KSP2: SSTO to Mun/Minmus

Me rambling for 20mins well past me does the Mun/Minmus single launch challange.
The craft it self is a fairly ''minimalist'' H-ssto, comming in at only ~42t's.
I feel like, considering how most H-ssto designs turn out, i managed to minimize the giga-chungus factor on this one.

Just Downloaded and flew this today. Really fun and beautiful craft! but yea, was definitely missing some rcs/control. Had a hard time keeping it retrograde during the landings. but it gets into orbit real smoothly!

im just happy they fixed the flight path when you encounter another body. i could barely play the game like that. now i can have a little fun. gotta try to get to jool and go to the center before they add heating!

Yup, 0.1 has been very positive overall, trajectory lines being mostly fixed + much better fps being the highlights :p I still wouldnt trust trajectories completely tho. It seems like when leaving various moon sphere of influence, trajectories arent 100% correct. Tho when leaving planet spheres it seems to be fine...?

The bug I keep encountering is I get my craft into LKO, then I separate my second stage and do an insertion burn to Mun orbit, but then why I start to timewarp out to mun, the stage I separated from somehow gets dragged from it's orbit and flung into a solar orbit, I cannot fathom how or why it's happening that way.

I wish i could, but the cargobay drag bug is making cargo ssto's basically useless atm. Once its fixed, i got some pretty cool ideas involving cargo ssto's.

I basically run screenshots through an ai filter. Tho i couldnt tell you which specific filter i used for any of my thumbnails as its basically a length process of experimenting with a lot of them.

So many bugs 😟 the game is complete dog shit ... have you checked out any of the mods? I have not bought the game yet (don't want to give them my money) but I've seen a couple other content creators show casing mods that have already been developed to fix KSP'2, might be worth a look 😉

id say the game has a lot of potential but it is currently in a pretty rough state. If youre new id probably recommend starting with ksp1 instead atm. And yah, i do run mods.

@@Kerman_von_Braun yeah I've played KSP1 for years now and it's quite sad to say, but like KSP'1, modders will eventually make KSP'2 much, much better and what's sad is that unpaid modders can not only bring so much more to a game, but also fix it! all whilst paid developers can't even get it right and yeah, I know it's in "Early Access" and all but that's not near enough of an excuse for me, they've literally had years upon years to get it right and yet look, they've missed fundamental mechanics/elements that even stock KSP'1 had implemented, like, how on earth can someone stuff up so badly? and the rub salt in the wound, they're selling the game for top dollar! ... sigh

@@rustyneedles3743 The prevailing theory is that t2 forced intercepts hand in to publishing ksp2 in such an early and very much unfinished state. Tho the 0.1 patch is promising, and personally, i do have faith in the devs to eventually patch the game up and deliver on what was promised. In the mean time, using mods to bring back esencial functionality or even fix some of the minor bugs is highly recommended. That said, even tho ksp2 is very heavy on jank, i am enjoying it a lot and i basically stopped playing ksp1 after learning how to work around ksp2 issues for the most part.

@@Kerman_von_Braun hmmmmm, well, that's a perspective I hadn't taken into account, I guess I'm a little too hard on the devs most of the time, especially when I'm aware that there is power structure of sorts above them, comprised of people wearing suits, people that couldn't develop a game if they tried, maybe I need to redirect my displeasure, come to think of it, the "suits" are the ones behind pretty much every decision that's negatively effected the gaming industry and subsequently made me such a bitter fuck when it comes to certain aspects, damn, you may have said the words I needed to hear that'll see me finally buy the game, lol, though seriously, thanks for sharing your opinion 😊

This is in early acess of course it is dog shit they haven't even added science yet you get early access as and equivalent of a preorder a playable one it gonna get so much better but more expensive so I recommend buying it but you don't have to play
