Chief Wang, you are one of the most humble, honest, most honourable gentlemen I have come across. I have followed most if not all of your videos. I cannot say I have learnt a lot due to the difference between business and homemade approach (the fundamental difference is the lack of a proper fire in the home environment plus the availability of ingredients). But there is one thing that I have learnt, be humble, be honest, be sincere and last but not least, be generous. You have shared your knowledge with NO reservation. I salute you, sir. In the video, you came across as so honest and humble, I sincerely wish you all the success in your business and your channel in the coming Chinese New Year. And, of course, thank you for your good work.

What is Chef Wang planning to do in the New Year? I don't speak Mandarin.

@@corinaleong1689 Hi, in the video, he explained what he had done with his brand of food products in 2021. He also earnestly explained why he didn't push for franchising though it is one obvious way to make big money. But as he explained, it also involved a lot of risks which, if not handled properly, he and his team could lose everything! His brand of foods gained a lot of popularity through the support of his fans, which he and his team thought would subside after a few months. But alas, it didn't. They went into the problem of supply not matching demand. There were long queues. People, mostly fans, from all over the country, came to his shop but most of them were disappointed. Chief Wang explained although he and his team did install extra "kitchens" to cope with the demand. But it only worked for a short while until his infamous "sugar skin duck" came out. In his previous video showing how to cook this "sugar skin duck", he explained that he and his team had decided NOT to go down the industrial route to make these ducks in order to maintain the quality and taste. Hence, it was a lot of hard work as one person can only make about 10 a day due to the process. Again, people from all over the country came to purchase these ducks but most were disappointed due to the limited stock. You may ask why no online sales. Chief Wang has also explained that the packaging process and the storage time seriously affected the taste during their test. So, he and his team of chiefs unanimously agreed not to provide online sales. Although more chiefs and staff had been recruited, it had not much effect on the problem. He also explained why they didn't push for franchising instead his team went for the strategy of providing courses on how to cook his brand of foods. From his years of experience, he had seen a lot of failure in franchising, especially restaurant business. He explained that not everyone is destined or equipped to run a restaurant. The failure rate was fairly high. So, instead of losing hundreds of thousands (cost of franchising), interested parties would only lose a few thousand (cost of tuition course)! Some students had managed to succeed in opening their own restaurant in their local area. Some couldn't handle the pressure of all the procedures. So, he concluded that he and his team had done the right thing. But to the supply problem, Chief Wang also concluded that their setup (number of supply locations) were not efficient enough to handle the problem. So he and his team managed to find a factory sized location in a rural area (by going in partnership with local government resulting in lower cost). So, when it is up and running, they can handle much much larger demand and handle it systematically. Also, with this in place, it is only then, Chief Wang and his team will consider franchising. This is very much about his plan for 2022. :)

@alex lowe Hi. Thank you so much for the translation. It's much appreciated.
You are a great businessman Chef Wang. I am very eagerly awaiting your international expansion. Southern California would be a fantastic place to put your first USA location.
