We left a Christian fundamentalist cult, and the leader got multiple members to track us down and try to force us back into the church, people who had been our friends telling us we were in sin and going to hell because we were no longer following the pastor ("God's man") unquestioningly. One confrontation ended in a member who was previously a friend screaming in my husband's face. Can you imagine why we didn't want to go back? It is scary to see the similarities now between our old church and scientology (even though Scientology is worse).

When I was young and very mentally sick, I was desperate for anything to help me. Then a family friend reached out to me to tell me about something that could save me, which was Scientology - I ordered a book from them and starting researching. My mentor found the book and immediately sat me down to explain how her brother joined Scientology and he killed himself when he couldn’t get out of it again, cause they kept tracking him down and he lost his sanity and money. I’m thankful she stopped me.

I've mentioned in the past that I actually spent a big chunk of my younger years living in the more arid desert of southern California and about 9 years ago now, I actually lived literally just a few short miles from their secret desert base in Hemet (which to most locals, ain't that secret honestly lol) and it always gave everyone a bad feeling when they past it. We heard so many horror stories about that place and that was before so much has come out against Scientology. Seriously scary stuff.

In my experience as a home and office cleaner, wealthy people will try to get more out of you for less money than people who aren't wealthy. They don't care if you're living paycheck to paycheck, they don't care how much work you've put in and they know damn well if they were doing the work they would charge a lot more. People who don't have a lot of money May be a little hurt by having to pay the price, but they understand and they're not going to try to finagle with you the way wealthy people do, they're not going to ask for something for nothing. I just dealt with something similar. I have regular customers I've worked with for almost 8 years off and on. Pre-covid and inflation I cleaned their home every week for a set amount, they moved and now I only do their house when they come back in town maybe once or twice a year. Not only did I do their house last minute last month, but it hadn't been cleaned in over 6 months and it was a one-time cleaning. Also, I went back a second time to do a couple things I wasn't able to get the first time. When I sent the invoice she messaged me asking why the price was so much more than she used to pay. The price wasn't that much more, maybe $100, and that was before covid and inflation and not taking into account that this was a one-time cleaning that hadn't been done in so long. They'll try anything. She pointed out that I forgot to do an appliance, my bad and I apologized. I tell all of my customers upon meeting them that I am human and I'm going to make mistakes and I expect them to let me know when I do. I'm going to forget something and that's okay, just let me know and I will be more aware in the future or I will do something to make up for it the next time. If it's a one-time cleaning then I'll come back. It was the fact that she threw that out just to get a better deal. And then they tried to pretend like they hadn't seen the invoice and throw out a number that was not what I was charging, like I was just going to concede and agreed to take less

