This was by far the best review on these paints that I have seen.

It's such an easy habit to fall into, right?

Given how shiny or glossy the pans look I’d think there must be a considerable amount of gum/resin/glue in these and therefore probably more than usual glycerine to stop the paint cracking. The lack of information on the pigments used as well as the binder is troubling since they may change pigments without buyers knowing so even if you weed out the fairly sizeable number of non light fast paints when it comes time to replace paint the lightfast rating may have changed. Oh and watercolours advertised as using honey are using it as a replacement for glycerine (or in a mixture with less glycerine) so it’s a plasticiser, humectant. Both glycerine and honey are hygroscopic but don’t act as very good binders/glues. They won’t hold your pigment to the paper very well at all. I have read the kuretake use some synthetic resin as a binder but most watercolours use gum Arabic. Maybe kuretake use something like aquazol.
