I totally agree you’ve overreacted I lived many years on a sailboat with no refrigeration. All you do is turn your eggs over the carton that is every three days eggs will last a couple of months I have them for months mayonnaise is fine once you dip out of the mayonnaise don’t Touch the knife onto the bread. the rotisserie chicken fine. Those of us in the states are brainwashed about refrigeration. Very famous sailors Lynn and Larry Pardey built two wooden sailboats, no engine, and only had a ice box. They sailed all over the world. I read all the books and practiced all their tips for the 17 years I lived on sailboats

Great video! Regarding eggs: to determine if they are good to eat you can place the egg in a bowl or cup of water. If it floats it is bad. A fresh egg lays on its side on the bottom. As it ages it starts to stand up. An UNWASHED fresh egg can stay good for two weeks at room temp. 🥚

I can’t believe you guys are going to be empty-nesters. It’s been wild to watch each child grow up and head off to college. My son is ten and I’m already trying to slow down time (he’s only home every other week :/). I can’t imagine the feeling of having all of your children off to college. I may have cried for three hours while cleaning up a hug mess and hauling all my groceries to the dumpster. I grew up with someone in the neighborhood who never had their mayonnaise in the refrigerator. From Wisconsin as a matter of fact (this was California. Also, many people who lived on sail boats never refrigerated eggs. They just rotated them. I suppose it’s changed now however, have you ever thought about expiration dates on honey and salt. Both keep for thousands of years.

We absolutely love being in Wisconsin in July! It's a huge temperature relief for us being from Texas. We've gone 2 summers in a row now with our objective being Oshkosh for a week of airshows with our 5th wheel in tow for lodging. We don't stay on the airshow grounds because we need A/c for our pets. Last year we spent time in Door County prior to Osh and went to a fish boil. I think it's similar to a supper club. I relate it more to a crawfish boil. This year we spent time in an area called The Dells. The Waterpark capital of the u.s. or the world. We went to the largest one in the u.s. For us southern folk the water was cold for July! Beautiful area with beautiful people!

Hello. I am restraining myself from commenting on food storage, but I sure hope you have read & are aware mayo, eggs, yogurt, etc certainly do not need to be refrigerated. Check Lynn & Larry Pardey. I am a long time sailor, never had a fridge, as long as the eggs are rotated every few days all is well. Always enjoy your posts, and I agree, Trish, I had visited almost all 50 states (not Hawaii) by the time I was 16. (eh, I'm only 56 now) Sure hope Caleb appreciates his well rounded education. I absolutely love that you're coming to Nebraska! I don't know where all you're planning on going in my great state, but there is so much to see! We have the largest underground lake in the U.S. with the Ogalalla aquifer, we have a cool and interesting take on Stonehenge called Carhenge near Alliance, and of course, your usual visitor spots like Scott's Bluff and Chimney Rock that are part of the Oregon Trail. I love all of the diversity of landscapes in Nebraska. It's not just a fly over state like people say. I would say one of our common colloquialisms is 'dragging main.' Which just means you're driving back and forth on main street, waving to friends, checking out who has come to town to drag main, etc. It's a common activity if teens in smaller towns. My hometown created an event for EVERYONE to drag main to get people out during covid, and it has become an annual event in McCook. Have fun on the RAGBRI! I did the BRAN in Nebraska. Very fun!

Thank you so much for the adventure. Oh Gee Charlie has been having a great time. So beautiful up there and looks to be so healthy and green. After 100 degree days my yard almost looks like hay. Awesome seeing the locks. Sure going to miss Calub when he goes off to college. He is such an amazing young man. Hugs to Charlie and safe travels. Love y'all

Glad you guys had the chance to visit Trek, I actually work very closely with Trek for my job and am on site regularly working with the folks in the paint and maintenance departments. They are always working on something cool! I actually saw you guys fueling up and getting lunch at a Wisconsin staple, Culver’s.

Georgia - "Howdy Y'all!" Your videos just are just the best. Just puts me in the best mood to either start or end my day. Need this today. Getting ready to work on a college presentation for new school teachers. Really didn't want to spend my day doing this. But now I am in the best mood. KYD rocks! Robert Burton - Fayetteville, Ga.

Not sure why but this was a great episode. I enjoyed all of your Nova Scotia videos but this one was simple and excellent. Thanks.

OH man.... right there too.... just had to replace fridge, truck has check engine light that keeps coming on, microwave is temperamental, had a leak from the new fan in the bathroom, pup needs to get snipped.... things are just expensive right now! Phew... hanging on, counting our blessings and looking forward to heading to our next spot after Labor Day!

I love your diesel prices🤩. In Denmark, a gallon costs USD 7.35 or DKK 13.19 per liters - But never mind, we enjoy every mile we drive in our old Class C. We continue to enjoy following your fantastic journeys, which are a great source of inspiration.

Best to have 12 volt ice chest for emergency refrig defrost failure. Mine works terrific in such a pinch. It is very good at chilling Bud Lite & Molson’s.😂😂😂😂
