The Embracer split feels like when you use de-fusion in yugioh to save your massive fusion monster from a destruction effect fully intending to put it back together next turn from the surviving parts. Except in reality the cost is just a few thousands peoples jobs rather than a card or two, phew!

I can understand the reasoning for where to put the debt. If you want to be able to make regular payments to the big banks, you need a steady cashflow and thats not going to come from companies that are putting out 2, maybe 3 big projects every year. Compare that to Asmodee, who can put out games at a much higher rate, and can work with other IP Licensors to make Licensed versions of their games with ease. There are like 30 different varieties of Dobble that all link to different IP, from Harry Potter to Arsenal Football Club.

I forget which company but could also have this completely wrong but I think it was P&G (maybe Johnson & Johnson?) was being sued for their stuff causing cancer and they were like "we're sorry, this part of the company will take care of that" and then they just dissolve that company and anything that group was responsible for just poofs into the air. Again, I'm paraphrasing or could be way off the mark but yeah.

I guess Embracer becomes Divider? I use to cover a lot of Kickstarer campaigns, and when I did; I noticed that there was a huge demand for table top kickstarter projects. More so than indie game development. That was quite a few years ago, and I don't know how much the table top landscape has changed since then. But I don't think it changed much. I think table top games are still a big business. It probably makes sense to break this group off. They even mention it is very stable business. Also, the Middle Earth/ Tomb Raider company. That's an interesting one. I've heard that the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remaster has been selling incredibly well. Oh yeah... something something Xbox. Phil Spencer....
