If you guys go to East Malaysia (Borneo) you get Sabah, mainly Dusun, Kadazan, Murut, Brunei, Bajau etc2 race and Sarawak mainly Dayak, Melanau, Melayu, Penan, Kedayan etc2.. it’s totally a different side of Malaysia.. There is a big expats community in Kota Kinabalu..

When in KL, I would recommend that you take a food tour of Kampung Baru which is the last Malay village in KL. Try the nasi lemak at Wanjo and other food especially Malay pastries (kuih). Another place would be Little India (Brickfields) where you can get authentic Indian breakfast like dosai, roti canai etc. The Botanical Gardens and the KLCC Park would be worth a visit.

Its okay to eat with your hands as long as its clean, its not that savage LOL. A lot people here are not super judgemental, everyone has their preferred/used to ways of doing things so feel free to do your own thing as long as it doesn't really bother other people negatively. Personally I'm not that used to eating with hands with most food but our frieds of malay, indians and other ethnic groups are very used to eating with hands actually. I do like to eat things like fried chicken and stuffs with hands though, it feels tastier sometimes eating that way :D

We don't call Malaysia.. We call the original land "TANAH MELAYU" Which means Malay Land.😊
@Arrazi136 ай бұрын
"Malay Land" is a term coined by the British. The original inhabitants never called it that way.
@fauzanriez94726 ай бұрын
Originally every state is actually a nation of its own. This is reason why there are so many sultans as rulers. Under colonialism of british, all the states were combined together as Federation States of Malaya in 1948. 1957, gained independence. 1963 formed Malaysia with Sabah and Sarawak. 1965. Singapore left.

Why Malaysia food is so unique? It is to do with the colonization history, this land had been colonized for almost 400 years by 4 countries, and has trade with China, India, Arab, Thailand, Indonesia for almost 600 years Hence you can find different type of flavors and cultures, in short Malaysia is a summary of Asia, for those who like to understand Asia, 1st stop shd be Malaysia
