Yeah our group talked about this on discord. The joke about brant having the trans pride flag colour scheme just got a whole lot more real with tencent coming in with a majority vote

at this point tencent wons half of the world like disney, they let their children have creative freedom as long as they make profit.
@JenuaXD6 күн бұрын
Haha, yeah, Tencent is everywhere these days! It’s like you said "Disney of gaming" letting companies do their thing as long as the money keeps rolling in. Smart move on their part, honestly.

If you look at Tencent's track record they rarely invest in failures and even less get involved in the development process for the companies they invest in , for Kuro they see potential growth and success, Look at Warframe from Digital Extremes, Path of Exile from GGG etc..
@Merrillon216 күн бұрын
Don't actually play WuWa but having played both Warframe and Path of Exile, I agree. As long as Tencent does not get actively involved with development then WuWa players should not be worried. DE and GGG have stuck to their dev principles and are receptive to player feedback that's why their games are successful. If Kuro manages to be the same then you should be good.

Correct me if I'm wrong, a share/stock holder will have an influence to the company's operation if the stock acquired is more than 80 or 90% of the total. Otherwise, investors only want ROI or Dividends.
@JenuaXD6 күн бұрын
You are correct. If someone owns 80% or more of a company’s shares, they would have significant influence over the company's operations and decision-making. However, a majority shareholder can choose not to interfere in day-to-day operations if they believe the existing management is capable of generating good profits. In such cases, the shareholder would benefit from receiving a larger portion of the company's profits (e.g., dividends) proportional to their ownership. It’s worth noting, though, that even majority shareholders may be subject to legal or contractual limitations stipulated by the company’s structure and governance rules.

@@JenuaXD I see. As long as Kuro don't fuck up and keep daddy Tencent happy by keeping the cash flows to their pocket, everything alright. 😁

me dont care as most game i am playing are own by Tencent anyway. Tencent own alot of game company, anime studio and many other entertainment industries in the globe. Kuro now dont have to worry about money or manpower cause Tencent got all of that cover. the thing might worry people are the micro transaction, such in game cosmetic or gacha. as Tencent aint forgiving in that area.
@JenuaXD8 күн бұрын
Agree, but I think even if they were to add micro transaction in terms of skins and stuff as long as it doesn't interfere with the base game experience I wouldn't have any problems with it.
@ShiroKage-h8v8 күн бұрын
@@JenuaXDit's common for skins to be "pay to get" in gacha games
@ShiroKage-h8v8 күн бұрын
Well Epic games is also a big part of Tencent, so no, we are not cooked more like saved. They will still let Kuro be an independent studio only that they will have a large share of the company

Are you even read it properly? It Hero Games the one decided to sold their share in Kuro to Tencent. For what reason? Probably It between Hero Games and Tencent only. Hero Games needed quick cash? or maybe Tencent offer them a good deal so they sold their share to them? Who knows
