Okay, I will guarantee that what he said was the 'Admirals State Room' @ 6:03 was NOT the admiral's State Room. The Adrimal's State Room on an Essex class carrier is above the Quarter Deck and he is obviously in the Island Structure, it may have been an area where the Admiral had a communication hut (which was contiguous with the radio and radar rooms of the carrier), but NOT a State Room - Though unlikely, the Admiral would either be on the Bridge - 3 or 4 levels above where they seem to be, or on the Battle Bridge ahead of the Fo'c'sle. A State Room on an Essex Carrier is their main sleeping quarters. Battle Quarter sleeping station quarters were merely a cot in a battle station, not a State Room.

I'm the guy who fabricated all those white vertical tubular posts with the angled tops that surround the displays, mostly on flight deck

I went in the captains bridge and they let me steer the wheel
@NoahFroio4 жыл бұрын
OMG, NO... The Bridge does not actually steer the ship.... WTF?? 14:02 The Bridge sends control signals to the four (4); read that four, control and propellor drive rooms on the 7th & 8th decks, which actually control the ship.. The wheel and speed control wheel send signals to the Engine Rooms on what to do, how much fire to put into the engine (think a humongous carburetor) and any trim control needed. This is NOT Gilligans Island, the 'captain's wheel' is absolutely not 100% driving the ship. It is telling a coordinated crew of sailors where the ship needs to point and what degree they need to point and a dedicated crew of highly skilled sailors and engineers are making it happen.

Unless Intrepid (CV-11) was built and configured differently than Hornet (CV-12) - though both were build simultaneously - at Newport News Shipyards, this is not how the Island is laid out. What did the Intrepid do?????
