I have a question. This is not an advertis but there is a German KZbinr named Mr.Flagg and he build a really interesting "Rover", and hear comes my question. Would you like this? When yes, would you build this a lot more craiser and funnier, because you and him as the same amount of crazy funny style :)

If I saw that thing on a planet I was exploring I'd immediately write it off as an unusual geological formation... because NO ONE in the universe would be caught dead flying around in a giant shower head.

Who would be one to assume? In all of the infinite possibilities, there is logically at least one possibility wherein a type of spacecraft resembles a giant shower head. I defy you to disagree.

As my first Mun's surface exploration mission (whoose I called to offically, to say), I fell in love about EVAs. It was super; making Munwalking, exploring the surface (on later missions I used rovers for that, and that was so cool), and, of course, looking up for Kerbin, or Kerbol. After missions, I always needed to take Kerbals back to Kerbin, so I decided to bulid surface base, to not have to worry about going back, in the best case, mining base, and I made it just yesterday! My first surface base, from which I'm very proud! Screenshots with it look super, and I feel like in the near future! That's for me surface bases. In my opinion, you couldn't choose better than buliding surface base. And one other proposicion; It looks like half skeleton of ball; typicall for big, vacuum , futuristical, scientic surface bases. This is, what it would be fine with it; 1. Grove it to whole of the canon, making halls looking like tubes. That's beatiful for future's lovers. 2. Add an other half and leave it in orbit. You will get super cool looking space station.

You’ll learn eventually. I remember, when I couldn’t even crash land on the Mun because I never hit it. Now I nuke-engine my way across the system. And yes, I often visit Dres. Dresteroids = Tons of Ore = Lots of Nukafuel for a small energy investment (and a bit of intercept planning). Dres exists for a reason. It is our gas station, and the outer planets lie beyond it. Gas stations may be boring and uninteresting, but we all use them IRL. Now show Dres some respect, and refuel your fuel tanks.

@aWildLupi
@aWildLupi 6 жыл бұрын
The problem largely comes from heaviest part autostrut and root part autostrut, where the autostruts are from something to somethign else far away. Floating point errors add up and the thing starts torquing itself. i.imgur.com/qDVJNNN.png For example, the landing gear on the lander at the very end of that nuclear ship were strutting originally to the large payload bay on the shuttle i'd docked originally on the side docking adapter (Landing gear are locked to heaviest part autostrut). To prevent the station from shaking itself to pieces while i did final outfitting of the nuclear ships, I had to move the fairing-nose shuttle to the side adapter, and the shuttle-cockpit shuttle up to the top adapter. That way, the floating point inaccuracies from a long distance autostrut were less so, and imparted less torque.

That is a beautiful base. I love the arches with all the little windows like pearls. :) Bizarrely, it seems I haven't liked my favourite Matt Lowne videos, including this one. I suppose I watched them several times before I decided I want to be signed in to KZbin, and never watched them since. Except I'm sure I have watched them since. Perhaps I was too engrossed in the video to click Like. You know, despite having watched this several times before, I still feel like this is the first time I've ever heard the Dres Canyon called Memory Lane! XD I'm being silly. It probably just didn't tickle me that way before. Geological features can bring back good memories to those who have visited them, so I'm not sure what I'm laughing about really.

Delta V is not the only thing that is important. On a normal rocket, you burn ~500 m/s just by ascending to 2 km. However, you don't need to worry about that at all when you can't lift the rocket at all. They are probably there just to provide extra TWR. tl;dr They're there for TWR

Hey, @Matt Lowne, can you please give me the geographical coordinates for the canyon (or at least your landing spot)? I plan to put a small single-launch base there for my second Dres fleet. You picked a good spot to land, by the way. Relatively flat terrain, and it should have enough space to put a landing pod/rover in there (assuming I punched in the coordinates in MechJeb correctly). I've already got the vehicles and base taken care of, but I just need the "where." Also, what is the ore concentration in that area?
@red_five3325
@red_five3325 5 жыл бұрын
If, for any reason, you recommend I do NOT go inside the canyons (e.g. no chance of exit, ore concentration below 3%, far too hazardous for rovers/landers/crewmembers, frequent Kraken hangout), at least give me the coordinates so I can put a "DO NOT VENTURE HERE" waypoint - like I did the Mohole.

Idk. Just kinda didn't like giving the impression I was "flaunting my wealth" or anything (which is something a lot of people took away from that video) and didn't want to seem like I was bragging about having a powerful computer. Plus a lot of the comments devolved into AMD vs Intel and AMD/Ati vs Nvidia flame wars and in the end I made the decision to cut it off at the source. Now that my PC is somewhat outdated I might remake it but I probably won't.

Oh well. I'm not going to challenge your decision but I would've wanted to see it! Especially if you talk about your PC upgrade from the old Dres Canyon 720p Rover to this PC which is far better.
