Good video quality & content. Also good explanation of pressure increase adding 5 tenths of shims to increase pressure by 225 psi. Also the added safety reminders are very appropriate! Keep the content comming.

Tempting, very tempting, but on a tractor this small I resisted because my property is on a slope and i dont want to shorten the life of the pump. Still, a useful video and thanks for sharing the info. I just replaced the four steel banjo lines from the valve body out to the hose outlets. All blowing oil at the O rings. So I reckon I am already operating the tractor right at its limits. Mine is the same model/year as yours. BX 2370. I have shifted many tons of dirt with my loader. Probably at least 400 tons. The problem over time is that the back pressure on those lines especially the main pressure line to lift the loader frame, was just to much for the Banjo Seals. Not even viton O rings fixed the problem. Also blew the braze on one banjo twice. Not worth trying to fix, even with silver solder. So far so good on the rubber replacement hoses. Watch out for your banjos because you may not notice the leak until its to late. When they go they go bad. Its a stupid design in my opinion, the banjo’s just are not heavy duty enough. Cheers.

Hi jeff, ty for posting this, I bought the Bxpanded hydraulic pressure tester they sell, I like yours better, my kit came with 3 shims, a 1 a 2 and a 3, I think I will use your part #'s and get thoe shims since they are made by kubota. Again ty for posting

Thanks Mike My local dealer had them in stock and about $00.65 per shim. I did run mine up to 2000 psi and the other day I had some freight show up on the tailgate of a truck. The freight was 470 lbs. I had my bucket forks on and lifted it without any problem. I was very careful lowering the load before I moved and keep it as level as possible, it work great.

I have to get to my local dealr and buy these, I wonder exactly how many of the spacers I can actually put in there?
@goneredcar19 жыл бұрын
After you take your first hyd reading you can determine your shim amount by .1 MM per 45 psi you wish to raise your relief valve pressure. The factory sets the PSI around 1700 to 1750 So do the math.

What is the maximum you would go to?
@goneredcar19 жыл бұрын
I can only speak for what I did and that was 2000 and the machine seams fine with that. The reason I did it was I use mine for moving pallets and close to the ground only. I just needed a little more lifting power and they now lift without fail. I would also recommend always use the appropriate ballast whenever you use the loader, be safe.

First of all THANK YOU for this video!!! I just have a couple of questions: 1. Where did you get the hose and gauge set up? 2. What is the size of the coupler needed? 3. Do you believe that this would work on the bx2380? Again thank you for your wisdom and efforts and have a merry christmas!
@goneredcar16 жыл бұрын
Got the gauge off ebay for $9.00 hose from Farm And Fleet $8.00 ,and just matched up the coupler there $6.00. I'm unable to answer your question if the 80 and 70 are the same. I can say previous models were the same, check with the dealer.

No not necessary to bleed air from the hose. I did however bring up the pressure slowly at first so the gauge didn't get banged.

Did you pre-fill your hose before you put he gauge or the coupling on it? Any air in there could throw off by hundreds of pounds PSI. My BX has almost 400 hours on it and still puts out over 2000PSI on a bled gauge and 1790PSI on a 20 inch hose with air in it. The high/low bypass relief pressure should really be done on the three ports(one for low) on the bottom of the trans... around 3000 psi.

Great instructional video! I've been looking for a way to increase the lifting capability of my front end loader. I've researched adding larger hydraulic cylinders and while this is more than doable, the shim change is a lot quicker, easier, and much less costly. I see the stock setup is configured with one solid flat shim and one flat washer. Knowing that by adding a shim simply changes the preload on the valve spring slightly therefore increasing the fluid output pressure, I'm wondering if adding a 0.5mm flat stainless washer on top of this stack would result in the same performance change? Comments are greatly appreciated!

Well done video, thanks for sharing. How does upping the pressure 225psi trabslate to real work lift numbers? Also, why doesnt this affect the 3PH?

Great video! I have a 2019 BX23S. What pressure does it come to the factory with (not mine necessarily, but yours)? What is the highest pressure it can be shimmed too? I am not clear on where you attached the hose. Did you take a line off and install it? If so what did you do with the line you took off, plug it? Can you just leave the gauge on permanently to monitor pressure? Is 200 lbs of additional lift really noticeable?
@goneredcar14 жыл бұрын
The pressure is listed in the tractor manual for your specific model.Joe Butner The pressure was low on mine and the shim addition made a substantial difference.

I Grew up on farm equipment. All pressures and RPM of all tractors are set there for a reason. You could run it full throttle at full spec pressure and never should anything be damaged from it. I would climb in my 4455JD and (10 yo boy) Fill with fuel check fluids and run that full throttle for 14 hours plowing and only stop to pee. It would be looking for more fuel by then and me some sleep. I have always been told be all diesel mechanics, WORK THAT DIESEL, it was made for it.

opening up the hydraulic pressure will this make the Kubota go faster for speed
@thomascrawford99096 жыл бұрын
not faster, just more hydraulic pressure. Lifting and the hydrostatic tranny would be stronger in each gear. But not faster.
@holliemeckler44137 жыл бұрын
does it matter which order i install the shims?? pleas add that to the video. thanks!
@thomascrawford99096 жыл бұрын
order does not matter. Each shim is a different thickness and pressure increase. Do not add to many and cause to much pressure increase. You have to check thickness and each one is different(at least my kit I bought is assorted thickness,colour). Check pressure gauge, figure out how many PSI increase you need and add shims accordingly.

I know this post is a bit old but just a quick question on your gauge setup. did you have to fill the hose with udt or did you just attach everything dry? I wonder because i'm worried about the air in the hose compressing and giving a bad reading. Thanks for the video.
@thomascrawford99096 жыл бұрын
I actually have same gauge but without hose. Fit directly to loader valve. I think it would still just read the line pressure, air would not matter. If you think it matters bleed it by , very carefully loosening hose at pressure valve at tractor IDLE and tighten when you see oil leak out. It will always stay filled with oil. 2000-2500 PSI so be careful. I would loosen it a bit THEN start tractor, move the valve and let it fill and shut off tractor to tighten. Just to be safe. If you don't have any know how in this, DO NOT TOUCH. Let the dealer do it for you.

Thanks for sharing this video. I just gotten my BX25D about a week ago. I wish it had little more power to it. Will it help the backhoe too? If not, how can ya up the backhoe too?
@goneredcar18 жыл бұрын
+Cary Hubbard It affects all pressures that are associated with the hydraulic pump. It has been reported that some original pressures were around 1600 psi. Make sure you confirm your pressure with a reliable gage before attempting this procedure. Remember you are only bring the pressure to the specs your not exceeding them. You may also review this in the shop manual stay safe.

I'm not really concerned about lifting more weight with this Mod. but I can't stand how SLOW my bx25 backhoe moves. Will this Mod, speed up the movement or is this simply a lifting power Mod? Thanks.
@YooooouKnowwwww7 жыл бұрын
I dont have a bx model but I'd guess that this would not help. This helps with the pressure, which would affect how much it can lift, and not the flow, which would affect how fast it would move. Let us know if you did the mod and it helped though!