This turned into a bit of a novel but I think it would be interesting to some people so I've been obsessed with cults from a young age and especially Scientology as I only started hearing about it a little over a decade ago, it was the only current cult I knew anything about back then. The thing that still fucks me up is that a big chuck of my early childhood was with family friends close enough to basically be family... that were Scientologists. I didn't really figure it out until my early 20s. Growing up I used to see my grandmother's friend and her family. I was maybe in 2nd grade for most my memories with them, but one of her daughters was the big sister I never had and I loved her so much. When they moved to Florida I was completely heartbroken but grandmother never wanted to talk about them. It wasn't discussed, but the family had been in Scientology before I was born and my grandparents tried to help them get out of debt even after the ruined the small shop they had together on the cape. And they stayed in the cult. They moved to Florida to be closer to Clearwater. When I was 14, we went to visit them in Florida that summer her friend had apologized profusely and begged my grandmother to come down to Florida and my grandfather was trying to convince her to go (he's not a guy that uses his brain much, I think he just wanted her to have friends again). I got excited cuz she's basically my extra grandmother and begged to come with her, which put more pressure on her to go (I still had no idea there was an issue). I got to see my pseudo big sister again and my extra grandmother was excited for me exploring spirituality (I was a practicing witch for a couple of years by there) gave me her first tarot card deck and bought me the Faerie Oracle. At one point my big sister took me on a trip to the beach and on the way there she points to this massive white building and says "that's where I work, it basically my religion's Vatican." I thought it was really cool that she loved her faith that much, especially since I wanted a community so badly at that point in my life. At the beach I ended up asking what her religion is and I vaguely remember the conversation (I was an Irish kid on a Florida beach at the height if summer, I got heat sickness lol) but a few things stick in my head. First, and this is important, whole she was definitely speaking up the church, she did NOT try to convert me. That's something I will always be grateful for because at that point, even with all my morbid teen knowledge, I would've been sucked in so fast. I remember talking about the name and how she said something about the "technologies" the founder had created and I thought it was neat. She presented it like a very modern religion with the technologies and how there are people who are in the church that still believe in other spiritualities, even witchcraft (I asked her). She also showed me the tattoo I had seen her covering before work a few times and it was the Scientology symbol with the S and 2 triangles. She said she only covered it because they expected a "professional appearance" for job there and she was afraid of them finding out and firing her. And I remember talking about why and it was for normal tattoo covering reasons that some still use to this day- professionalism, not making older people that might be offended uncomfortable, etc. I don't think she knew much then but it kinda came flooding back when I learned about the sea org. That's when I started piecing things together. My grandmother's friend was a Scientologist, the whole family was. That was the last time we saw them, though my grandmother did get the occasional call and a holiday card with my big sister's family pictures (She had a husband and two kids then) but that was it for a long time. There was one last call earlier this year. My grandmother's friend died, she had leukemia and refused to get treatment. I'm certain it has something to do with Scientology convincing her not to. I don't have proof, of course, but I just know. Once that happened I went from kinda thinking maybe I was mixing things up because I can't imagine letting any kid go with any kind of cult member alone but my grandmother was only confrontational when she couldn't hold it in anymore and there's only one reason her friend wouldn't have gotten treatment. This woman loved life. She was completely insane, looking back, I've been on psych ward with people that behave a lot like her, but she really was such a light. And Scientology too her. It took her life, it took her relationship with her eldest daughter, it took her friends by convincing this vulnerable woman to get money at all costs, and it took the chance of her getting treatment- for both the cancer and the mental illnesses. She didn't deserve any of it, not that anyone does. I don't think she would've taken anything had it not been for the brainwashing. She was just the kind of person that could trust so deeply (and I've been in relationships that tell me I need to be careful about that myself). She truly wanted to make the world a better place and she never missed an opportunity to encourage my art or anything I got into. In her mind, regardless of my spiritual beliefs, I was going to be making the world a better place too. NONE of this the Scientology stuff (outside of that one convo with my big sister) was told to me at any point, I only realized when I was asking questions about how they were a cult when I first saw someone and about them. I was mostly just asking aloud but my grandmother flatly said "it's a cult" in as way I've never heard her speak before or after that. I never asked her, didn't want her to go over the memories of losing her friend. It's as strange thing to figure out myself but be unable to confirm it. I hate to be morbid but I don't know how long I have with my grandmother so I can't bring myself to even ask. It's rough. I would probably be mourning gram's friend by now regardless of her death but knowing she's completely gone and she could've been saved... I wish I could at least save my big sister and her kids but I definitely couldn't handle the crazy shit Scientology does to detractors. I'm not upset with myself for that, it's just a difficult feeling that I don't think I'll ever have the words for. I don't want to say any names or even letters of names because I don't want that coming to bite her but I hope she knows the impact her and her mother had on my life. There weren't a lot of positive people around in my childhood, the memories with them are the closets I have to normal childhood memories. No trauma, just lots of laughter and love. I know we're all on the same page here but I felt like sharing. Also fuck Scientology.

There is a lot to it, but in a brief summary the belief is that people are immortal spiritual beings born with amnesia and to rehabilitate that immortality they have to rehabilitate their memory and their strength of consciousness to confront whatever that memory will be. They have basic courses for communication skills and study technology to new people which are very effective. That leads to people being curious about what else they offer. There are varies other effective gradient courses you can take. One you start getting into the immortality aspect, it becomes very controversial, very expensive, and very controlling. It is voluntary but they get people who do not want to give up on that glimpse of immortality, so they voluntarily comply to the control aspect..

You can also find several ex Scientologist channels here on youtube. Growing up in Scientology & Blown for Good to name a couple. Mike Rinder has a channel as well but I don’t know what it’s called.

