I don’t really think so, personally. The thing is: Twosted Metal is about cars. It’s totally fine not to like that. But “make the cars control more like people” and “ make the game play like cal of duty” isn’t a reasonable “fix” because the people who like it don’t see it as a problem. The less like cars they control, they less they ARE cars. Bending the rules is fine. But there has to be hard lines somewhere or else they simply aren’t cars anymore.

I like Kyle from What I know of him via the internet. But what you speak of is a defense mechanism for people lacking in self confidence. They get good at veiling legitimate feelings in “humor” as a way to back out if it’s not well received. “I’m just joking”. I’m not saying Kyle is using it this way here, but it’s how people build that muscle.

Not gonna lie during the section where you bring up Chuckie Floop winning the first season is kind of a cool idea in the sense that if this is a live service game, each season is a new Twisted Metal tournament. Could be a cool way to tie more story elements if this is indeed going to be a live service game with characters and maps being consistently added over time. I don't think its a bad idea

This was a really good episode. The Calisto wish idea has true potential and the lack of bog witches in games is really true. Sneaking in sherk in the SF5 roster screen was 👌🏽. It was a shame you sacrificed Sagat for it. All and all a genius episode. Keep doing your thing Kyle.

I could've sworn some of the earlier Twisted Metals had a jump mechanic... I definitely know the PS3 Twisted Metal had a sniper mechanic where you could score an instant kill if you maintained eye contact with another driver long enough...

I really enjoyed the PS3 one. Thanks for giving it a shoutout, Michael. You could indeed jump: L1+R1 simultaneously. Sidebar, the control scheme for that one was crazy. It used every button plus the sixaxis. The tutorial was a must, but after that it was very intuitive.

The good ideas are actually good! :) -I would change the headshot from big tank on top to actually headshotting the driver. Like the driver side front- and side-windows. -Also change the free aim to handbrake button that turns your car towards where you are aiming in a cool way. So it is kinda aim with a very small delay. Making the cars more dynamic and able to change direction very quicly. -The jump is a must, and lighter vehicles can jump higher/farther than heavy etc.

Making Twisted Metal relevant is actually incredibly easy. Don't mess with anything mood wise, keep it metal/horror themed like Dead By Daylight but as far as loop gameplay make it league of Legends like. Drop a huge arena Battle Royale thing too just in case but make the game basically a third person car combat with LOL as a lose template. Make the arenas/stages extra destructible but don't make the destructibility a mechanic, just add it for the sake of spectacle . As far as the headshots thing Kyle mentioned just make the cars have weak spots. that is actually alreadysort of a thing in Twisted Metal. But maybe could be implemented in the way it is right now where every car has their own weak spot making them unique.

The only thing I disagree on is that it’s natural in shooters to have to be looking towards enemies to shoot at them. You could make a certain character who has turrets or something, or make that a pickup item, but otherwise that’s just how it is. It’d be chaotic if you were playing Halo or Call of Duty and some guy was looking at a tree but his bullets were hitting you. That’s what hacks do. Besides that, this was 1 of your best episodes Kyle.

When you were talking about jumping, my head imagined four springs on the bottom of the car, holding down and pressing in the right stick will release the spring at the back of the car making you do a front flip, forward right stick click will release the spring in the front and for a back flip. The consequence would be that these are all physics based so if you attempt to do a back flip while still, you'll likely just end up on your back
