@@Kwackajack personally, I wouldn't mind if you just did some basic ride along videos. They're really easy, since you don't have to edit them much or talk a lot. I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy that. I watched your earlier vlog and thought you could do something similar, but without the music (just my opinion), since I prefer just hearing the engine sound. Hope it helps man!

Bought a 2019 400 for 3 months and learned on it, loved it! Sold it for the 2019 ZX-6R and haven’t regretted it for a second. More power and much smoother. If you have some self control you can learn on the 600 very easily (go on flat ground and slowly release the clutch). The 400 had much more trouble to get going with just the clutch thus having to use throttle to learn right away. So in that sense the 636 is easier to learn on! So if you have a bit extra cash, look into it at least before you buy the 400.

jayaditya t everyone I’ve seen says they love them but the 650’s make far more sense for the street. I know someone with a 390 that was disappointed their r6 felt more sluggish down low which is mind blowing to think about although the ktm 390 is super torquey and even jumps the 400 so Idk

only 1 thing I would change is that you should edit your video with a couple of headlines, as well as put the timeline in your description. As for anything else, they are extraordinary, really love it dude. You gave the pros and cons, comparison in different contexts and consumer needs, which is a big plus. Oh, and 1 more thing, I would recommend you to talk about other things like the caster angle, how you maneuver it in the parking or narrow alley, how is it like when you have to U-turn the bike, etc., things that no other reviews ever mention. You would think that the majority of people planning to get a motorcycle would know this but it's all the way in the opposite. One time my friend and I went to a motorcycle promotion event and saw a Fireblade rider struggling himself try to park his bike in line, that's something I have never knew of from review videos or articles. Stay solid and peace.

It's a pretty comfortable ride. I have a 2020 vulcan 900 custom. Its a bit heavier to pick up but once you're moving the weight isn't as noticeable. Does pick up a bit of vibration over 70mph but not bad or discouraging. Biggest difference is on the body. I don't get nearly as sore riding for long distances.

Good review man I've had mine around the same amount of time, similar kays too. It's been faultless. Agree with the ergonomics call though, a more aggressive position would be nice but I think it's a good middle ground. I looked at the KTM RC390 and I found it way too cramped

used for 6k!!! I got mine tax titled and out the door for $5,400. they are a lot cheaper in the states. great bike btw I love mine. Dont let anyone tell you that you need a 600 or bigger to learn on cuz you'll get bored. its just not true and you'll learn to be a much better rider starting off smaller. Also if you're skilled you can destroy big bikes on the track. my buddy is good and he crushed a bunch of guys on 600s who thought that they had him beat easy. shifting, cornering, breaking and seat position are more important than power. But the 400 has good torque low end, mid and high it's what really sets it apart from other smaller bikes. it's high reving motor and generous power band make for a really fun ride. small bikes can suck of under powered but Kawasaki really got this one right. I'll take ripping through the gears and flicking it into corners any day over never getting out of second gear in town with a 600. Oh and in case your wondering yes it has plenty of power to wheelie. The only thing I HATE about the bike is the shitty rock hard seat. Everything's fantastic and then boom they went with the cheapest hardest shit seat possible. Replace it with an aftermarket gel cover or seat and ur good to go. One of the funnest bikes I've ridden and I'm glad I have one!

Yep! Dealer Demo for $6000, but that's Australian Dollars. 6000 AUD would be around $3900-$4000 US dollars. so considering that it's an absolute bargain ;) Glad to hear that there are a lot of other people out there enjoying the 400's! As I said in the review I think this is a great engine size as you can get so much out of it. Seems like you find this too. I have never really had much issue with the seat hardness but have heard of others having that problem. Do you think you will ever upgrade to a bigger bike? Also, thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

Most of the world has a learner bike class of some sort. Not able to ride a bike over 660cc and with a big power to weight. As a example, in Australia we have a version of the MT07, it has a throttle restrictor and is made 10cc smaller to just get it under the maximum CC allowed. I had a 2015 model but changed the throttle (I’m on a full licence so not illegal to do so)

Having started on a ninja 300, to a ninja 650, to a ninja 636, I do not recommend the 636 for a starter bike at all. Learn on the 400, it’s better in numerous ways. It’s cheaper, easier on insurance, easier to learn on especially for the road test part of the M1 endorsement, and you won’t feel as gross when you drop it in the drive way because you stepped off wrong, or turned on gravel on the highway and lay it down. The 600 should come after a year or two or the 400. Imo.

I review bikes(and cars for that matter) for a living and your Ninja 400 review is rather bang on the money. Regarding the brakes, front you merely replaced the pads with a better grade which will enhance braking performance(till the ABS interfere). The rear brake, well you don't really use the rear brake on any sportbike to brake but rather for in corner balance and even more so on track hence the "weak" feel. And you right the Ninja 400 is not a begginer's bike, it just a bloody good little sportbike which is deeply enjoyable. The twin parallel engine is class leading. And make sure to take it to a track day as that is insanely fun to do plus you learn a lot. Great track training is the best performance part you can add to any motorcycle.

