Wir sind dieses jahr auf unserer Italientour auch wieder über den Großglockner. Nur leider war es dann oben sehr neblig und hat noch angefangen leicht zu regnen, deswegen musste die Edelweißspitze ausfallen. Aber nichtsdestotrotz ein geiler Pass. Fahre ne 2016 vfr800x. And as always have fun and ride safe

One of the few people that understands how to present a bike! in 99% of the reviews we dont even hear the sound of the bike. The sound of a bike helps our imagination to have an idea how a bike will feel.. rather than annoying ADHD music or a stream of unstoppable words. Thx for this! I sold my Tiger 800xcx and bought this machine, R version :)

Wow! Unbelievable... When I first saw the KTM 790 Adventure at the Eicma last year, I thought it looks ugly. But now I see it in your video, ridden by you on the Grossglockner road, I realize it actually looks perfect 😉 KTM should pay to you the wages they pay to their designers! 😇

I'm seriously considering one of these to replace my S1000XR when the time comes. I'd be able to ride closer to the bike's limits than I can now, and the 790 looks like a lot of fun.

hi, what do you prefer, ktm 79 0 adventure or multistrada 950s? i got the 790 adventure for 10000km and now i get a multistrada 950s. i think that ktm win for the torque at low rpm, but multistrada 950 win for all the rest, is most complete.

I did not watch all of it but this is the first vid i have seen where you are using taller gears eg 5 & 6 a lot. Usually you using 2 & 3. Seems this engine has good torque, hence taller gears used?

the engine has good torque but what kind of gears I'm using is a matter of which road I'm riding. Großglockner road has many straight bits. Plus you're on high altitude which means you lose quite a bit of power which then means you can be much harder on the throttle

you should get paid by KTM for producing this video, i bet you have sold a lot of 790s just because its pretty much just this video that shows the capabilities on road with this bike. Love it and yes, now im gonna buy it!

ich kenne die R nicht, ist aber für mich definitiv die falsche Wahl. Die R ist für den extremen Geländeeinsatz gebaut

Hi. Ich hab ein paar Fragen an dich. 1. Warum hast du nicht die R genommen, sondern nur die normale? 2. Ist das ein Akra, den du fährst? 3. Bist du die Tenere gefahren und wenn ja, wie findest du die Maschine im Vergleich? 4. Im KTM Forum liest man teilweise von alptraumhaften Problemen mit der Maschine. Öllachen, problematische Bremsen, und bei 95% betroffen: Ein undichtes Display. Gerade bei langen Fahrten ein Unding. Man kommt ja immer in einen Schauer. Würdest du sie wieder holen?

Ich bin die 790 ADV im Rahmen eines Presse-Events für 3 Tage gefahren, das ist nicht meine. Im Vergleich zur Tenere ist die KTM wesentlich schneller zu bewegen. Aber ja, dafür sind KTMs leider enorm unzuverlässig. Ich selber würde mir wohl die Tenere nehmen.

Hey Schaaf, ich wollte dich mal fragen in welchen Gängen du dich in den Kehren mit diesem bike bewegt hast, hab mir jetzt nämlich auch eine geholt, und bin gerade dabei mich mit ihr ein wenig "anzufreunden" 😅?! Bin davor ne alte BMW R 1100 gs gefahren, die war da nämlich ein wenig soufärener. Natürlich fahr ich in Zeiten von Corona auch nicht mehr. Aber ein paar Tipps von dir wären echt schee. Nice video. I really like this KTM and I'd like to buy it. He almost convinced me in everything but the size of the tires (typical enduro tires) in the case of a sporty riding scares me a little. What do you think about it and what impressions did it give you in riding it?

I hope someday i'll change my bmw g 310 gs for this bike or for 890. Everything is cool in the goose, but on the highway there is not enough speed for long trips. P.s. Popcorn sound is top)

II rode this bike too for a day. It will probably be my next bike. I loved the exceptional quick shifter. But my only concern is still the comfort. After one day riding, my but was really aching. The saddle as well as the suspension is very hard. For sure in comparison to my BMW RT. But you really think it is comfortable enough ?

for me it is. I had no issues after 3 consecutive riding days. But of course it is less comfortable when compared to any BMW

Spent 4 full days on one. I'll be changing the seat but otherwise I found it satisfactory. Using a Puig touring windscreen.

@@Schaaf above 170 it was too much turbulence and shacking. honestly I surprised even before the ride- it looks so cheap and thin. BTW I rode the Grossklogner a month ago with rented Honda ncx750. I climbed from the sunny south (lientz) but the top and downhill (107) was all fogy so couldn't see much. great ride.

Nothing to complain about regarding the suspensions? I'd have thought they are a bit soft for hard riding? I know you mention them, but no pogoing?

What are your thoughts on GoPro in general? Thanks for the videos, they’re the best motorcycle ones out there on KZbin :) What a beautiful road. I wouldn’t drive fast at all on this road, especially with a ravine off that cliff... 😫

Hi Schaaf! Amazing video as always! Did you feel some vibrations while riding? As you stated in the video you van ride the bike in low rpm without that it becomes jerky ? I was planning to buy the ducati multistrada 950s, but the vibrations and the engine behavior under 3000rpm puts me off! How does it compare to the ducati?

it does a lot better than the Ducati in that aspect. But if you want smooth you'll need to take the Tiger 800

Schaaf thanks! Yeah the triple engine is really smooth but not so exiting, i like low rpm torque. How would you compare the F850gs to the ktm adventure 790? Would You buy the ktm over the F850gs?

@@michaelhadim23 I despise the 850 GS. It's basically perfect but it lacks soul. And its engine is incredibly boring. The 850GS is the last one I'd choose out of ALL travel enduros. God I really hate that bike :D

Hi Aleksandar. I rode all of these bikes and it really depends wether you are about to ride it offroad often. If so, I would avoid KTM Adv 790 (non R). Suspension is non-adjustable, very hard and road oriented. R version is a different song really. I like it, but it is also like 4 000 EUR more expensive than Tenere 700 which I am now testing in a long term.

@@motopiknik I bought this one as a private person. Other bikes I can compare with are mostly rented from either motorcycle rentals or importers (journalist fleet). So on Tenere I plan to do 10 000 km this year and more next year.