Here is the scoop without all the drama. You have to be a collectivist to work for Scientology. The reason why nothing is ever done about the pay is that nothing is illegal about it. People sign contracts volunteering to work for the Church for what ever they are willing to pay, plus room and board, plus training on the Scientology Bridge. Scientology is run like the military. It is voluntary but once you sign the contract everything following that is mandatory. People bend to the organization's will as they believe in Scientology Tech and do not want to put that in jeopardy. Scientology professional staff auditors make very good money. People also make very good money for signing people up. My friend's daughter signed a contract with them after she graduated from high school as she married a member. She makes decent pay working in the Power Processing building. I am not sure about the rest as I was never a Staff member, but blue collar workers are at the bottom of the pay scale as they are in real life. I worked for them once on the Freewinds but they paid me $1000 dollars a week. They want you to work around the clock for it, but they don't force you. The second day the manager said to me what happened to you last night. I said I went to sleep. It was 2 o'clock in the morning. He didn't say anything back. My friend was dumb enough to work all night without sleep and got very little sleep for the two weeks we were there. But that was his choice. I didn't fault him for it. People can leave the Church of Scientology. It is BS to say that they cannot. I left in the middle of a course as a public person in 1988. I had an unlisted telephone number so they couldn't call me. They wrote me a half dozen letters and it was over. For people on Staff there is a lot more drama, but people leave all the time, so they can get out. I don't know Shelly Mis. full situation, but in all likelihood she is still a believer in the Tech. and doesn't want to face ex-communication by leaving. Everyone is speculating. "All" religions are cults. People came to America for freedom of religion. It is their choice to join.

Purple/Violet - Pride. Green Mountain - Emerald City - Oz - Envy. You have a Jedi box in display, that is Scientology. 😆George Lucas - Reaper of Light. Tom Cruise films, just look at them in chronological order: this is all theater/it's all telling a story. He's on the Tom(Thomas/doubter) Cruise - he's a Top Gun in Risky Business. That's it. Wake up sleepie heads.

I think describing tom cruse as dangerous is pushing it a bit, he is after all just a rich wizened golem of his former self, I suppose that's what millions of devotional dollars on audits and courses gets you, but please don't give the creep powers and ability he doesn't have. Religion, huh 😃👍🏴‍☠️

It’s interesting seeing so many people say negative things about it. Personally as somebody who’s voyaged into Scientology, I’m a completely transformed man. Problems I thought I could never get rid of or change are now changed or ridden of. It makes me wonder how many people just give opinions on something because somebody else’s told them the opinion and they decided to follow the crowd. Like there can’t be this many people who dislike a religion that only helps you improve your life. I don’t know these peoples personal experiences but speaking for myself, it’s honestly been a life saver

Huge respect to you, Kyeluh, for putting out content that holds these people accountable! Prob pretty terrifying TBH, so I really want to acknowledge your high level of integrity and dedication. Also though, I can already just tell, just by how you speak on certain issues, esp when kids are involved, that you will always protect your family, as well, and as a mom, but also just as a human, that’s absolutely crucial IMO. Thank you for producing outstanding content, and please remain awesome 💜⚡️

I can see tom cruise being like that. He has such a nasty personality. He doesn't see that the only reason he's in that cult is because he is worth a fortune . I think that he's ignorant childish selfish and thinks that he can treat people like dirt and they have to take it. I feel so sorry for his next wife if she's not up to scratch they'll get rid of her . I fear for anyone in that cult because you don't know what's going on properly and people do tend to disappear there

Well, if it wasn't for Tom, financially, Scientology would most likely crumble a bit. Tom is their TOP supporter. So, of course they are going to cater to his needs.

Tom cruise has enough money to buy his own cars plane let a alien fund a whole movie production. How is that photo graphic proof??? It’s just photos of planes and motorcycles that could belong to anyone. Please be for real. Tom cruise is rich and famous without Scientology like his lawyers say Scientology doesn’t not help him monetary if anything the other way around. No Sea org labor is for Tom cruise it’s all for Scientology stop blaming tom cruise don’t you realize this was they want you to do? Shift all the blame to the celebrity and not blame the actual cult

Be humane and not judging people for the way of life or color . Going to church and praying every day doesn't make you a good humane person . . !!!🙏❤️