@@Kwackajack passion is key and consistency a must. Ride as much bikes as you can and listern to what seasoned riders especially reputable test riders from well-known publications say. Get connected to your favorite bike publications(social media works great in this eegard),importers and dealerships and invest in those relationships. And when getting to review always speak your mind and never go back on your opinions as those are yours and never fear to entertain a reader. Ignore the haters and never waste your time on them. If you have the passion and the fire you will make an impression and if this Ninja 400 review is anything to go by then you off to a great start.

Great review, subbed to channel, great to see an Aussie reviewer, I got this bike 3 months back after not riding for 5 years though I'd start back on the 400, and have to say made the right choice before going back to a bigger bike. rode down to Sydney via Putty Road then back by Old Pacific Hwy, and it did not fail to impress, the slipper clutch is such a welcome plus it goes where you point it. At 181cm it can be a little tight hence ordering the aftermarket seat which helps, and totally agree about the pipe, changed mine within a week, I'd say on the second-hand market plenty will come with an aftermarket pipe.

Great review. I think you helped me seal the deal on my first bike. I always loved the green and black ninja's. I started looking a few years ago when their were only 300cc bikes which I felt I would outgrow quickly and the ktm but that looked to small and seemed more rugged which i didnt want. Now I found myself looking again and the 400 seems perfect. Definitely getting the abs krt edition. Dealers around me are trying to make room for new models so they have them as low as $4,290 usd for a brand new 400 abs krt edition. Which is about $6,300 aud. So as you said I don't think anything can beat it for the price and it shouldnt go down to much in value.

Would be better with the 4 cyclinder 400 engines that used to rule the class. You should find an old school zxr400 and compare, they're like riding a two stroke with all the power at 12000rpm.
@Kwackajack
@Kwackajack 4 жыл бұрын
A 4cyl 400CC engine would have a lot more power than the parallel twins in the ninja 400. I’d like to ride a 4cyl bike to see the difference in engine output and delivery. The zx6r is on my shortlist for bikes to upgrade to when I’m able to ride on a full unrestricted license here in Aus!

I bought a 2nd hand 400 in Dec cheap as primo condition had 5.8ks on the clock and atm it’s on 16.6ks. I’ve done 10.8k in 7ish months. Love the bike, debating weather or not I should get the 650 or zx6r
@Kwackajack
@Kwackajack 4 жыл бұрын
Very easy bike to fall in love with! The 650 and zx6r are two very different bikes.. if you want a higher powered ninja 400 then the 650 is the go. However the zx6r is a race replica bike so seating position, engine performance and set up will be very different. Has a lot more power and less forgiving. In saying that, I’m looking to upgrade to the zx6r from my ninja 400 to experience that power!

Thumbs up ! I like the video and audio in this. And you have a mellow demeanor with straightforward feedback and info. Questions, can we adjust the clutch cable or shifter to make it less loose? Also what exhaust is good to replace the huge factory one from bothering my right boot? I don’t want a too loud/annoying exhaust for aftermarket.
@Kwackajack
@Kwackajack 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback, glad you enjoyed! What kind of content would you like to see next? I think you may be able to adjust the cable to make it looser, I adjusted it a bit when I first got it. I have a Leo Vince on mine which sounds good but is very loud. You may like the akrapovic slip on, it’s a bit smaller and sounds better than the stock pipe but isn’t too loud 👍🏻
@grumpysquid
@grumpysquid 4 жыл бұрын
Kwackajack Thanks for the exhaust info. You know what would be so unique and awesome? If you do a motovlog where you take your N400 on your daily routines and excursions. Keep dialogue to a minimum. Because you seem to have a natural and poetic journalist presence. Combined with the awesome video zooming and movements you showed, and crisp audio. It would look awesome. Kind of a like a live journal/diary. The cinematography would have to be just right. I think you could really hit that off.

In my experience, the ninja 400 has serious weak brakes and the engine vibrates a lot. The power it’s ok but the way that delivers it it’s not the best (it delivers the power up to 6-7k rpm). Also the suspensions aren’t very good at all. Recently i have bought a triumph street triple S and the differences are very noticeable especially on brakes, engine and suspensions. I honestly would not buy it again and when you have been in it for a while and want to go faster you end up bored because it does not give more power. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad bike but there are better options on the market for a similar price.
@Kwackajack
@Kwackajack 4 жыл бұрын
You’re entitled to that opinion. What option for a beginner for that price would be better? Unless you get a used older bike but that comes with its own issues and may not be suitable for a new rider
@maxipete100
@maxipete100 4 жыл бұрын
Kwackajack For example the ninja 650 or the mt-07. And if you don’t want to limit the power you have the R3 or the RC390 that both of them have better components. I’ve had fun with the ninja 400 but looking back I would have bought another bike.

I paid $3150 when the dealer put it on sale. Zero miles. Price is 10 out of 10. More than enough power for the road but not so much that you can get in trouble in half a second like my old super bikes.
