It’s dads that want to “beat the traffic” even if there is no traffic and the parking lot is basically empty. Like leaving the house is always an obligation, and the faster you can rush home (for no reason in particular) the better.

A decompression, absolutely. 👍 I like to drag the experience out. I’ll go to a restaurant or truck stop diner after the movie and discuss it over a meal (or read a book while eating, if solo).
@MysteriousMrL2 жыл бұрын
@@mrshmuga9 Yeah, the "beat traffic" explanation never made sense to me. Even with post-credits scenes becoming a common thing there are still fewer people staying to the end than leaving when the credits start, so the crowd tends to clear out if you wait. In my experience anyway. Oh, but what actually annoys me are the people who start shuffling towards the door when they've decided the movie feels like it's about to end.

As Bradley Ellis often says “Sakurai is a gem.” That new Pokémon doesn’t even look like a Pokémon to me. Something about it’s design is off-putting. My favorite credits are the ones where the team members actually get to write their own thank you notes. The most recent example of this for me was Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Sure, it makes the credits longer but it gives the actual devs a voice, even if just for a few seconds. ❤️

I always stay for the entire credits when I see a movie in the theater. It's part "getting my money's worth", part "how many hundreds of people did the CGI for this one?", part "what were the filming locations?", part respecting the people who worked on it, and part "maybe something cute happens after the credits". Shaun The Sheep Movie is a great example of the latter.

I don’t know if a developing studio has already done it but incorporating a “making of” into the credits would increase the likeliness of people remembering and cherishing the work and also educates people which roles have what responsibilities. While, yes, it would increase the length of the credits but you could also split the “making of” credits into different parts so the player can either enjoy them while finishing the game multiple times or watch the whole thing after their first clear (because then they unlocked it). At least that would be very interesting from my POV but it’s difficult to say if this would give people enough of an incentive to engage with the credits.

I don't know about like a whole mini doc going on the side. but to just have BTS footage going on on the side would be interesting. Out of the things games take from the movie industry I'm surprised a majority of games don't have bonus features in terms of Behind the Scenes stuff. I only recall specific games like some Valve games having audio commentary or a BTS easter egg in Jackie Chan Stuntmaster and collections. Otherwise it would be outside the game itself like Magazines, Demo Disks and collectors items. Recently it would be "making of" docs made by fans or the studio themselves uploaded to KZbin.

You do raise a good point about the Fortnite credits, honestly. A thought just occurred to me that maybe multiplayer games like that which don't have traditional game ends could slot their credits into something like the loading screen before a match. Not all of the credits, obviously - just like three names chosen at random, with their job title. Could be a neat little way to give these devs some attention, since they'd be shown at a time when the players typically wouldn't be doing anything else anyway.

I feel like credits don't exist for the audience, they're more of a record so the people involved (or people hiring the people involved) have a firm record of their role. As a player I'm only really gonna take note of the voice actors and directors, not because I don't respect about the others' work but because credits are essentially just long lists of names and my brain can only hold so much information. They exist for the IMDBs and Wikipedias of the world, ya know? Like you said, I take the credits as a period of reflection - to take in the music and think about what I just experienced.
