They seem fine to me also. He seems to sell them by word of mouth. He sent me a link to a way to wire the springs (I tried zip ties but it didn’t work) to hold them while installing (it’s in the comments and video description). I found it was okay without so long as forewarned! Cheers 👍

Hi Codger, sorry to hear the bad news about your family member and no riding. That spring is a bastard. I had a neighbour help me when I changed to the Rade Garage pegs. 1 person push the spring in place. The other can focus on the pin. Quick and easy. Tmrw the wether will be nice for an afternoon ride. Sunny and 13 C. No lockdown. Only social distancing and work from home.

👍 Hi Chris’. Great to hear from you, glad things are ok up and across there. Yes it would have been much easier with 2 people, but we are not allowed to be near another person. However, once I got the knack it was so much easier. I actually cut my hand by hitting the ground avoiding the spring! Ha ha! Unfortunately not on camera. As you say, the secret is in the pin. By the way I like the mods you have made to your ,and I don't think its changed anything about the bike being an enduro. The pegs are narrow especially if have big dogs like mine size 14

How do the Rade Garage Tower Lights work at night? Do see any need to add auxiliary lights?

Very good mainbeam at night. Ok on dip in daytime. Aux lights would maybe help with visibility in daytime traffic. I haven't bothered... so far 👍

What size boots do you have? I have UK 10.5. I'm about to order the pegs, but I have doubts. I'm 1.83 and I'm sure I'm going to ask, like you, -20 LOW but I'm doubting whether to also ask for -20 rear or not. I would like to have a little more reach when I'm standing up because I have a long torso and short legs and the extra space might make me feel less cramped...but I'm afraid that later I won't be able to shift gears well or to the brake pedal. Any advice?

I have -20. I wear size 10 uk size. I have had no issues with these pegs, or they would have been removed. I'd email and ask him for advice as he had made them for many people. One thing I have to have is the brake pedal foot level with the pegs as I use a lot of rear braking in my riding. The lower foot has worked really well for me as it puts everything in line. Gears are no issue. I'd already lifted that to get my boots in. I hope that helps. These things are personal, but important 👍

How Is the lower brake tip? Does It work with lower pegs or need a lower lever? I'm worried about the lever itself being in the way of the foot, since this way the tip is lower but the lever is not

Calling this bike an enduro has always been a joke. Enduro races involve race bikes like KTM 450/500’s, Yamaha WR250/450’s and other similar lightweight missiles. Nobody in their right mind races a 690 against bikes weighing 40 kg less with better suspension. You were spot on, it should be called the 690 Adventure

I think it almost is in a class of its own. Apart from the 701 (same, more or less) I can’t think of anything similar. Which is why I (and many others) chose it, I suspect. 👍

@@CodgerBiker I agree 100%, it is the only decent lightweight adventure bike around and yet it is based on a design from more than 10 years ago. Honda had a go with the CRF450L but stuffed it up. I wouldn’t dream of riding the 45 kg heavier 790 but the 690 is not an enduro race bike. My guess is that in a few years, KTM will cease production and people will be stuck with the porky road based twins or that silly 390 road bike

I like the 450L but the service intervals make it impractical I agree. I know what you mean, but I'm not so pessimistic, I think 150kg or below will become a new category for Adv in time 👍

rider skill dictates what the bikes capable of, not the bike. i regularly race my 990 against 450s in wood races with no issue. the 690 is even easier to ride anywhere, it all comes down to seat time and practice.
