@@PearsAreOkay both. Any sub you are slipping your head out of and grinding your ears has a chance. I would just turn the corner with that knee and drop it on their belly and keep angling around until my head slipped out much easier because of the pressure I am putting on the knee not to mention my knee on their belly or sternum... driving down 100% since they are my pivot point.

At 1:12 and 2:55.......those are weak triangles. The guy on the bottom needs to get the inside of his thigh against Kurt's ear. If that happens this escape will fail. For those that doubt it, Saulo Ribiero explains why standing without posture is bad in his book JJ University. This will work if the thigh is not against the ear, but if it is you will need a couple hail mary's and hulk like strength to make this work......still like Kurt's videos and respect him greatly. Just offering a counter point.
@NovaChan07
@NovaChan07 9 жыл бұрын
SCROGY He did say at the beginning that this probably wouldn't work against a higher level grappler. The leg on ear might be a helpful cue to know when or not to try this though.

would there be any negative to hiding that hand on the inside with the one from the rear and pulling with both? just seems to me with the hands separated it would still be fairly easy to peel that hand for the armbar. I'm just a blue belt so this is a serious inquiry of your knowledge, not a smart-ass comment. your thoughts?

Kurt is fucking awesome I still.think for newer guys to.BJJ they are best framing with their arm as defense or wrapping behind the tjigh rather than risking the arm being dragged across by simple breaking the grip, even experienced guys get caught with this whats happening here so needs lots of practice and more power to escape....just my honest opinion.

+EIRE FOREVER dude, i have lower back problems, enough to get a medical discharge from the army. doctors told me no activities that are fun. i'm stupid so ignored them and trained a variety of combat sports including a little judo., muay thai, kumdo/kendo, boxing, all of these gave my back hell. Also mountain biking and other sports after a long day gave me hell. However, maybe because of all the stretching we do, i'm not sure, bjj has been heaven on the lower back. being smart, knowing ur limits and learning techniques that avoid heavy lower back stress helped. bjj is the best!! oh and swimming is great for your back too but extremely boring!!! need to put sharks in the pool to make that workout interesting.
@rangerwingman
@rangerwingman 8 жыл бұрын
Jerry Aultz haha,that's a good one,no activities that are fun,so they want you to curl up an do fuck all with your life an take their poisonous (meds)drugs. thanks for your input,will deffo take that on board.i love swimming,haha yea havin sharks in the pool would deffo make you step up your swimming game eh :)

cauliflower, plus it doesn't work for guys with super strong legs/thighs. Once you pull the pants and it slipped down, you're a goner.
@killerneon302
@killerneon302 10 жыл бұрын
im sure if its the last 30 seconds of your finals match and youre up on points and you get caught in a triangle you wont be bitching about cauliflower ear using this escape.
@STUPIDYOUTUBE_HIDINGMSGS
@STUPIDYOUTUBE_HIDINGMSGS 10 жыл бұрын
killerneon302 You're so sure? Really? I could tap you anytime with a triangle and will be snoozing even before you could use this technique.
@killerneon302
@killerneon302 10 жыл бұрын
hahaha okay tough guy. i never said this was my go to technique. im saying that when all else fails why not try it, plus if its being taught by a black belt im sure it has to work to a degree. and why are you threatening to triangle me? are you that insecure of your triangle escape?
@STUPIDYOUTUBE_HIDINGMSGS
@STUPIDYOUTUBE_HIDINGMSGS 10 жыл бұрын
killerneon302 LOL. No bro, not threatening, just highlighting the statement that you made "that you are sure...". I don't bitch about something when I get caught, if I need to tap then I tap than sleep or break a limb. And I have 2 high percentage triangle escapes and neither one is this. Peace.

You stand up with your head down like that, all the blood rushes to your head and you get choked faster. Also, they can just switch to a triangle sweep with extreme ease or scoop the leg and adjust the angle each time you shake. Never going to work against anyone who specializes with triangles
