Official Simple Little Life video of: Kydex Quick Tip - a quick and easy way to mount clips to your sheaths. I've tried a bunch of different ways to mount belt clips to my Kydex sheaths.This is one way I came up with that works well, is quite simple and easy to do, and gives a great end product. Hopefully it helps you out. Cheers!

About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

Pretty clever.. Id make a jig that is about 10 inches in length, that way you can make about 5 of these clips in one go from one sheet of kydex, then just cut them out.. thanks for sharing

I've been doing something very similar. I use a tech lock and mount it for scout carry then a make a dangler insert. That way whatever way I want to carry is just a simple adjustment. No need to pull it all apart.

Great idea. Just a thought, if you made the grove an 1 3/4 wide instead of 1" you could horizontal carry if you don't mount the accessory clip. I might try this for my leatherman.

Thanks I just wish you would have told us about the screws or rivets or whatever fasteners how do they work? I am new to this, you know what and how to do this but I don't. I understand the eyelets but you the fasteners don't go through the sheath but I have no idea what fasteners to buy or anything how they work, you know because you build them but I wish you would have added that so I am back to square one with a sheath with no belt clip...

@Simplelittlelife
@Simplelittlelife 7 жыл бұрын
Hey John, thank you very much. I use Chicago screws to mount the stand-off to the sheath. I buy those also from knifekits.com They're really slick. Also I usually use a little bit of medium strength thread locker on them just to make sure they don't back off un-wantedly. Cheers!

Those clips suck. The knife sheaths will come out along with the knife upon drawing same. Use belt loops or a static line tied off to bottom whole of the sheath. There are exceptions like "bravo concealment" clips and "ulti-clips" that clamp on to your actual pants but why risk it? Clips suck.
