At 5:18 where the two cables connect. Closing the unit with the cable is very difficult. Instructions make it look very easy. I was wandering how easy or how long it took to get that part completed. My cover wont close because of the cable is in the way. It seem they did not make enough space to tuck the cables in.

you do have to fiddle a bit. you have to push into available space. there is space on that part I’m putting onto the lock. there is space at the bottom. just wrap the cord around the inside bottom. figure 5 minutes or so. it is tight there so expect it to take a bit.

At 8:57 here I pressed the A button and not getting any response. Doubled check batteries are in correctly.

Aside from calling their support, make sure your phones bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on. It is possible that they changed the install process, so always best to follow their installation instructions. I find their support to be good, and especially important if it tuns out the unit is defective. Oh make sure its the A button you are pressing. Sometimes I get confused as to which button is which. Let me know if you are successful.

We had issues trying to get the Bluetooth/pairing step going, when setting up using your mobile device. It kept freezing and restarting that step “Hold A for 3 seconds etc.” If this happens to you, go to your Bluetooth settings in your phone and find the lock on the list and then “forget this device.” It finally worked after doing this while all the factory resets and manual settings did not work. They don’t say what I mentioned anywhere on the manual either I believe. 45 mins wasted with a 1 minute solution.

The door handling process is supposed to figure it out auto magically. Sounds like you’ll need to call their support line for this one.

Not sure for this model, however we are presently reviewing the similar model the halo touch. In their directions they ask the you call support to request the drive in. Imagine this would hold for the the halo touchpad model as well.

Was the four finger wake up mandatory?

Basically you need to touch the screen in multiple places for it to wake up. We found 4 fingers to work best. You might get away with the palm of your hand or 3 fingers.

What if your door has the smaller hole in it?

Their directions guide you on how to install. If the hole isn’t big enough you’d need to enlarge it if that is even possible. If I recall they have a template for this. Recommend calling their tech support before making any cuts.

We don't know the limit, but it handles our multiple iPhones and iPads fine. How many phones do you want to hook up?

what about when the router is unplugged and the lock goes offline?

even with your router off the lock is opened by either the touchpad or the physical key. The phone app however will not open it.

@@Appmyhome right but was worried because I wasnt able to go back and reprogram being away. Had an elderly neighbor unplug and plug back in the router and after an hour it did reconnect. So there apparently seems to be something that connects to the last setting without having to take the back cover off and go through the madness of reprogramming. I could have never talked my neighbor through that process

It did not work for me. I wish this had actually shown how to line it up and install it. The screws did not go in all the way so it would not stay in place.

we agree, they need a better system. basically you have to fuss with it to get it to fit. but once it’s on you should be set.

This lock does have WiFi but there are plenty of smart locks that don’t connect to the Internet. Agree on the batteries though! They go through a lot.

We returned these locks because they wouldn’t stay connected to Wifi and so the batteries would wear down in 3 days. Complete garbage.

what type of router do you have? was the signal at the door strong? a weak signal makes WiFi devices use up batteries. also key to ensure the firmware of the lock is up to date. I know they’ve made firmware advances in power usage. what lock did you end up getting?

I don’t know what type of router it is but it’s new this year. It’s about 8 feet from the door lock so. It was the Weiser Halo touchscreen. My neighbour bought them too and they don’t work on his house either. My Nest thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi and there’s never been an issue. I’ll have to find another lock to use that has codes but isn’t dependent on Wi-Fi.

@@gailryder1970 wow 8 ft should work. The other types of locks would use Bluetooth but then you need a bridge to be able to access it remotely. We also have a Wyze Bluetooth lock called Wyze lock bolt. It works really good. Has a keypad and a fingerprint reader you can program different codes and people. The one we use on our front door is from eufy. Comes in two models. One with a camera. Both have key, fingerprint and keypad. That said they are WiFi but maybe it would connect better. And it uses a rechargeable battery which is really a nice add. You should be able to see our reviews. Feel free to ask questions.
