Love it man. That tan lume really makes this watch. Best 7002 I've seen

Wow you really always go above and beyond!!!! You’re so good for that! Keep up the amazing work Spence

I used a similar lume-matching strategy with my 7002-700J. However, in my case the bezel pip lume was greenish and matched the NOS hands that I found.

Great work Spencer. I especially liked seeing how you worked the crystal press and how that part comes together.

Well that's the best looking 7002 I've seen. Amazing work! I don't think I've ever seen one with such perfectly aged lume.
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch6 жыл бұрын
Me neither. Well, I've seen them with some of this lume left, but not much. This is the only one I've seen with all the lume present, with even & original coloration.

Amazing! Beautiful work, as usual. Wish my 7002-7009 had that creamy tan patina lume like this one does. Bravo, Spencer!

This one is available, as I have one 7002 in my box already that has sentimental value to it.
@docswatchbox83216 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but you already have my 7002-7009 in your "cue". It's got a LOT of sentimental value to me - and I can't see taking another 7002 onboard. I was just noting how I love that tan patina, vs. the gray promethium lume that mine has.

Just looking at your fingers and hands as you work Spencer, I think you missed your calling. You should have been a surgeon! Very impressive work my Man.

Spencer Klein what would be the original strap for this watch? Or something tropical to remind you of its roots.
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch6 жыл бұрын
Dale Taylor Jr. it would have come on a standard flat-vent rubber dive strap.

Hello. Great job. I'm looking a new rotor for my Seiko 7002. Would you recommend a place to get replacement parts? I don't know any place. Thanks
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch3 жыл бұрын
any Seiko 7005 / 7006 / 7009 / 7S26 / 7S36 has a weight you can use, or you can order one of the currently available genuine Seiko sub weights here: www.julesborel.com/products?search=0509184

Yes, it will go right on.

Awesome series Spencer! I just picked up one of these that in need of service. It's had a rough life but looks to be salvageable. Been getting more into the Seiko line than others but parts are an issue for me to source. (Case parts are the worst) Could you or others watching please share where one can do so in the states? Thanks and again - awesome series and finished project!!

Hi Spencer. Great videos. I really like how steady your hands are! Also, where do I source them click ball cartridges? I need it for my 7002-7009. I do own a couple 6309-7040’s and I did get it when you said that the cartridge is an upgrade. Cheers!

I have the exact same watch, my dad bought it about 30 years ago and when i opened it to try and fix it the rubber black ring under the bezel broke because it was too dry and dusty... any place i can order a new one?
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch3 жыл бұрын
They're on eBay - any of the Seiko divers like 6105, 6309, 7002 use the same gasket.

Great stuff, thx Spencer. Super interesting. (reason to the rhyme or method to the madness). it all makes perfect sense. Interesting comments regarding the water getting in. My biggest fear, with more than one auto watch, working the crowns all the time to wind when I alternate between watches makes me nervous. Always wonder what effect that has on the seals.

Vlerkies as long as they’re properly lubricated and not degraded it should be ok

Dear why doesn't this seiko have the classic spring and bals? I have two seiko 7002 one with clicks like yours and one with spring and ball. Why on the same moddelo two types of clicks? Thanks, 19

Great set of videos, thanks! I notice that your movement holder has a centre support inside it. Is it ok to use a simpler style holder without that center support to fit hands on a 7002?

Does insert bezel from 7002 7000 fits on Seiko 7548-7000?
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch Жыл бұрын
Yes, but actually no. It'll fit, but the lume color is wrong, and the insert finish isn't correct for a 6309 - reflective instead of an eggshell satin.

Spencer Klein awesome thanks!! What do you recommend for a good starter case/movement holder?
@chrisgreenwood2716 жыл бұрын
Personally I would prefer the hand set lume to match the markers.
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch6 жыл бұрын
Would be clearly unoriginal, which isn't something I do. Seiko hand lume almost never went tan, but there are a number of Seiko models from the 1970s with tan dial lume and white hand lume. Also, modding just isn't my thing. Restoration to stock is. But I get what you're saying.
@chrisgreenwood2716 жыл бұрын
Spencer Klein that would explain why the hand set on my early model 6309 diver look different to the marker, the watch is unmolested. I have a 6306 diver where the hand set, markers and the text have all turned to a grey colour.
@SpencerKleinVintageWatch6 жыл бұрын
The greying out is due to humidity inside the watch.
@chrisgreenwood2716 жыл бұрын
Spencer Klein makes sense, I've owned it over 10 yrs thankfully there was no evidence of moisture in the movement or pitting to the case back, I had it serviced a couple of moths ago, it's running great.

After 4 sets of hands, I like to think you do a sneaky cut in edit which has one entire hour of violent sweat and swearing.
