.

Have you shot the Beretta APX and its variants? It's hard to compare the PX4 Storm line to the APX because they're vastly different, but is it worth the extra money with Beretta's special pricing with the APX line?

@@JacksonWalter735 I have handled them and they feel and look nice. If I was a striker guy, they's be on my list. But I am an old fart who likes a heavy first trigger pull and a decocker. All the new striker fired guns are being built with almost competition style triggers: i.e., too light. If you shoot too quick in competition, you hit a wrong piece of cardboard or steel. In real life a "too quick" pull on a trigger may kill somebody who didn't need it. For people who say that's a training issue, I say train with a heavier trigger. Just an idea, maybe if in competition if we disqualified anybody who hits a wrong piece of steel or cardboard for the rest of the season, then people might use stiffer triggers.

Fair and honest review. I have the full size F that I converted (very simple conversion by the way and I am not a gunsmith) to the G or decocker only. I am not a believer in concealed carrying with a safety on. It can and does cause confusion and delay when such may be the difference between success or failure. I also changed the trigger bar to the Langdon Ttake-upchosen

KSGunGuy The Px4 can use two different styles of magazines with an optional and easy to install accessory. PX-4/CX-4 style or Beretta 92 style. I have the full size, your pistol will accept larger capacity magazines also. As to the serrations on the slide I always have my decocker in the up or double action mode and the decockers ears are awesome to use to rack the slide, I'm not an over hand slide racker, but both styles can be used with those ears! Here comes the kicker! I have the CX-4 Storm carbine and they share my style of magazines which is the PX-4/CX-4 magazine's. Great combo!

I have never heard of the PX4 being magazine changeable. I know the CX4, pistol caliber carbine, can be changed from PX4 to 92 magazines or vice-versa. I have 2 PX4s and the CX4 set up for the same magazines. Can you provide some sort of documentation that would show how the PX4 can use 92 style magazines?...without some sort of jury-rigging to achieve that?

if possible, get your hands on a compact carry model. it is one of the best un-talked about handgun out there. if your looking for da/sa then the beretta compact carry fits the bill. very good double action and single action pull and very comfortable with great sights. and the rotating barrel does make a difference when you _really_ need an edc gun for stressful encounters... which normally happens and you have to shoot one handed, it is not like shooting at the range.
